The Watchtowers

There are great watchtowers that overlook the southern entrance towards the great bay of eastern Dlynaeth. One on the southwestern tip of the island and the other on the sea cliffs of the very eastern edges of the small mountain range on the mainland. Stark and grey they rise from the cliffs and frown over the bay, keeping watch over any that might enter.   They signal to each other with beacon fires.   A small birdfolk, who are physically much closer to birds than their cousins over in western Dlynaeth, act as messengers in addition. They are the keepers of the watchtowers. Their folk primarily live in from the southern mountain ranges on the edge of Dlynaeth, but many are also on the island and in the smaller mountain ranges in the south.   The towers are placed high, especially the one on the mainland to maximise visibility.
