Session 072: Dark Knights in Thornwinds Report
The party explores guilds and graveyards

Thornwinds
Recap
I discussed a bit about guilds in Dierde. An opportunity for class and profession progression. This will be a side thing, played by ear and mostly an out-of-session possiblity for character progression.
They are in town for around a week as the crew needs serious R&R due to the attacks and morale issues.
Summary
The party spent several days in the bustling port city of Thornwood, taking time to rest and gather information while their crew recovered from recent hardships. During their stay, they learned that the city operated under the influence of various gangs and thieves' guilds, though crime remained relatively low due to these organizations preferring not to cause trouble in their own territory. The party discovered rumors about an old graveyard to the south where undead frequently rose, requiring periodic intervention from clerics to calm the restless spirits. Shadow and Sas explored the possibility of joining various guilds, learning about membership requirements, annual fees, and the benefits of professional associations. They discovered that guild membership would cost around 500 gold pieces with annual dues of 100 gold, but would provide access to discounted materials and opportunities to learn new techniques. The party also discussed potential magical upgrades to their ship, including the possibility of transferring magical items into gems that could enhance the vessel's capabilities. At the Captain's Coin tavern, Shadow spoke with Flint, an older human bartender and former ship captain, gathering information about local affairs. Flint shared details about the underwater kingdom of Coral Haven to the north, which maintained limited trade relationships with Thornwood through trusted merchants. He also confirmed rumors about increasing undead activity in the abandoned cemetery and mentioned sightings of a ghost ship called the Drowned Regret in the Straits of Madness. Shadow and Sas visited the Coral Haven Trinket Shop, run by a sea elf named Shell Whisper, where they purchased several magical items. Shadow acquired a carved scrimshaw tooth depicting Thornwood and the underwater kingdom with a kraken swimming beneath, along with a pearl necklace whose colors shifted and glowed faintly. She also bought a shark tooth necklace for Artie, their owlbear companion. Sas purchased an amulet of Deep Sashelas, featuring a dolphin symbol said to bring good luck to ships, along with some aquatic incense for her herbalism practices. Meanwhile, Calliope explored the Bard School of Glamour, a tall building with marble floors where various musical practices took place simultaneously. She observed a young drow attempting to levitate musical instruments while meditating and noticed a mysterious receptionist using a black stone to copy books. Calliope learned about the guild's membership process and received a glamorous business card, though she decided not to join immediately. Barlo conducted his own investigation into the whereabouts of Garm, the plasmoid who had stolen a mechanical hand from their passenger. Through his connections to the black market network, he spoke with Reed at the dock kiosk and learned that Garm was traveling with two other similar individuals and a female drow. Reed directed Barlo to speak with Franz at the Howling Gale tavern for more specific information about their location. At the Howling Gale, Franz privately informed Barlo that Garm and his associates were likely hiding in an abandoned church outside the city. This church had been abandoned due to persistent undead problems in its associated graveyard, making it an ideal hiding place for those seeking to avoid detection. Franz also revealed that the group had been spotted in the Bone Arch district, a rundown area outside the main city walls. The party reconvened at the Sleepy Seahorse tavern to share their findings with Nisa and Yigi, the two adventurers whose companion had been attacked by Garm. They learned that Barlo had previously been tasked with transporting a drow passenger named Vyerit, who had failed to appear for pickup, and that this individual might be connected to the current situation. The group decided to investigate the abandoned church the following day rather than risk a nighttime encounter in the undead-infested area. Throughout their time in the city, the party also handled practical matters such as selling artwork and treasures through the port's network, which provided full value for their goods. They considered various magical enhancements for their ship and discussed travel routes to reach Bastion, their ultimate destination. The session concluded with the party planning their approach to the abandoned church where Garm and his associates were reportedly hiding, setting the stage for a potential confrontation to recover the stolen mechanical hand.Scenes

In the past few days they have learned that this is a town run by rogues and their guilds, but this is an open secret. Crime is low though because of this. It is a very active port.
To the north is a mass of Coral that breaks the surface of the ocean and blocks much traffic, this is an underwater kingdom -- one that does not trust those on the surface. Thornwinds is about the only place it seems to have any trust with though and so uses its ports to do its only trades with the surface world.
There is a long past of transgressions, wars, and conflicts between the two -- but at some point in the past they finally conceeded to a working and somewhat trust-worthy relationship. There are many corals, pets, seafood, and gemstones only found in that region.
There is a graveyard to the south that periodically must send priests to in an effort to handle the undead. Undead in Dierde can always be problem, and this is why many regions tend to burn the Dead -- but some places tend to not have it as a rampant problem so they may ignore the problem of the undead returning to plague the Living. It seems in Thornwinds they have a place where many are buried that they have not just burned down and so this is how they handle it. Lately it has been getting out of hand.
The two adventurers, Yggdra & Nissa Silverfrond have, at some point, notified Sas W.T. Rayce & Shadow in the Snow that there are rumors of someone matching the description of Garm Pavond in the area. The reports make it seem as if there are multiple versions or people similar to him in multiple places.
Sas would like to learn more of the guilds of herbalism... (and to learn more about Coralhaven)
Shadow wants tattoo guild...
A reminder that the crew needs a break. The party is enroute to Bast, but she has told them she needs them to gain in power before they get there. They are going to the City in a Mirage/Mist. It is over land, which they may want to address how they leave the port.
discussions on Owlbear and crew... A dangerous animal pet is not unheard of in such a place, as long as they show he is trained it should be okay.
discussions on money distribution.

It is possible you have been through this port town as it is the main southport for Aewrun. It is generally peaceful, as it is a hub of the major criminal enterprises that encompass Dierde, which means the Black Hand works out of there as well. They Work in cahoots with other criminal enterprises, most of the names are not exactly "public" and they try to hide their identities much like how The Black Road does. But many are aware of how this port city stays peaceful because of the deeds and deals in the shadows.
There is an underwater civilization to the North where ships cannot pass as the Coral is so big it grows above the ocean in many places. It is well known that the underwater society does not take kindly to anyone who goes into their waters without permission.
It was brought up before a bit how ports Work. There are groups like Black Road and others who Work together with ship captains and adventurers with regards to how goods and things get transported. This also means coins and wealth. It is why your party was given the "black card" it is what allows opportunities at the ports for those of wealth or adventuring backgrounds. The Black Card is what allows you to convert coins into Platinum or Gold or even Gems and if you need other items of wealth as well as put the call out for magic items.
This port used to be a grand port and had a large statue of a warrior fighting a large Dragon that greeted and warned those who came to the large city. At some point, long lost to history it was destroyed, leaving the legs of the warrior, the head of the Dragon, and only a narrow way that ships can go through or risk hitting the submerged statue parts.
At some point before the Great King a band of pirates from Carrune resettled the area, and over time were able to build the area up. With the lands of Dyrt and the knights who train there it became a way to bring goods in and a port for adventurers seeking glory to the west.
You might have come here at times in your youth or with Grognard. It is generally peaceful with rumors of how the true power is from various criminal enterprises.

You have learned a bit of history and lore as a Bard and for your future as a representative of your people, so you would know that this was once a grand port city which long ago fell into Ruins. Later resettled by pirates and since then a peaceful (mostly) port city run supposedly by various criminal enterprises.

You would know very little of this place, but you are sure you heard it is run by criminals and they keep the peace. As a Tortle from Oth'Mar you would hear a bit from the sailors so you would have also heard a bit of other things:

I realize now you should have heard of this before… but maybe it never made as much sense as it does now that you are exposed to it and the world. You know that many in your clan have discussed this network so you are certain that you can probably get word to another Tabaxi through this network -- but no telling how long it would take the word to get around. Something to think about at any port city though.

A discussion on guilds in Dierde
Almost all major settlements have guilds and to be in those professions you must be in the guild. It is possible smaller settlements don't have as strong of a tie to a guild, but if you are found to be practicing without an affiliation it can have consequences. Guilds help protect and gather information for their respective field and to benefit those in the profession. They may have different names, but they are all pretty much connected per field of study. So all Tattoo Guilds are part of the Major Tattoo Guild (not an official name), even if they may call each group a different name. The local groups are "sub guilds". Each Guild would have a major committee made of those from the more powerful guild groups. Guilds look to have 3 main groups. 1 is the main professional group and this is a lifetime commitment and dedication. 2 is an option for those with wealth who contribute coin to keep the guilds going, but offer the wealthy some prestige and notoriety. Finally is the adventurer class, as guilds have historically found them helpful. For one, they can tend to unearth many caches of old wealth and this is a way to curb inflation and to bring in revenue, but adventurers are a class of citizen who can do great deeds to benefit the guilds as well. in Thornwinds they learn of The Verdant Hand and The Etched Canvas, as well as The Illusive Symphony. To join it costs 500 gp, with a 100 gp/year fee. Additionally it is required to check in at least 1x a year (not a hard rule if due to adventuring issue) where you show what you have done and have an opportunity to learn something new (no more than 6x a year). You get discounts on tools or necessary things for profession, if bought through guild (generally only large cities). This would also give an opportunity to possibly buy new "recipes" or whatever knowledge is necessary. The DM would pick a few possibilities for the player to choose from. Thieves guilds are a bit different... but there are guilds for professions as well. For the bards, they can network for jobs or to learn of music and history lore. That is how bards Work here, their magic stems from pulling out power from those events and lore to bring to current time. These guilds will break up any non-guild busking or playing. other guilds exist, like bounty hunters (criminals or creatures), merchant guild of Wideberth, money guild of Neyer, Xanathar's Guild. For a Way of Shadow monk, can their Silence be dispelled? A spell is a spell, no matter its source. When you cast a spell through a feature, the spell is subject to the normal spellcasting rules, unless the feature says otherwise. Can permanent magical effects be dispelled? Or are they no longer considered magical effects once permanent? If the effect of a spell becomes permanent, it can be dispelled, unless its description says otherwise (such as in the Wall of Stone spell). Can a spellcaster dismiss a spell after casting it? You can’t normally dismiss a spell that you cast unless (a) its description says you can or (b) it requires concentration and you decide to end your concentration on it. Otherwise, a spell’s magic is unleashed on the environment, and if you want to end it, you need to cast Dispel Magic on it. Can you use Dispel Magic to dispel a magical effect like a vampire’s Charm ability or a Druid’s Wild Shape? Dispel Magic has a particular purpose: to break other spells. It has no effect on a vampire’s Charm ability or any other magical effect that isn’t a spell. It also does nothing to the properties of a magic item. It can, however, end a spell cast from a magic item or from another source. Spells—they’re what Dispel Magic is about. For example, if you cast Dispel Magic on a staff of power, the spell fails to disrupt the staff’s magical properties, but if the staff’s wielder casts Hold Monster from the staff, Dispel Magic can end that spell if cast on the target of Hold Monster. There are abilities and other spells that can end or suspend magical effects that aren’t spells. For example, the Greater Restoration spell can end a charm effect of any sort on a target (such as a vampire’s Charm or a Dryad’s Fey Charm), and a paladin’s Aura of Devotion can prevent or suspend such an effect. Three of the most versatile spells for ending certain magical effects are Lesser Restoration, Greater Restoration, and Remove Curse. Can you use Dispel Magic on the creations of a spell like Animate Dead or affect those creations with Antimagic Field? Whenever you wonder whether a spell’s effects can be dispelled or suspended, you need to answer one question: is the spell’s duration instantaneous? If the answer is yes, there is nothing to dispel or suspend. Here’s why: the effects of an instantaneous spell are brought into being by magic, but the effects aren’t sustained by magic. The magic flares for a split second and then vanishes. For example, the instantaneous spell Animate Dead harnesses magical energy to turn a corpse or a pile of bones into an undead creature. That necromantic magic is present for an instant and is then gone. The resulting undead now exists without the magic’s help. Casting Dispel Magic on the creature can’t end its mockery of life, and the undead can wander into an Antimagic Field with no adverse effect. Another example: Cure Wounds instantaneously restores hit points to a creature. Because the spell’s duration is instantaneous, the restoration can’t be later dispelled. And you don’t suddenly lose hit points if you step into an Antimagic Field ! In contrast, a spell like Conjure Woodland Beings has a non-instantaneous duration, which means its creations can be ended by Dispel Magic and they temporarily disappear within an Antimagic Field . Can you ready Dispel Magic to stop another spell from taking effect? The easiest way to stop a spell is to cast Counterspell on its caster while it’s being cast. If successful, Counterspell interrupts the other spell’s casting, and that spell fails to take effect. Counterspell works against any spell, regardless of a spell’s casting time or duration. With the Ready action, Dispel Magic can be cast in response to another spell being cast, yet Dispel Magic can’t substitute for Counterspell. The main reason is that Dispel Magic removes a spell that is already on a target, whether that target is a creature, an object, or some other phenomenon. Dispel Magic can’t dispel something in advance. If a spell isn’t already present on a target, Dispel Magic does nothing to that target. The best that a readied Dispel Magic can do is dispel a spell immediately after the spell has been cast to prevent it from having any effect after the action used to cast it. For example, on your turn you could say something like this: “I ready Dispel Magic, and if the high priest casts a spell on anyone, I cast Dispel Magic on the target if the spell takes hold.” If the high priest then cast Hold Person on your companion who fails the save against it, you could unleash your readied Dispel Magic and end Hold Person. Can Dispel Magic end Globe of Invulnerability? Yes, Dispel Magic can dispel the barrier created by Globe of Invulnerability, but not any magical effects that are active inside the barrier. If Dispel Magic targets the magical effect from Bless cast by a cleric, does it remove the effect on all the targets? Dispel Magic ends a spell on one target. It doesn’t end the same spell on other targets. --Sage Advice

she asks about the guilds. What do the lay people think? He is in the ale-brewing guild. It is more than worth it to join if in the trade, impossible to live if you don't.
She wants to join tattoo, but leaving soon -- it doesn't matter as they are all connected. as well as it is brought up about non-guild doing Work and how they will find ways to harrass them.
Any good market days? Market days are almost every day -- base on ships that come in.
The graveyard issue?
Always a problem with the undead, but this has been an issue lately. usually one will find a necromancer as responsible. She asks if there is a guild for that. Not one public. Also brought up how magic is frowned about in this port as most major settlements as there is Fear it could be used nefariously. It is recommended to be careful when using magic in any settlement. Most ships are aware of this as they go into port from port...
the cemetary is outside of town. Many clerics end up going that way, the main cleric is out of town right now...
As you go further east and away from setlements you will find more creatures and dragons. There are walls here, but many homes outside of the walls...

He says not really, but they do come here to trade. It will be taken as an act of aggression if anyone goes there.
His name is Flynt. she asks about the weirdest thing he's seen... he says an ant taking a bread crumb up a stair.

She goes to Flynt and describes him. He says he heard about him from two ladies. seems they were around Bone Arch which leads towards the cemetaries. Not as old as Old town, but still a slum... the ladies were the two adventurers.
He learned from them that garm is in the area to the south.
the party looks to whether they think he wants to pawn it or use it. They had learned that the hand was a cursed relic from the apprentice of Vecna. Yggdra was to be a great weapon for this cult. The party is aware the ladies are staying. they discuss going to see them. Barlo suggests he might have some fence contacts... they decide to meet at The Sleepy Seahorse where the ladies are staying. It's a bit more "shady" but great to stay low in.
Shadow wants to find a place with stuff from Coralhaven, so does Sas. There are merfolk and sea elves from there. they find Enchanted trinkets of Coralhaven where a Sea elf is working. Various corals and Pearl artwork and jewelry. Carved scrimshaw, some with animated art. Before Shadow enters she casts Detect Magic from her Ring of Alertness. Lots of slight Illusion magic on the items here. The black etchings have movements like waves, or hair moving. She is looking for a crazy turtle or kraken one...
Perception 27, finds one that is a large tusk. It was carved with movements on the sides. about 1' with intricate carvings and a kingdom drawn on it with swimming people and a large castle with a kraken behind it. the top of the water, off to the side looks to be a coastline and it looks like it is probably representing Thornwinds with the kraken coming for it. You could see the legs and the statue -- but appears above water.
Shop keep was surprised it was out. It has a shaky pedigree as the artist is not well known on land. 5gp.
shadow looks for bright Coral necklace or something... she finds one that the pearls have no magic, but are shifting colors a bit with a slight glow. green and purples. not bright, but can be seen from a distance. 15 gp.
she pulls out a necklace with sharks teeth -- big enough for an Owlbear? 10 gp for that.
gives her 35 gp.
The artist was Seraphina, not a big fan of landwalkers. Tend to keep the art out of store due to his views.
Calliope wanted two scallop sea shells. Sas wonders if there are other shops. This seems to be the main one, some pieces might be in other stalls and shops though. This would be the main shop for stuff from there. Food can be found in other places. Sas is wondering about herbalism.
This has a bit of a hippy shop vibe, so there are various "treatments" and herbs. They also suggest she check out the Bard guild for new songs...
Sas (investigation 27) finds a table with all the herbalism stuff. Some interesting incense. also wants an amulet.
Sas Religion 17, so she knows a major god is Eadro, and he created the Locathah. The Asathalfinare is a pantheon for good-aligned aquatic races and even many on the seas, led by Deep Sashelas.
His Symbol is a dolphin and Shadow finds one, worth 5 gp. Supposedly good luck on a ship and you may see an avatar of Deep's when sailing. has a slight glow of diviniation and Abjuration.
Sas also finds some incense. cheap, 1 sp. nice one 1gp. or fine for 10 gp (often used for those casting Find Familiar, especially for sea creatures).
her name is kelpie on land, but Seashell Whisper underwater.
Calliope has to go deeper into the city, near the main park where various Bard schools are around. She finds the The Illusive Symphony, a tall building with "ivory" floors. Music is everywhere and althought they are all different songs and styles it sounds harmonious as one wanders through the halls. She looks for a concierge, everyone seems like they know where they are going -- then a Halfling girl comes up and asks if she can help.
They tell the tales that must be told. She notices the instruments and breaks down the fees...She is here to show her songbook to learn some new ones. You don't have to be based here, since bards tend to not stay still.
You would have to play some for the guild leaders. then show the songbooks and narratives so they can be copied. Then be sure to stop by 1-6 x a year... Calliope worries since they lost 3 years. You don't have to stop here, any location is fine. You wont' get kicked out, adventurers (especially bards) this is normal. Just catch up on past dues... then pay.
She asks about favorite room. This Halfling likes a certain closet where everything becomes a comforting hum. She is told it is okay to explore.
She walks around... she sees various rooms, massive library with people taking copious notes. A room with curtains drawn, dark. young female sitting crosslegged with various instruments around her floating, she struggles with a lute that won't float and play like the others. she winces.
Calliope Investigation 18
The robes are black, but similar in cut and style to what Garm Pavond & Relia wear.
Calliope moves on. Sees a Human gentleman playing a lyre and he is dropping notes-- he keeps struggling.
She gives him an inspiration and he smiles. then returns to playing.
As she goes down to the front she notices a desk near the wall where someone is sitting, a slight reception desk feel. she asks if there is a free trial period.
she asks for a business card... there is a card, but larger -- like a band flyer. 5x7, cardstock. very shiny. Bard School of Glamour. The Illusive Sympony. All bards of glamour welcome.
she leaves some glitter. The girl has a book, and she takes it and puts it under a Silk scarf. Underneath it is another book and a black stone. she puts the scarf over it and smiles.
Calliope History 11
she has heard of various magics to make copies. As a Bard she has heard stories of prized magics that can instantly copy Books.
she relays what she saws, specifically about Drow and clothes to the party -- as well as asking Bastion if he knows of stones or crystals to copy spell Books.
Bastion Arcana: 25
He has heard of such magics, especially as a sage, a secretive black stone that can copy Books. It requires the stone and a blank book with the same or more pages. Put the two Books on the stone and it can quickly copy it.... magic and spells are problematic, stories of those who have tried and it has been almost always disasterous to the person, the stone, and others. some have lost their ability to cast because of such experiments.
These used to be outlawed by more opressive regimes who tried to control information and knowledge. Those who own them tend to be secretive about them as they are generally legal, but there are fears about them. Even possible counterfeiting...
Bastion is also aware of how libraries tend to collect these to help expand their collections, and Shadow recalls how Outding liked to "borrow" all Books coming in. They realize that the library probably had one of these.
cue to Barlo...
He goes to the Dock and finds the harbor master to handle the selling of art. It is suggested to go to the "Port Authority", a Halfling at a kiosk.
Barlo looks for the Symbol of The Black Road... he sees it at the PA. Brings up the artwork. then says how he is looking for Garm, brings up what he looks like.
The Halfling gives him a once over. Barlo flicks the coin in the air, then puts it away... Can I have your name?
"barlo"
"It seems you know where all roads Lead..."
Persuasion: 15
It seems he might know more... he pulls up a book, says he knows that Barlo was transporting this individual. It seems they are a bit upset as this individual has attacked someone on the road and attacked others using the road. This means Barlo needs to handle the situation.
He is in the Boneyard, with at least two others similar and a Drow in black robes. They are of an uncommon race, Plasmoid, which the organization knows some things about. The Mask is not a Mask, but the ooze made hard to resemble Wood. used to hide identity.
Suggested to go to The Howling Gale in the Bone Arch. Tell the bartender, Franz, you sailed your ship off the Dark Road.
he tips a Gold coin, and has another quesiton. He is looking for a tracker named, Adrex Lhamboldennish who was on a job for him. he disappeared. He needs to contact him.
Persuasion: 27
He puts his hand under the book in the kiosk.... interesting he was the one we sent to look for you..
"yes, that's how I met him".
"... after you were supposed to escort a passenger from Eushia, Neyer."
He says he was shipwrecked. Now needs to find him.
"it's Weird you failed to show up at Neyer, but so did the passenger. Now you have this incident. And you bring up a person who is missing."
Barlo brings up his sister was missing then he was in outding... the Halfling knows that since they sent the Dragonborn there...
he makes a deal. Says they will help him with Adrex if they will help him find the missing passenger, Vyerith.
Barlo says they will and they are staying on the ship.
His name is "Reed"...
Barlo goes to ship. Tells captain. Gets artwork and has crew deliver it then goes to The Sleepy Seahorse
Sign is hard to notice.
everyone is at a table. He tells the party about Garm, his buddies, a new Drow person wearing similar garmants. Drow are rare, but a handful can be found in such a port place.
He tells them how Vyerith was who he was supposed to transport.
There are others who are upset with Garm, and want Barlo to handle this.
now to Nissa & Yggdra...
This makes sense, seems there are others and not just him. He brings up The Howling Gale, they had checked it out-- found nothing.
Calliope had seen the Elf at the Bard's guild. discussion on what to do... suggests not doing it in the guild. Nissa suggests going to the Bone Arch. They discuss staking out The Howling Gale.
(there was a discussion about male/female. I realize I also forgot a bit since there was 3 characters at the Bard college and so we decided she was a bit adrogenous in their features with a cloak and long hair it could be hard to totally tell).
They head out, past the castle and nice homes/businesses to the Gate... as it is night the guards warn them. Outside of the gates the law means less than it does in the gates.
The Howling Gale is in the Wine Gate. It gets a bit nicer in this area.
only a few people in here, seems the nautical bits are of the original place... He is reading Barlo asks if he is Franz and tells him the password.
He puts the book down and looks around. Says he will just take Barlo, to the office
ensures no one followed.
Reed told him to come here. He is lookign for Garm.
He already talked to Reed. They are staying at an old church on the outskirts of town. He hadn't seen much of the Drow, probably was their connection in the gates.
Past a hill. It used to be where they buried the Dead. Kept coming back. so they abandoned it. Only visit when they need to handle the Dead.
The wall of non believers is briefly brought up.
Barlo gives him money.
suggested day time.
shadow looks at the book... "Whispers of the Drowned", synapsis: mystery
perception: 25
the book is a bit racist, the writer hates merfolk and sea elves. Mystery of someone killing people from Coralhaven and the racial epithets are clearly unneccessary...
shadow spills some ale on the book. Seems the bartender pays it no mind. the book seems to be mostly a prop.
Transcripts
Right. So last session was kind of I wanted to give you guys enough to kind of figure out what if there was anything I wanted to do in town or whatever else. I think for the most part, you guys were able to kind of figure out some of the things you wanted to do and get those done.
---
The only big thing that kind of turned into a side project was shadow, and her interest in learning more tattoos. So I kind of put together that little thing about guilds, and that's good for any of you guys with anything that you just want to learn about, especially if you already have a proficiency with. and we'll just play it by ear on that, but it's an option like, for example, I know with, sass, she has the herb, the herbalism kit.
Well, if you were to kind of go through the process of being an adventurer or level, in the guild, then you'd be able to learn more recipes kind of thing. So that's kind of where that plays out. I would imagine the same thing. Same thing with, bastion. Like there would probably be a Wizard's Guild kind of thing, pretty much more or less the same set up.
So it would be an opportunity if there was, maybe to learn other spells and whatnot. and then, of course, we've. Yeah, probably like the location of, like, types of herbs or magical plants, magical creatures that you would use. So we'll play that. But yeah, if there's anything anybody wants to do with it or whatever, we can kind of figure that out.
and that doesn't always have to be during the sessions either. So it's a, it's a tool, a resource that's available for your characters in the world. And we'll figure it how you guys want to use it or if it needs to change or whatever else. but as you, as we're kind of learning about that kind of stuff, what we're going to say, you guys, we're in town for a couple days because your crew needed some time to unwind.
we had some pretty bad morale rolls and the and the adventure and the traveling so far. And not to mention all the different beasties attacking the ship. Kind of got them a little on edge. so as they've kind of had a little R&R, we kind of it was decided that how it came about a week until you guys decided to head forth in your adventures to go find that bast and,
Was I going to say, so while you guys were in town, though. What the hell? Here, let's do this. Everybody give me, Let's do perception. Yeah, that'll work.
Natural. 2432.
Nice. I'm rolling once again. Get him out of the way now! What are we willing for? I missed it kind of a public perception check. Perception. Okay. So, yeah, this is a this is the one that going to get a one on. You'll be fine.
A real real one. Ooh. 20 for a 25, actually, person, do me a favor for another d20, another d20.
to to do. Array of for and what says roll 2525. Not 20, not 20. If. And shadow had of 20. That's two of them. This time with the real dice. So here's what we're going to say. he.
As you guys were kind of going around town and everything, I will say it's going to be sass and shadow. That would probably pick up more of the rumors of that's kind of been going on in the area.
And, did so the things you guys kind of learn in town and, is that, the things that I kind of already displayed with, the, the character notes about this area, which is you guys have definitely learned about how this is kind of almost like run by various, gangs and, thieves guilds. kind of fall in the shadows, but it's kind of, not a well-kept secret for the most part.
As you spend some time in the area, you start picking it up and how, crime is kind of at a low, though, because most of these criminals tend to, not want too much crime in their own backyard, if you will. So people tend to stay on the straight narrow out of fear of the retaliation from these groups.
especially since, it's a it's a bit of a, a it's a pretty active port. you pick up about how there is a, an underwater kingdom to the north that kind of blocks it, where you're actually where I think you need as a map to understand this.
You should know that computer labs.
All right. Yeah. Here we go. So up here is the Karun Islands, where, kind of known as. Where all the pirates kind of more or less live, especially with the major city of Port Tudo. And, as you come down to the south here, here's your outing. Refuge. Refuge right down here. This little island down here that goes down towards what's called the Straits of Madness.
So, to the left of it is that lost sailor pass where you guys have sailed before. And as you go to the far left, the west, you'll see off more where the sass is from. And then the other turtles, and a little bit further west to that would be, this little peninsula is where a wide berth was.
But the problem here is where you guys are is over here on the right. This little landmass where I'm pinging and to the north. As you get into that, you get to some of the hard parts of the The Pirate Islands, and then there's an area up here where there's a lot of, like coral that comes out of the sea.
So it's almost like islands made of coral, it would seem. And then what that really is, is it's coral from this kingdom that's way below in the ocean, that's kind of grows all the way up, but it kind of protects the, the underwater kingdom that's down there. what you guys have picked up on is, that this little port is one of the few places they have any trust with, due to the fact that in the past, they used to not trust anybody.
And there was some deals, some fights and some wars and some deals finally made where they did end up trusting Thawne winds a bit more. So there's a bit of, various underwater, kind of like whether it's specific gemstones or coral or whatever that, sea life that's for, food or pets. This is a port that a lot of those things kind of came in and out of because of that.
as far as with the high rollers, the other things you guys start learning is that there are a few situations in this area. there's been there's an old graveyard to the south where every once in a while they have to kind of send a priest out there to kind of calm down, calm the area down, because some of the undead have, don't stay dead.
And, which is pretty normal, actually, believe it or not. most places try to figure out ways of handling that, but, lately, it's seems like it's been getting a little bit more out of hand. So there has been situations with that. your friends would have come to shadow and sass the two adventurers that you guys had met with your journey.
the, Nissa and, Yugi. they would have said that they have heard some rumors. people, they've heard some rumors. That sounds like, Garm, which was the, the plasmoid that had cut off his hand. they're kind of worried about the descriptions they've heard, though, is because they've also. It's made it almost seem like there might be more than one sighting of him at the same time kind of thing.
So they're trying to figure that out. So, yeah, there's a couple obviously other things going to put in there, but that's all right. Let's say that that's what you guys kind of picked up that's going on the area. So if you guys want to kind of investigate any of those things or you just want to let those things have nothing to do with your party, we can do that.
And then just kind of fast forward, but I will let you guys decide on what you guys want to do.
To let. so I would definitely like to look into that purpose and guild. That doesn't have to be right now with everybody. Are we trying to make it somewhere, though? So it's kind of go into that. Well, right now, you guys, your crew is kind of said that they need a little break. I mean, granted, you can just say, hey, fine, let's just go back on the ship.
But that's going to damage the morale with them. So they've hit. Okay, that was kind of the thing. now what? As far as your destination, you guys, is, the goal was to get to base. She's been asking you guys to get to her, but she has also told you guys that it's not like you have to get here right away.
and it's been kind of subtle, but pretty much the thing is, is that she wants you guys to gain power before you get there. And there was some times where she had kind of said some things to that to, so that message in the sense that she needs you guys to be more powerful before you guys get to where she's at to help her with her situation.
Where is that again? that's the whole city set up. I, missed. So that was kind of back in the the first game where the ladies went to the library and started researching about the coin, and then, the connection between her, the coin that, shadow had, whereas the and the orb, that. Where is it from?
Our location. Now. So it's going to be from our current location where you guys on the sphere to have a map. It's going to.
Look like it's not at any of the maps you guys picked up when you guys were, Because these are the maps that you guys had gotten that, somewhere. You guys had come across a bunch of maps. what I would do is this.
Was where I got a sense of, northward from where we're at. It's going to be, continue going east and a bit north. Okay. Would that be through the coral area? No, no, no, it's all over. It's all landlocked and that was actually one of the things that was kind of bring it up to you guys last week was that, you might need to figure out how you guys want to leave this town as well, because you guys have the only flying ship in the world.
when you guys came in the port, the captain kind of thought it might be a better idea if you guys laid a little low and kind of just sailed in, but exiting. Either you guys might have to sail out and then try to find an area to kind of go airborne, or you can just go airborne out of the port.
but who knows what the consequences might be. And so that's what I wanted you guys to kind of think about.
and then in the whole world at least, that anybody knows about, There's you. You guys had never seen flying ships. and this was kind of a bit of a how to do in school level when this thing was brought out and everything else. and then. Yeah. And of course, people with money would, might know about it.
they would have known, heard about the just the kind of the court trial, the court cases that had taken place with, the Elon Musk or fighting against Google for ownership of the ship and or rights to it all the way.
Okay. How do I show you the map?
Yeah, I know nobody.
as far as sailing or flying out of here, I think Saturn's instinct is definitely going to beat us. Stick with being low key. Like when we came in. Yeah, I think so too. Oh, so. Oh.
I wish I could quit, like, like security force while, like, do we have guys that we talked to on the ship or actually. Well, we're not here because we hired some people. what we'll say is that, the crew is kind of, they know that that they're responsible for the ship as far as its safety and security.
So they'll probably be they'll probably be having shifts kind of taking care of that. It's kind of what you hired them for was to take care of the ship. So that way you guys can do what you guys want to do. Are there, what, like what's the population like? it's a pretty big city. it's mostly humans.
And else for the, sorry, humans and halflings in this area. I believe it was. Oh, I see, initially, what are the reactions to Artie? Oh, that's a good point.
They hate him. Well, if that's the case, then I. That's why I want to know. Because if I need to leave him on the ship with the crew. I don't want him to be in danger. Well, what I will say is that, there definitely would be fear and apprehension, but the idea of somebody owning a dangerous animal, is not unheard of.
So if anything, there might be,
Someone who has say here. The money. If you take it in the town, you would feel that there would probably be some looks and everything else. But as long as you're able to show that he's trained and that you have control over him kind of thing, then it shouldn't be that big of a deal for him. Being a big head with the kids and a tie, a bow on his saddlebags, a big bow.
Also, Barlow and, bass, if you didn't catch this last time, we did get some money. So that's everybody's cut.
When? When did that happen? Begin towards the beginning or towards the end of the session. Did I miss that or was it the end? I think it was. Yeah, I think it was after you left. Yeah. You weren't feeling well, remember? I told them why? I told them I wasn't feeling well. She was high as a kite. I couldn't play the game, so I got high.
I guess distraction, but I guess he's in the news again right now, because I guess his home got raided by a bunch of cops, So he was like, fine, I'm going to use that as a security. Oh, and I would put that in the music video. So now he's getting sued by the police for invasion of privacy and whatnot,
Because they're trying this. They're like, oh, he's using our image. And he didn't get our permission and this and that. It's like, dude, you walked into his house. Wow. And they're public figures.
Yeah. Alexa, kitchen light off. Alexa, don't turn it off. but she was about to listen to you actually. Even though she can't hear you.
Oh. Oh, that's really small. Let's hear.
But regardless, I'll keep making it. I'll tell Artie to stay close. to be on alert. So to answer, but, chuckle I just put a new map in here. Kind of. It's kind of a hodgepodge map, but it'll work for now. So right here where I'm pinging. Oops, what was that?
So this is where you guys are right now. If I could ping again.
You don't see the ping. It's not pinging. That's at this on the map. There. Put that on the map layer.
That's outing.
And hold on. Give me a second. He's trying to get the right. I'm trying to clear out the other maps. It's for some reason my ping wasn't working so well. All right, so over here on the. There we go. So it's this little part right here is like, you could see, like this little area, this little blue here would be the straits of man that's going south.
So that's where outing would be. up here on the top is those Coron Islands. So you guys are on this little landmass over here on the right where I'm pinging. And as you go over the land here to the east where you want to go is here. So it's a pretty far distance. So we want to go to Saint Petersburg.
Yep. Pretty much. Yeah. Right now it's all pretty much mostly landmasses that are going to be flying over here. and in fact, it's I would, I would say is that this is some of the major old kingdoms here. but it's all like a lot of them are like, disconnect, like, that's sparsely populated, if you will.
So there would be, like, little, little areas of a high population density and then just lots of just land, maybe with like a few little villages or farms and stuff like that. So, especially when you follow some of the major roads that would go from where you guys are now. There's roads that go through this greenery up to the north here and up to some of the other communities that are up north of there, because that's where you get into a run.
And then north of that would be the islands of like Tail Token, where, Bastian did his studies. So but to the east is always this large desert, a very large desert, which is kind of kept most of these people safe for the most part, because it's told that far east of that is all types of monsters and beasts kind of thing.
So that's kind of what's going on there.
Okay, any.
So yeah, so it's a bit of a journey, but that's a lot of you guys land flying over ship, I guess we can go really high. Yeah. Yeah. How like, can the ship fly above the cloud line? Yeah, as you guys. I mean, as you guys know. Is it actually built to actually go to space? That's right.
So granted, the problem with space here, as you guys have also learned, is the fact that there's only one exit that you guys know of to really get out of here without having the little orbs, that allows you to kind of get through lots like this. force field of sorts.
Is. A lot of this world building stuff someone will do eventually. I just think it would be better for us to just sail this giant inland sea, sail the Mediterranean to the end, and then then fly out from there. Or do you want to fly out over the entire thing that looks like it was a long trip, or flying, I think would still be faster than sailing?
Yeah, it would work, but I think we should probably use discretion from trying to creatures who are more vulnerable. I think way up there. I don't know, know then kind of skips the whole thing. But. You snap your fingers and put us there. I don't have to do. Can't we teleport there? Don't we have something to get us to teleport?
Like the coin? That was exactly what was hinting at. Oh yeah, we do have a teleporter. That's right. Do we know how to use it effectively yet? Do we just haven't done it yet? Haven't done it yet? Yeah. She told us how. Theoretically. Yeah, we have the instruction manual, but.
Not yet. So getting there shouldn't be a problem. Practically.
The SAS wants to do the herbalist guild. Shadow wants to do the tattooist guild. Check it out. All right, guys, let's bring that. She's also. That is also a bit curious about learning about that underwater kingdom. But Guild first, unless the guild thing can be taken care of without the whole group. yeah. Well, let me see her.
I at least give you, like, a kind of a basic and maybe kind of help you understand.
You just find.
How long are we going to be here for holidays? I think the the the crew would kind of suggest that maybe a week would be a good idea. Okay. Yeah. So you're going to have a theory group or, you need to recharge the batteries. So.
I want to put on some music. That's what it was. So just to play. I'm assuming we've taken a long rest at this point. Oh, yeah. Yeah, yeah. nothing would have happened in the first couple days, at least. And so we kind of just kind of given a broad overview of how at least like the first couple days, if not the whole week.
I mean, that's up to you guys. That's what I'm saying. But you definitely can give yourself a long rest and go from there.
And then, I went, this is the link for the, what I've set up for the guilds in case. But what if you wanted to go into a guild? did I make,
That's just two guilds. they didn't give me any of them, so pretty much you when it comes to guilds is that there are, like, little like, little guild, like all the major cities. You'll find most of the major guilds, obviously, if you go into a small city or a village, there might be no guilds, maybe like a lay person associated with the guild in that area.
But they would all they would be part of a major guild of the nearest large city, if you will. and even though there might be different names for the different guilds, they all still technically all work for the same umbrella. I guess the easiest way I could think of like, is even there's like all these different Catholic churches, they all kind of still are part of the, the one in Rome kind of thing.
It'd be that kind of an idea. So even though, like, they kind of create their own little or I guess another way of thinking about it too is maybe a McDonald's has all the there's franchises. So, but if you go into like another city, if they, if you tell them that you're from another guild and whatever, it's kind of as if you're part of that guild as well.
There's a lot of deal somewhere and acceptance between the guilds as if that's one made, one main guild. Is it public knowledge who the guild overlord is? what I will say is the knowledge as far as who runs these things, is that none of them are run by any one person. they there seems to be most guilds that usually have a committee of some sort, and those committees are kind of usually also made up of some of the larger sub guilds, if you will use those that term.
Is that. So you will join a sub guild which is all part of that guild. And the, the biggest sub guilds would have some major voice on how the whole guilds are ran. what I need is though for you guys.
And one second here.
the reason.
So, as you guys come here,
To the. For the, herbalism guild. the major guild you find in this area here would be known as.
The verdant hand.
and for the tattoo guild.
Would be the.
It was to. And then for the tattoo, this area would be the etched canvas. so if you wanted to join them as an adventuring journeyman. Because if you want. That was kind of. The thing is that, there's hobbyist, and then there's, the actual professionals. If you're going to be a professional, you will not be able to be an adventurer at all.
even the hobbyist is more less about learning and more about just the association. Hobbyist is usually what rich people do because they don't really want to learn any of this stuff, but they want to say, oh yeah, yeah, part of this guild. So for you guys, you want to generally be what's called the adventuring journeyman, for that is, is cause, most of them are usually around 500 gold pieces to join.
if you have the proficiency. And from there, there's an annual fee of 100 gold. you can get the annual fee discounted if you take on jobs that, they could be like around a 50% discount, more or less, depending on the jobs. But by being part of the guild, you do get a 50% off the cost of the tools or whatever is appropriate if you buy that stuff from the guild.
So for tattoo stuff, you could buy that from them for 50% off. granted. Yeah, you think about the 500 you already spent and the annual 100. You have to buy a lot to really make up for the difference. But what's the discount? 50. Yeah, yeah. and it's but it's only if you're buying through the, through a guild.
And those are usually only going to be in large cities or ports. But I think with the tattooing anyways, it would probably be hard to find tattoo gear and inks in small villages, so that would make sense. Anyways, the one thing that I remember too is that, when you join, they do want, to be able to have access to whatever it is you guys learn and your trade.
So for example, with your sketchbook, they would want to be able to, to, to be able to look at it like once a year you would come to a guild house once a year, kind of let them kind of copy it or whatever, and they can take what you've learned out of tattooing. That's kind of how they kind of gained more knowledge for them.
but what about me learning? If they're looking at my sketchbook, what do I get out of it? So once a year around the anniversary, you can also attempt to see if they've learned,
So pretty much what will happen is like at least once a year, you'll be able to have a chance to see if you'd like. We're able to learn something new out of it, so it would be like you would when you had like the one year game. Now, like whatever the year is on the game calendar, you would be able to say to do a roll and see like how, how much you actually learned out of it.
And maybe you would be able to learn like maybe 1 or 2 tattoos just from the experience of being a part of it, that makes sense. there would also probably be other things that other opportunities while you're in there to, learn more. I could probably set up or maybe,
I think I'll second that. You would be able to, from time to time, also be able to buy new recipes or your for your case designs. But I didn't want to make it too easy to kind of give too much out of it. and move on to Sarsa. I'll be right back. Okay. Well, same thing with that would apply to you as well.
And so, yeah, if you guys want to join and yeah, you guys, we can play it after the fact. you would decide you would pay the 500 to join. but then you anything you need the buy for you. In your case, ingredients for most of the mage, the things that you're creating, any of the equipment you'd be able to get a half off, in your case, yeah.
They would also want you to have some type of a journal, though, that tracks your recipes and stuff that you've learned. And that's what you would kind of let them copy down from, you know. Oh, wait. Oh, yeah. No. Here's what I had set up was, when you. Won the six times a year you can go to a guild and, show them your book and,
You as long as you have it, as long as you've kind of tried to add some way and and then what they would do, and I said a but it would be like maybe a small fee that I think that where you'd be able to. Oh, that's what it was. I was going to give a selection. I would pick a few things that you might be able to learn, and then you would pick one of those that you were able to kind of learn out of it.
So I think what my, my thought process on this is just kind of like whatever the vocation is, whenever you have some downtime, maybe you're kind of learning about it, you're thinking about it. So as you kind of like meet with the people in your guild, you're able to kind of finally come to an understanding of maybe a formula.
And so now you there's a few different formulas that maybe you wanted, and then you get to pick one kind of thing. that's kind of what I was thinking. So same thing with, it would be with like shadow. Maybe she's thinking about different tattoo designs, and she understands how the magic of the tattoos work, that she thinks you might know how something works, but by talking to them is able to kind of come to a final understanding.
And then that she's learned a new one.
Okay. So that's kind of what I was thinking. don't do but yeah, we could set it up that decide, you know, either tonight or maybe the next game if you wanted to do it. and then we can always retcon it or whatever that you pay the 500. I'm not too concerned about that. yeah. It's not real gold.
But, yeah, there's, And then. Yeah, there's also ones for adventurers. So there's a thieves well, thieves guild that everybody knows about, but there's also even, like a specific forgery guild. they're usually do work with the Thieves Guild, though. But poisoners and disguises disguise people, though, tend to be more like I said. I just said there was all this thieves Guild.
Primal exploration is a type of guild, though, where Rangers and Druids tend to join. but these are also the ones that deal with navigator tools. Herbalism, apothecaries, fighters have a guild that tend to work on weapons, fighting armor, bards for Calliope. but those are usually like the based on your schooling. So like, whatever kind of bard school that you are.
but that's the place that you would be able to learn more instruments or music lore or history. What was the name of Helen or just the, let's see here the part. Well, it would be based on what kind of bard you are. but I actually would. Maybe there could be some sub schools based on it.
So. Because what kind of bard are you?
That may have out of here? How about your eye and acuity for duty, Bard at the, College of glamor? Yeah, for.
Cutie patootie Bard. Is that Bard would have it. Where, like, college of glamor would be the overarching kind of main ones. But in there you would find, like, little, like, clicks, I guess. and so in Thorn Twins, we will say other than.
Oh, I like this one. You find that the elusive symphony is the local guild for, glamor schooled, bards. So if you wanted to, you would be able to spend 500, join them, pay 100 gold pieces a year, but any instruments, and for you to, you'd be able to get books about history and lore and those kinds of things.
you'd have a network to be able to get to learn more about those. And that's really the trade for bards is to learn more history and kind of collect those tales as you kind of weave them into your, different songs. And, that's kind of because that's even like how the magic really works or bards is as you learn about these great deeds and write your music and your prose, you're kind of pulling from that power of that moment and even bringing it forth into modern times in some way.
So that's kind of why that's really important for bards. but I also had set up, there was artistic ones. And then of course, there's other, which is like tinkerer alchemy, even bounty hunters, have their own guilds. and that's both people hunting down criminals or groups that hunt down various types of creatures.
And then, of course, there's other types of guilds which are not really guilds that are considered in there, such as, the merchant Guild of Wide Birth. You guys have learned about when you guys were in wide berth. There's the money changer, Guild of Nature and, of course, when it also when you guys were in, wide berth, you had heard about Zenith Hours Thieves Guild, which is more of a gang, which there's a lot of those kind of there's thieves guilds that are really just gangs.
yeah, that's pretty much what I had kind of put together on that. So same thing with you. If Calliope wants to to join the elusive symphony. you don't have to decide this tonight, but you can decide what she wants to do with it and what she might get out of it. at the very least to with bards.
I would imagine, by being in the. Well, first of all, being in a guild, not being in a guild, and being in a major city, if you start trying to play, I would figure that they might even go after, like any type of busking. That's not kind of like how old Hollywood is when it comes to acting.
you're not really allowed. They tend to try to break up any nonunion work, so it's kind of how they protect it. So by being a part of the guild, you're allowed to pretty much play in any city. They probably would even be able to help you, line up. shows or whatever based on where you're going.
The come back to.
You, If anybody has any questions, we can answer them. Otherwise, I'm going to give like Jimmy another like ten minutes. So I'm not sure. Not. Yeah. Right. Yeah, I think so. I would probably like to, test out the new ship and everything. What would the new upgrades. Griffin want to, Well, I know we get this or not specific, but we do get some sort of magical fact based on item that we so they ship you, and anybody that's on the ship cannot be scribe upon.
Right. I yes, I was just going through our magic list or item list to see what, so you guys had made the one gemstone that you guys put in there. Meanwhile. And so it keeps it protected from scrying. And that. Yeah, the other, is there a, thing on the armoire, essentially, or wiki page on what the, ship can and can't do and like how to do it?
well, there is a page for the audacity here. You put that in the chat. okay.
I have a hard time navigating the answers like that, remember? Why do I know?
When I'm on. And what will that vault I'm trying to navigate to find that page where the audacity is. I see the same with the tattoos. The tattoo book. I can never find it unless you're one. Navigating. And I think there's. Because you guys, you guys still see ads when you're on there, right. I got to figure out how to there's a way because I have I upgraded my membership actually a couple months ago because there's a deal where it was like ten bucks more and that's it.
And I was like okay,
Let's see something here.
You don't do.
Don't wake me up. let's see here.
I think what I have to do is give you guys a, tier membership.
On my.
So, grandmaster is where you don't have any ads for anybody.
Either.
Yeah, I'm a grandmaster. You guys can. I don't see any, So I'm I'm. I'm looking at. Oh, yeah. Yeah. There's no ads. Okay, okay. So. Yeah, they then want us because I remember I looked at it before and I did see some ads, but that was before I upgraded to the Grandmaster.
When I should have just done those that.
Look. Yeah. If it doesn't show anyway. Okay? Just because I got to. I didn't like how they do their ads, because it kind of got in the way of everything. So.
so three members have looked into guilds while you guys were in town. like I said, you guys had learned about, various issues with the undead. also, rumors of Garm being around town. rumors of what it sounds like. Garm? I'm the plasmoid who cut off you guys hand.
Okay, yeah. So those are a couple threads. If you guys want to pursue why you guys are here, obviously, you're not gonna be able to have enough time to pursue both. Or you can just let those, situations play out the way they are and, decide to either sail, sail a little bit and then fly, or just use a coin.
So there's a lot of options of what you guys can do.
Can I ask somebody, stop somebody and ask them where the most popular tavern is? certainly. Let's see here you will say that you stop. And, gentlemen, as you asked him, what are the most popular tavern? Is, you see a little fear and fright, as he does notice your owlbear and toe. But then he realizes that the with you.
So everything's fine there. Now, I have a number where I have copied the.
World.
So, John. Yeah? If I were to. Just really go over this. Oh. Excuse me. It's the ship. If I were to create a gem with, say, like, I use trimmer flow, and then I use a level six, scorching ray and cast it into a gem, and then put the gem into the thing. Would it allow the ship to cast it?
I don't think that's a I don't think the idea was to put a spell in there. I don't think I have. It's been a while since I went through all that. I think the idea was to take a magic item and pretty much transfer it into a gem. So that way it would be like treating the ship as a person.
That's what you guys did with the, the necklace was you pretty much just transfer the magic energy into another item that the ship could use. Since the ship couldn't wear a necklace. It's more like that. So you then using putting a spell into, the ship? I don't think that's right. Okay. That's what I do with down here.
And for sure we do the, shadow walking, a secondary action.
it's. I know that it does use, fly because you do give it the spell fly, but that's something special because it's designed for that.
Yeah, yeah, it's the only one. The only spell that you really can transfer into the ship is fly. And that's when you. That's the whole point of that procedure. the burning of the gemstones is pretty much casting the spell fly on the ship. unfortunately, the ship does not have a permanent flying spell to it. Which one?
Note. And as a, spellcaster yourself, you would by this time, if you hadn't noted already, I would definitely be aware that, your ship's flight is vulnerable to anti-magic. Because the fact that it's not an actual magic item with the fly that can fly, it's actually the spell fly. So if you were to go into a anti-magic field with the ship, it would go down.
Well, I would stop flying, I would say, and be succumb to what it would be. What if we did this with the, flying broom? So if you were the flying broom, I think it's not vulnerable to anti-magic. It's not how it works as it's innate. Like the broom is constructed to be that magic. But anti-magic is not really anti-magic.
It's actually more anti-magic spell. The, I believe that's how it works. Let me double check something here. Yeah, maybe.
because I'm like, I have a great idea because that's what I was. That was in the transform with, bastion, where he was trying to dispel magic on something. But it was it wasn't a spell. It was an actual magic item. Yeah, because the Dispel Magic doesn't work on magic items, but, like, the spell magic would actually stop your ship from flying.
however, there might be. Actually, doesn't feel like it would shut it down temporarily while it's in that field. Yeah, like like beholders, eyeball kind of thing. So if you flew into a, like a beholder. Yeah. You crashed with the broom. But as soon as you looked away, you'd be able to fly away. So it doesn't just.
It just suppresses it doesn't. It doesn't dispel just one. But, But there might actually be thinking about it, though. There might be a way of making it analogous to the flying broom. But, the reason same thing you guys did with the necklace.
Okay. We have a galley and a dining hall on the ship. Right. Or dining room? nonsense. Well, the only real dining. Yeah, we have that big table. The captain's quarters. Yeah, the captain's quarters or the library room. there's a large table in there with their. There is a galley right where we store all our food and stuff.
Yeah, yeah, there is, in the bottom deck, there is a place where there's, like, currently there's a bunch of barrels in there. then there was another room. I forgot what I had set up in that room. I think we shoved a bunch of dragon meat in there, didn't we? The dragon meat actually went, some of that went actually into the kitchen area where there's, a.
Cupboard. that was like a preservation kind of thing. It doesn't allow the ate, the food, the spoil or age. But that's smaller kind of cupboard kind of thing. That's the kitchen. I know you guys put some in there.
And then, of course, there's a bunch of, like, hammocks on the bottom floor for the crew. Isn't the kitchen the same thing as a galley? I don't know, but your little kitchen is the little. Yeah, right. I think a kitchen is a galley.
Where you do your food prep. Like you have a little. Yeah. You have a little kitchen area. It's on the same floor is where you guys, bedrooms are. It's like the the. And I don't remember the front of the ship. I was gonna try to remember the bow. Yeah, I just had an idea the parlor would like to.
Possibly. This works to go and in, like, certain locations, like one in the galley, one in the captain's quarters and one. But you know where we are? Dining area was like to install, the, caps or faucets and then imbued the ship with the alchemy jug. I was thinking the same thing. The.
That would be cool. Just to have beer and water and all that shit. We need any type. Everybody's mayonnaise. So it sure that, like I said, the waiter on the accordion building in the galley, you just open up the mayonnaise, tap out with the mayonnaise. And it would be good. We had some tea. Are you thinking what you mean?
yeah. I don't know exactly how it would work, because the alchemy jug. You usually have to choose what you want each time you do it. I don't know.
It's just that one liquid for that. The other thing. So, I don't know, it was just an interesting idea either. Oh, we could try it. And it doesn't work. You lose the alchemy job, right? Or can you? Do we flood the gem back into the item, I think. Let me see here. I got remember how I had that set up, as it was taking the effects of bonuses from magic items and transfer to the gem so that the ship will benefit from them.
To do this, you need a gemstone which to you is based on the twin, or you need an item for which the magic property once it was still in the ship cast. We also directed at these objects. so what is. This here? Alchemy jug is. That's very uncommon.
That's a common. And.
Uncommon.
So it holds a gallon of liquid, weighs 12oz, 12 pounds.
I don't, didn't I make a table for that? Like, how much of a cost?
Of just on the rarity of the item. You. Yeah. This. If I had on my rules. So here's the thing is, you never know how it's going to play out. All you can do is do it and see how it plays out.
So we could just get an or we could just get some water or some oil. One of them too. I mean, yeah, I, I assume just make sure that we have it set to one for the day.
Acid and basic poison wouldn't be too bad, but honey would be really Illinois. I don't to have those in my notes. Is it only a one use per day or is it just one liquid per day? But you can chug more times. And, once you use the jug, it's done for the day. You choose an action and that's, oh, liquid from the table below to cause the jug to produce the chosen liquid.
Afterwards, you can uncork the jug as an action and pour that liquid out up to two gallons per minute. The maximum amount of liquid the jug can produce depends on the liquid you need. Once the jug starts producing a liquid, it can't produce a different one or more of one that has reached its maximum until oh yeah, it's only once one kind of day.
So day. So here's what I will say.
Right now, what happens? But end thinking about it. We are going to go to a massive desert oh eight gallons of water. These do, viability by.
So I just wanted to I think I just used a generic table, for pricing. So,
So this water is able to transfer the magic if it's out of the jam, like, put it back into the anhydrous tanks, then. Which leads me to. Oh, can I buy jams and then transfer magic? Well, that's. You have to have a jam. You have to have a jam of value based on the magic level. And that's. I have an idea what you you as a caster, as a person who has learned quite a bit about magical item creation, is that sometimes what people like to do is throw a lot more into the mix, just in case.
In other words, if and I'm trying to find what the value is again, but I can't remember, right. And so like if you want to do it with you in common, the magic item is like, okay, yeah, here it is. This is something. Oh, God. Then everyone's doing their own personal I want I know there's a table and I can't find it right now.
It's an uncommon, like 500. Like 500 to 1000. Uncommon is 1100. Here is what was in there. So what I would say is this to do an uncommon based on this table I'm looking at right now and I'm I'll have to I'll create an actual the final table. What it should be. But we'll say right now it's 100 to 500 gold pieces.
So if you have a gem that's 500 gold pieces, there's a pretty good chance it might be what you want to do. If you go more than that, it's even greater likelihood of things working out. And that's the thing is, when it comes to magic, item creation is that once you figured it out, like let's say, well, it's going to cost me 500 gold pieces to create this magic item, but there's still a chance it might not work if you put a lot more money into it, there's a greater likelihood of working out.
Magic is based on how much money you invest in. It turns out. but that's also because it's whether it's the materials you're buying maybe means you're buying better grade the material, or just actually sacrificing gold and gems into magic, because that seems to be how magic works, is that if and then like even like you guys have on the table, if you guys can have a, what's it called, a Heroes feast in your ship.
If you guys sacrifice, gold gems or, a gem encrusted bowl or goblet, it's automatically already on there. but it's the same way that that spell works is that you are sacrificing this gem encrusted bowl or goblet of at least a thousand gold pieces. And as that thing disappears, it becomes part of that magic.
So. So what I'd say is, if you want to take the, What's it called that we were just talking about here? jug. The jug, the jug. If you put, depending on how much more of that gem is, more than 500 gold pieces will determine possibly how that jug might work, how the magic of that jug is transferred into the ship.
Oh, my. Okay. That's possible. So the. I do believe we should get the arrow keys off, so that's for sure. Anybody? Well, you only have to pass this ship. I think that's what he's saying is nobody has to cast it. We just have to, like, put the money down if you like. It's on the audacity page.
Oh, we just have to have the ball. Yeah, we just have to have the bowl or the goblet or whatever. And then the ship does it. No, I was thinking of transfer the spell of that. Okay. Never mind. So I thought he was talking about putting it into a jam as part of the ship, so. No, what I was.
But it's just something that. Yeah, I think it obviously, I think we all forgot that the ship has the captain's quarter has a dining table that, if you were once only one time a day, though, if you sacrifice, that that item or. Well, if you have an item that is an across the across a bowl or goblet that's worth a thousand gold pieces, or if you don't have that item, you can use just 1500 gold pieces of gems and coins.
So because the fact that doesn't have the artistic merit of creating that that piece, you can put throw a bit more in there and it will allow you to be able to get that feast from that table, the the gold or gems or the item is sacrificed to the table. And you eight people would be able to have the full benefit of the spell.
okay. So that is a feature that's already, I believe that's how you should look for shadow card to acquire. So that's the that's the tavern you learn about where it's actually not too far from the port. the as you get around the port are more of the seedier bars, but this is actually probably the nicer one where some of the ship captains tend to, to kind of go to, or the people from the ships with a little bit more wealth, if you will.
it's not a oh, it's on like it's overly expensive, but it's just nicer. So it's. Yeah. Patterns coin and I go there. Anybody want to join while we're here? Yeah. Yeah. We show a bunch of the ship that we have. You can certainly try Nexus. I'll go with you.
so we'll go to the captain's coin before we do the captain's coin, let's just, we can take out the selling real quick, and there can be stuff that you guys do. we don't need to have a shopping NPC in episode. You'd be able to find various places to sell whatever it is that you're trying to sell off.
what specifically are you looking to? I mean, we have an item that's worth 250 gold. We have two more pieces. It's worth 250 gold. Five out of maintaining ingots worth a thousand gold apiece. An asset just like in ring.
So any of the what else can just make life easy on everybody right now? I'll. I will just kind of wave the hand on it. So any of the art materials, like any of the art pieces, we'll see that you're able to find full value for that. especially since you actually with that stuff, you would be able to sell through the, the ports network, the one that gave you the little black card.
They'd be able to kind of help fence that kind of stuff for you. and that's exactly what they're for, is when you find, these kind of treasures, it's an easy way of unloading it. Did they take a cut? well, they'll probably take a cut when they sell it. and, but what we'll say is, if you any like, anytime you get, like, whatever it was, you were saying that there was a value to it, like a painting or jewelry or whatever you may, I'll say that you can get 100% value of whatever I gave you on the number.
If you sell through those networks. So that's not a thing. All right. That's, the magic items. if we you we could figure out how much you'd probably be able to get for that. So if there's any if there is magic items, like you said, the sling ring. we can look at that. But I don't want to presume you are going to sell.
I know you said it, but. No, I was just wondering.
So. And I. I'll give you guys trust on that. If you guys do have any of the art. what's the what's the term that they use for that anyways? It's, it's it's art.
But, we could also use some of those. We could use those things in the heroes table. Right. Well, if it's a it has to be a jeweled encrusted. oh, yeah. Or gems or coins, but not other. It can't be like a gold bracelet worth 500. It has to be like a gem or 500 coins. Right? I have, I was essentially just going to add up on all of her paintings just to make a pile of art objects.
So you would usually just sell that imports. And like I especially like okay, the ingots, like I would just say let's just trade for scraping gems. So well, do you remember the the gnomes that are making the socket armor. Could, could they use that.
Like they're building armor for us and stuff. Could they use those in trade like knock off some of the price? If we give them the adamantine ingots? Yeah, $1,000 off the 900. what I would say is that based on your understanding of communication with them, like they would probably take it for the full value of it. So, I mean, it would be the same as giving them if it's a thousand, if the bar is worth a thousand gold, they would they would obviously knock off a thousand gold.
They'll it's it's it's a, it's fair trade. Yes. See it's not like you're not getting a fair trade. It's like was you just using it. You're using it as money and that's what it's for. It's just meant to be another. Yep. Another way of making of spending money. Yeah. Let's give it to the gnomes that are right now.
They're back on the flying island. So, you guys don't really have what if it's the same thing? What would I hold on to it? Do?
It's just it. It's just flavor, really. At the end of the day, more portable than something going. Yeah, I guess there's that too. But I mean, like a thousand coins versus a bar of an ingot bar. I don't know, it doesn't matter us, though. It doesn't matter. But a thousand in a gem. It's just a little gem. Yeah.
And we could potentially use it for magic. We could use it for the. I see, we just said. Yeah, gem gems are definitely the ideal currency. Really. Because of that, it's they way less. And that's why a lot of people and and like you said, yeah, you can use gems in different magics. That's why gems are a whole currency of its own.
and if you want gems, you can buy gems from these ports but up to a certain value. So it's not like there's unlimited gems. Same thing like coloring up the platinum. There's not unlimited. So there's a cut off point on that based on the port, based on the day, based on the DM. But any of that, that part will actually need my input on.
If you want to color up or either two platinum or gems, which you know, but.
Either. And that limiting would be pretty valuable. So are you going to sell anything right now, Sam or. Wait. Hold on. What? Checo booty. Let's talk about the adamantium bars. I would like to hold on to those. Okay. That's question. crafting, armor or weapons?
Is that is a very rare material. And it's very strong armor and like. Yeah, that's. Yeah. There's a little specialty to the fact that it's adamantium as well as the fact, because, I guess the I don't know how that would work in my so much of the. Pedantic details in my head.
So outside of any artwork, is there anything else you do you want to sell or buy? So. Nope. I was just trying to clear up some of our stuff. Understandable. So I'll say this or let's go.
Ahead.
how much do you want to do it? How many do I have? One bar. Five bars. okay. Yeah, that's. That needs to be protected and saved.
So. Okay, you guys, find the captain's, coin? Has, gleaming, whitewashed walls, a polished teak color that's flanked by polished brass lanterns. You see these, like, wrought iron railings that, curve around this spacious balcony. That's, even though it's a little bit away from the harbor, it's a little bit on the higher streets. So you get a nice little.
It kind of overlooks the harbor based on its, positioning. You see a large, intricately carved wooden sign. It shows an interlocked coin and a ship's will. This is the tavern symbol. you step inside, you see polished oak floors and these plush crimson carpets that lead to a central bar crafted from a massive salvage ship's mast.
there's nautical instruments like sexton's encompasses all the all over the wall. Kind of like a, like, Applebee's. In that sense, I guess, maps of distant lands and portraits. Some portraits of, legendary captains would appear, there's like, a few. It looks like even you, you almost get, like, a sense that some of them are captains that most people would know about if you were really in the trades.
there's, it's pretty warm and inviting. There's, like, more more sailor. sorry. More ship captain than pirate or sailor kind of thing going on here with, oil lamps and, crackling fire with a grand stone hearth and, there's, you do hear a it seems that the bard that is playing currently is playing a lute.
a little bit of a nautical twist to it. from time, you can kind of hear where the bridge goes into, kind of like a, a sea chanty that you're pretty sure you even heard your crew singing from time to time, or humming when you guys were coming here. of course, it seems as you're noticing is that it looks like the menu mostly is, seafood, obviously.
But it seems like this one that has, a few little, like, says, like, exotics. some of them will even have, like, little names of the maybe the ports that they're from.
the I would say right now we'll say it's been about like 3 or 4 days in. So we'll say three days in and the,
We'll say that it's only about maybe half full right now, but three days, we'll say it's like, it's getting to be around like dinner time. So let's say about like, four is.
This you. Oh. What are we doing here? So I just wanted to see, like, what's the best local shopping? Like, where's the market? When's the market? what do they think of the guilds?
are you asking people, or are you just kind of picking up, or do y'all go to the up to the bar? you see that the the bartender? he definitely has, like, the look of a captain, but probably gave up that life at some point. And, As you come up, he plays it on a little thick at first or is like, oh, we have an.
Your finest ale, sir. Oh, yeah. Sure. And he kind of drops out pretty quickly. the finest ale that we have on stock right now is,
Going to be the,
It's the the the West Mali. It's a, the West Mali. it's it's a it's a pretty strong. No, it's, brewed by a bunch of monks, to the north. golden color, spicy fruity aroma, sweet malty flavor, and a very dry finish at the end.
Right. I'll buy around for everybody. All right. what you're looking for. Whoever's with us. Barlow, 700. Right. Not that son of a bitch. no, that's just you there. Just a silver each. Okay. So just take off whatever the silver you wanted each for. For each West. Molly. Okay. And you do notice as you do drink it.
It does have a spicy and fruity aroma with a sweet malty flavor and a dry finish. Right. Delicious. Oh, we've been hearing all of these, guilds, and we've, you know, got interested in potentially joining somebody. What do you think? Like, what is the what are the layman's think of, of these guilds? Are they worth it? It depends on what it is, what craft you are getting into and how serious you are about the craft that you are studying.
I, as a tavern keeper and part of a, guild, that deals with, brewing of ales and and liquors, so it really just comes down to an this is probably is one of the major ports for a lot of the guilds. It turns out, I think it's the associations with other types of guilds, if you will.
But, does the, benefit generally outweigh the cost? if you're I would say that if you are actually in any trade, definitely, most of the people in the trades, that's how they get their jobs. It's how they, they perfect the craft and that's how they ensure that they're not ran out of the, trade.
We're really interested in the, tattoo guild. It's here. But we're not staying. Well, that's, so if you're new to how guilds tend to work, is that if you are part of that guild you go to when you go to another city, the they tend to have a guild, and it's as if you are part of that guild as well.
So you get the same benefits with all the other guilds. They just tend to have different names, but they all work together enough that it's all just really one umbrella. It really is making sure that, for example, in your trade of doing tattooing, they, How did you know? You just said that you just it I did, didn't I?
The, ale is strong. If you go into a city and you want to start tattooing people, if they were to find out you were tattooing there and you are not part of any guild, that's where the problems lie. I see. Is there like a, enforcer to these? Like it people going around making sure everyone's following the rules?
I wouldn't say so much like that. It's more like, if one of the guilds, people of whatever the trade is, sees you practicing and they find out you're not part of the guilds, they will find ways of pressuring you. It's not like they can call the police on you, but there's always, Negative stories of people who have tried to, get away with nonunion work, if you will.
I guess that's fair. what about are there any good market days or, market days? I think they based mostly on when the ships come into port. almost every day, there's some type of a market day would seem, unless, of course, there's no ships coming in. But with how busy our ports tend to be, there's always some type of a market going on.
We also heard that there's, this graveyard issue. last I've heard a little bit of that myself. that usually a problem with undead? I mean, there's always problems of the undead coming back. usually you can find a necromancer in charge, responsible. Is there a guild for that? not one that would speak publicly.
most places, thought ones included. Necromancy is tends to be frowned upon. Sometimes it was being sarcastic. Well, but, I mean, I'm sure there are, I know that magic even you have to be careful with, magic and thorn ones. By the way, since I'm taking you right outside of, The. Well, like many major city, there's a magic in the in the city proper is a little frowned upon.
And looked upon, suspicious. That's all. Is that all magic, or is that, like, natural or arcane or. I will do anything. divine. Arcane gets the the the double look a little bit more. but any magic? I am not saying there's only a few spell. There's only some spells that are pretty much if you were outlawed and and at least Thawne wins.
anything that's going to cause any major harm or anything like that, but using magic for any nefarious purpose definitely makes, that crime even worse. And, that's always it's a suspicion of magic and city. What? I mean, this is true of many cities. back when I was a, a c c minor, if you will.
there was a lot of ports where we had to be careful because our ships tend to have a ships and mage. They tend to help to deal with, situations of weather or creatures. But, we always had they always had to be mindful when they hit the ports because, doing too much magic in cities can get you in some trouble sometimes.
I'm asking. I'm awfully curious about this cemetery, but I don't want to go in there shooting off magic and then getting in trouble for trying to help. Well, the the the cemeteries are outside of the city limits, so. Oh, well, that's kind of there. And yeah, there's all types of magics I did in the every once in a while that we've had to, send various clerics out that way.
I think that that's been the problem is, one of the clerics has been, out of town for some reason. And, I think that that's causing a little bit of problem where there's a few stragglers that kind of wake up and start coming back to town, if you will. What kind of creatures are out there? besides these undead plaguing the cemetery?
Well, I mean, you've been outside of, our port, outside of our city. So you know that most areas have some type of creatures always out there. just like as you go further east, down south, you're going to have a little more dragons down that way out here. probably the reason I don't know.
Is actually, I don't even know what creatures. We haven't had anything come to town outside of that. Like I said, a straggler struggle. undead coming down from the cemetery. It's been a while since we've had any real problems, though. above table, is the city fortified, or is it just open to the forest or shrubberies? Whatever's around it, I find might not, rebuilding.
I believe that there were some, like, city walls to it. but, I would imagine there would have been. I think, actually, I think this one has to sections, if I remember, I should have been more further.
Left of the map of, world anvil. Yeah. I have a map. Here, let me do this for you.
Like.
You go. Popular. Generally peaceful. Port city, West coast. A room to side was considered dirt.
it's often referred to as the Guardians. Greece. that was the, landmark you guys sailed under, population approximately 75,000. but around 15,000 of that come or goes. but yeah, you'll see, like, there's a, there actually is, the major walls and like, as on the north separates Old Town versus, northern Thorn winds and Ashton Point to the south, there's, in the inside of the wall is a stairway reach outside of it.
You have, one gate and bone arch. you have the mountains. So which is anybody else? And try to tackle this undead problem besides this cleric that is gone? for that, you'd have to ask, I guess, some of the religious folk, my, my priority is making sure that the captains are, able to unwind after their, days at sea.
In.
Any, odd rumors abroad? We just sailed in a few days ago, so we haven't really been landlocked for a bit. You know, River, give me, either a charisma check or a persuasion. Oh, my Christmas luck. So it's just a gauge. Kind of how he's picking off. He's picking up off you, that's all. Both a zero. I will smile agreeably, I really can I give her and I give her guy.
What do I have? You don't have guidance. I have kind of. I'm pretty sure Barlow's smile gave her a disadvantage on that roll. Yeah, I try not to show a lot of. Technically, she. It's okay. I rolled a 16.
This that I could see Barlow, given this creepiest smile ever, be like, yeah, yeah, that's a disadvantage for sure.
so you're curious about some of the rumors? I just if there's anything that's been, I know there was a political upheaval over in, family own area. We've heard about that. So I'm just kind of curious if there's anything else that's been going on that's heard across the world. I don't know, fairly own. Didn't hear much about that.
out here, you're looking at, well, as you go, fits the south towards the Straits of Madness. There's, there has been a talk of a ghost ship down there. A ghost ship. Some claimed it was called the Drowned or Regret. It had. and that's you said, through the Strait of Madness. Madness? Yeah. Straits of madness.
What was it called again? The ship was called the Drowned Regret.
Yeah. There's been a few sightings. I haven't really heard anybody having any real issue with it. Just, sometimes late at night, people swear they've seen this, ghostly lights. by the river, of course, if you're going to go back out to the sea, you guys know, to the north of the, Dead Sailors Pass is the, the pirate Islands of Karun?
not too much I've heard lately up there. That's it. This underwater kingdom we've been hearing about. So it's a name for that to. Is that a place that people can visit, when no one's really allowed there? some of their, merfolk do come to our town from time to time to do, to handle trades.
but no one's really allowed. They're outside without an invitation. they tend to look at anybody coming towards their, area as an act of aggression. And so it's tended to, be avoided at all cost.
I guess that makes sense.
I had I mean, for that to.
Apply to barkeep down for a refill. All right. Yeah. It's, if you're going to get the same, it's, a silver each. Are we all, in here? I can mark off the silver. Yeah. So I'm just getting myself. Yes, I want another ask for that. And that actually works. we'll say it's, Yeah. The, that kingdom is called a coral haven.
for Sleeping Souls.
I wanted to find a map, and I put a different name there, but we'll say at least it's known by Coral Haven. Here.
Been a mark off for gold for two rounds of drinks, and then a two silver tip. Well, thank you, lady. I didn't get your name, actually, so I'm not trying to be rude. Shadow. And this is Artie, as he's sleeping on the floor.
I appreciate the information. I haven't really been anywhere. So any new place I go to, curious? No worries. Yeah. people just call me Flint. And, there's always something going on around here. People tend to come and go pretty quickly through here. They get what they need and move on somewhere else. What's the weirdest thing that you've seen?
The weirdest thing that I have seen.
I think I saw an ant try to put some bread up a stair. Was.
It fits.
yeah. All right. One what races? he's human is, older gentleman. okay. He's got a pretty thin beard. but, you get the feeling like he might have been with chips off and on. It's hard to like, but he definitely has a little bit of, a look of somebody that's been on a ship.
And you said we would know that, fencing items would go through the ports. Yeah. Portsmouth. Yeah. That was the horse. You guys have been set up with that network. That's through the ports. That was when, you guys had gotten the black card that allows you guys to have an easier access to getting, trading your coins and everything.
It's because of your guys's status with, the veil and having, becoming lords and ladies has kind of open that up to you guys. the, would I be able to find out sort of discreetly, if there's any black road locations? okay. You would. Signs. Yeah. No, you would definitely know. when you were at the port, you would definitely see,
Like, drop off points. Like you would see, like, the different, hobo signs, if you will, knowing where to go and what to do if you need to contact somebody or anything. Yeah. Okay. Yeah. Let's do that. At some point. But also, let's you guys think it would be good for us. We heard rumors for that. didn't have the guy.
What's the name of the town? Don't you think we should try and recover that for, That Garm is here? Yeah. Farm summons. Have you heard that Garm was around? Yeah. That's what Nissa said about her baby. It was back. His arm. Her. Oh, sorry. I broke it off. Yeah. She, Did she say where the sightings were?
Look, were they here? What else say? Yeah, we did kind of touch base with you, too. since you guys got the high scores. that said that, just let you guys kind of kept you guys in the loop on what was going on, and that they have been hearing a lot, finding various rumors and stories that sounded like him.
But they're confused because it sounds like they also found it seems like you might have been in multiple places in the city at the same time. so when she asks, they didn't give you any particulars of where they had seen them. Lint. What's the weirdest thing that he's seen? so, what about sleeping? A have you ever seen this?
And she'll kind of vaguely describe Garm, a guy with a wooden face. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I saw a picture in a book once. I've heard a few stories of this gentleman that's been around the town. Sounds like he's been kind of staying out of any, major shop or anything, but, I've heard descriptions of. There was, two ladies.
I come in here actually looking, asking the same questions about, about questions about the same individual. Oh. Where is, in in town. Is there a certain sector that he was seen in? I think some of the most of the rumors have been, coming out of, arched bone arch that tracks what's in the bone arch besides the cemeteries.
Yeah, well, the bone arch is kind of the, the dividing line between us and, the old cemeteries. Kind of where it gets its name from the, it's the more one of the older, rundown areas. Not as old as, say, northern thorn ruins, but, actually. One of the actually would be older now. And they think about it just looks a little nicer in some ways.
The northern thorn ones, thorn ones, northern thorn ones just kind of let themselves go and tend to look older. But, it's still a little bit of a slum. I mean, that's why it's outside of the, the city gates proper.
And just to verify that the two women that came asking about this individual, I'll describe, this an extra. Yeah, that would that would be them. Yeah. The Dragon Ball over them. little elf. Yeah. Little. She's like six feet tall. Who else? Yes. Elfin dragon boy. Yeah, he stole something from them, and we're trying to help them recover it.
Yeah, they, they didn't tell me too many details, but they did say that, they were trying to find them, and they were pretty sure that they might have been in town. And they'd heard a few stories before they got to me. That confirmed the form.
One of. We should get Ahold of them. Help. Help with the investigation. I might be able to know, track out the area that they might be. Might want to fence it. He's trying to get rid of it or. I don't know. Well, I think it's a powerful artifact. I don't know that he was trying to fence it so much as use it right.
The, like the glove that she had on her hand. you're asking DM like, do we know what his intention was for her glove? You do not know. all all that, you know is that she talked about how the hand was. I don't remember exactly what I might have said during those sessions, but I will pretty much allow you to know that, they probably would have trusted you enough to give you the idea that the hand was a, a cursed relic from an apprentice of Vecna.
Right. And she was supposed to, Yugi was supposed to be, like, a great weapon for this cult. That, turns out, was dedicated to this. to this apprentice. And so they ended up bringing her back from the dead and putting this hand on her, hoping that they would, like, have, like, a brainless, kind of weapon. But Iggy was able to kind of retain her essence, if you will, so that she was able to actually control.
She was just came back from the dead, but not as a mindless, kind of thing, like they had hoped. So she was able to escape and, with the help of Nissa, and so then, since then, they've been trying to kind of originally they were trying to hopefully find more of what was going on with the cult and, until her hand was cut off.
Where are we staying? Are we sleeping on the ship?
That's up to you. Yes, I don't mind. I don't mind staying asleep. I'm very comfortable there. Yeah, same. Feel like that's probably feel safer there. Yeah. Well, it was. It was great talking to you, Flint. you two, long as you guys in town be sure to come by. Absolutely. And I'll put down another gold piece. Definitely.
When you're in town, come back.
Do you have any way of getting hold of either one of those two? I don't think so. Hey, what else is there? Because you had already talked to, while you were in town, they probably would have told you where they were staying.
Yeah, it's probably the river. You guys are gonna go help them, right? Yeah. That arm, I mean, that's kind of fucked up. Happened on our ship under my watch. I know, on a particularly, like that. Yeah. I mean, I think I think we should follow those rumors. And then maybe we can go punch some ghosts. You know?
What did you say, Barlow? That you might have, like, underground connections. You. I can check the vents. Market. I'll head back to the dock and see what I can find. so just let me know where they're staying, and I'll meet you there.
could we meet back here in a couple hours? We'll meet at their place where they're singing. Okay. Yeah, let's do that, ladies. So that weakens a little end called the Sleepy Seahorse. The sleepy. What is seahorse? Sleepy seahorse tavern, not too far from the port. A little bit. in the shadier kind of area. but it seems it's a little low cost, but also kind of in the shadows, if you will, like.
See, it's a place that people like to go if they want to kind of, stay low, if you will, and not make a big presence of themselves. Your sleeping. we don't need to roleplay this, but while Barlow's doing his thing, Nissa or Nissa, shadow wants to find where, like, whatever store or stall or whatever that the, underwater kingdom people come see if there's any like, cool trinkets she can find or shells or something that comes from that.
Sansa's curious about them to. So she'll tag along if there's like a, I don't know, even like a chart we can roll for them or something. A trinket charter. You get this here.
Are there sea elves in this world or just the mirthful? Yeah, yeah, there's both. And I would say that you're picking up, like, those are the two types of people that seem to live in that area.
Other. Civilians say. And these you do find there is a, kind of a smaller shop. and it actually is, manned by a cloth.
Let's say.
The shop has the enchanted trinkets of Coral Haven. Pretty to the point. is that what it's called? Coral Haven? Yeah. Coral Haven is the the kingdom of that is up there. and so you see various pieces of, definitely like the coral and, pearls, various, even like some, like, shark tooth and, the necklaces kind of thing you're seeing.
there's quite a few bits of, what's it called? Scrimshaw. Kind of, bone carved into all types of, various, things. some of them even look like they kind of slowly shift a little bit and maybe move like little bits of, not like full on animation, but just a little bit of a kind of, like a flow about them.
What are they scrimshaw like? carved? like, usually whalebone and carved bone. Like the little picture things. Yeah, yeah. what else is. Yeah. Before I go into the story, I want to cast, detect magic through my ring. okay. And then go and store and see if there's anything that pops up. All right. so as you do see, a lot of the scrimshaw has a very slight, good game because that does tell you the school and everything.
Right? I think so. It tells me the school of magic and so you're getting, like, an illusion kind of, vibe off the a lot of this stuff in here. looks like the scrimshaw is a bit of, like, illusion magic to kind of just kind of make it fit, I guess I'm thinking about in my head, but it's not as apparent.
But you know how how in Harry Potter, like the, the animation, like the little portraits. And it's almost like that where, like, you're watching like this little like, etching like this little black etching that's on some of the scrimshaw. But then, like the where the waves look like there's like little ocean current, like little ocean lines, and it looks like the slow waves and there kind of thing, there's like one where there's like a mermaid, where the hair is just slowly kind of moving a bit.
Is there one where there's like a crack in or some crazy, like the turtle dragon or something? As definitely you see some of the sea turtles, as you do kind of go through. You do see, there is a, there dragon turtle. there is an avatar. Is there one with the dragon turtle?
Give me a perception, perception check or investigation. Okay. Okay, okay. Oh, it's just it's just two animals. okay. 27 perception. So as you kind of like going through and your perusing, you do definitely. See, there is a, you see. Like, I can hear.
The. Children. Right behind you now there. It almost looks like a, like a large tusk. and this one, actually, it was kind of hiding behind some of the other pieces. But what you see is that it's actually been carved first into it. Were, like, this weird kind of,
Just weird movements, almost of carvings into the sides of this, large, I want to say about, like, a foot tall. It looks like a large tooth, but these, like, intricate carvings all through it. And then you do notice this blackened scrimshaw that, shows a on the bottom. It looks like a kingdom. and you, as you look at the details, you see various, mermen and see people slowly kind of swim around in that area and behind the this large, castle like type structure.
You see, there is a crack, and that's kind of looking like it's swimming up towards as it gets to the top of the tooth. And the the actual carvings gets less into it, and it's just the tooth you can see the top, I guess, would appear to be the top of the water. And then this line goes all the way around the whole tooth and off to those side you see what looks to be maybe, the represent the coastline.
And you notice with that score, you just got it almost looks like you a it's meant to represent Thorne winds. In fact, by the river Thorne winds and the underwater and coral Haven. Well, so on the top of the tooth, you see where it looks like it hits the coastline. And Thorne winds, and just underneath the water is that large crack and trying to come up towards it.
okay. That's you look at the, what's it what's weird is above the water line. You see the in a kind of, it's very light and faint, meant to look like the legs that you saw. But you notice none of that actually is underneath the ocean. And there's, scrimshaw. Whereas in real life, obviously, it's inside the ocean.
And it's almost as if they didn't want to represent any of that parts of Thorne when underneath that line.
She'll ask the proprietor how much it is, and she wants to get that one. Oh. Oh, yeah. I didn't realize I had that out. Who is it for? Sale? Well, it was on the table. No, no, no, that's that's fine. yeah. Everything's for sale. Oh. Do you know who carved this beautiful, it has a bit of a shaky pedigree.
the the artist is, not very well known, and, Thorne wins or really above the ocean, proper, if you will. so, yeah, I could sell it to you, though, for five gold.
Yeah, yeah, absolutely. Five gold. And then she just wants to look for, like a coral necklace or bracelet or something. Bright coral. That's something that she's never seen before. certainly. yeah. So there's all different types. you see coral or pearl necklaces of, all different types. what I'll say is, you do see one that kind of stands out to you, though, where, once again, there's a little bit of an illusion magic to it.
Where some of the pearls, actually. You know what? There's no illusion magic to this one. that's why kind of stands out a bit. Because what you're noticing, though, is that some of the pearls are kind of slowly shifting colors. and they will have a very slight glow. You only notice it because where they are in the case, it's kind of the with the slight, greens and, purples, that kind of are reflected on the material.
So it's not really bright by any measure. But if it was like, like if, if you were in a, all dark, totally dark room, you would see the glow a bit, as they shift these different colors. And how much is that one? Oh, the, the mesmerizing pearls. yeah. That goes for about, 15 gold for that necklace right there with the,
how it's been put together.
Beautiful. You have great pieces in here. So how about this? And I promise I'm done. She'll pull out this, necklace that has a string of shark's teeth on it. Do you think it'll be big enough for an owl bear's neck? Would you like a big the table. Oh, you just found one. That there was all kinds of stuff in there with shark's teeth and trinkets and stuff.
So I'm assuming that there's going to be a necklace of shark teeth. do you have, with you? Yes, but I left them right outside the shop. so he's just sitting by the door. She could, keys right in front of the door, looking, kind of looks behind your back and at it, and I, I think that would probably fit them.
I don't see a problem with that. Yeah. How much is that? for the for those shark teeth right there. you're looking at about, ten gold for that one. Okay. Nice. There is.
yeah. I'll give her 35 gold. Oh, well, thank you very much. You're welcome. what I will say is just with the the scrimshaw. I'll let you know, just so that way you're aware, but, I would be very careful about, about saying the name, but, saying the name of what? Because you were asking about the artist and the, the artist.
His name is, it's Serafina. he's not exactly, a big fan of, of those above the ocean floor, if you will. So the reason why I usually don't keep his work up here. Because, most of the people Thorne winds don't appreciate his art. well, that's unfortunate. I will make sure I won't mention his name.
But otherwise, I hope you enjoy your day. And if you're ever, in the interest of other wares from my homeland, you know where to find me. Okay? To leave. Give me one second before we go. Is there any, like, gallop, seashells? Oh, yeah. There would be easily. Calliope would like two of those. Is this is this the only shows?
Is this the only shop, or is it like a few different stalls from the. So this would be the main shop that you guys would find that would have stuff just from there. what you would notice though, in some of the other shops would, especially with the more second hand ones, maybe there might be a few other pieces here and there.
but this is like they only sell this stuff in here. Yeah, yeah. So and this is like the main one here. so probably what, what I'd say is that you pick up is how would probably happens is this is the main shop that they used to sell that some of the wares in this area. And then a lot of the, other pieces that might come into port, just go to another city kind of thing.
So this would probably be the main place, though, if you wanted to get anything from, Coral Haven as far as these kind of things, I guess that would also be like, maybe in the, if you look around, like the food might be found in some of the other, like the they probably sell that to maybe some of the other butchers or whatever.
And so then it gets sold through those places. And I was curious to know if they have their own brand of herbalism. Oh.
Interesting. How are you going about to find out? Oh, I'm definitely kind of looking around that shop to see if there's anything that. So what I thought was, at the very least, plants or anything. Yeah. So you would probably find, like, this is a bit of a hippie shop in that way too, because like, there would be like maybe like little packets of, like that, kind of like how you see, like, bound up sage kind of thing.
But it would be like, yeah. I'm thinking like seaweed. Like seaweed incense or something like that. I don't know, there definitely would be a bit of that here. so you'd see, like, a little bit of a little like, a little table set up where it's got various, like, treatments from under the sea. Oh, give me one second.
I'm gonna get a drink. Quick, quick, though. Oh, eat hydrated powdered kelp that says, like, you know, for for spiritual awakening. So. Right. Yeah. Yeah. For meditation. Yeah. What are you going to use with your two scallop shells? Calliope? she's just slow. She's going to cut down the the rock the, like, cobbled way and, like, Monty Python the shells together.
So she sounds like a whole herd of sailors. oh. I thought you were going to make yourself a bikini. That's too on the nose, Sam. Your brain would go there. It would. That's what she only got. Two. Three? Yeah, she only got two weeks. Actually. I didn't think so. I heard Jamie say what she said, and that's exactly the first thing I thought it was a bikini.
Okay.
I'm much prefer the Monty Python answer. I do too. Down, down, down. He just doesn't want to admit that she's making a bikini. But you gave her an idea so maybe she might pull that out. You know, sweep me off my feet. You should check out the Bards Guild, see if you can find some new songs. Maybe I will.
Yeah. Go. so give me a, investigation check. The.
Seven. So. Yeah. So you found the table with all the, the other stuff. The rebels and stuff? Yeah. I want to get some sort of like, know, like I said, some sort of incense type of deal and.
A trinket, like some sort of an amulet or a necklace or film file or something like.
Do we know the deities of the merfolk, if they have any. Is that public knowledge? I wouldn't say it'd be too public.
I'm trying to think, I mean, obviously.
There's, like the some of the sea, some of the gods that are, like, more, defied by the ships and pirates and stuff. obviously you guys be picking up a bit of that because of, well, being on a ship, hearing maybe even some of your crew, Give me a religion check. That would be like the goddess of the shadow is about, gods of the merfolk.
Just mainly looking for sass. If she was looking like, if they had any cool amulets or something. Yeah, yeah, yeah, that probably would be more, because I'm the one looking at stuff into. Can I help her? Sure. Why not? go and do it within a village. All right. My religion's only a plus one. It's not every year.
All the success. Horror. Overwhelming, I know, but I was. I was a lady walking to be for her. When she said amulet, I was like, oh, it would be cool if they had, like, a carved amulet up there, like the God or something, I don't know. Yeah, that would be cool. 17. Okay. She wins. So you won D&D.
We. You would know that, one of the major gods for, like, the merfolk is, a throw a. Yeah, thrown and a throw was the creator of the, the local FA and the, the merfolk, the little Cathar or, just a, kind of like a, fish like humanoid, if you will. In fact, here, this is what you, I'll let you just Google what they're called.
You can find pictures of what the look with all our, But these fish like humanoids and the merfolk tend to eight year old, tend to be, like, maybe one of their more prominent, gods because, he's good. Aligned for aquatic resources. but it just pumps him up. Okay, I'm showing her this, this thing that I printed out to organize the, munchkin deluxe game.
His, Yeah, he's here. Oh. Nature temple. Neutral alignment. Oops. That's the ocean. the songs and the swimming dances they used in prayer. They tend to change every season. they have lots of holidays dedicated to him. he's part of the, what's called the a cell in this, that's this, solar phenomenon.
The title love for Nari is a multi species pantheon, which is worshiped by good aligned aquatic races. And you not read the words that you created. Actually, this is do you understand the words that are coming out of my mouth, which is from. Oh, this is actually from the days of Toriel. that's the multi-species pantheon for good aligned aquatic races.
and it is also it's actually led by an elven god known as Deep Space. Sela.
If the house is. Oh, yeah. That one deep slash. Ellis, is an elven deity who had made his home on air. Bender, although he is rumored to maintain, the most ni off the coast of the moon shy Isles. Oh, that would have been backed into a real. So that doesn't matter here. But,
So I'll just do this.
I've got this one says, do you know who it is? And that kind of gives you a lot about him. dolphin symbol? yeah. His, symbol is a little dolphin with, like, this little tells it come up.
I guess this it was okay. Oh, that's an amulet of deep chalice. Oh. Excuse me. How much this, that amulet is going to be, five gold. These are, in fact, a few,
If you. When you're on a ship with that one. it is, who said to me, good luck. And, usually you'll see, it's been said that if you were to wear that on a ship, you'll see dolphins usually near your ship at some points. See? Is it glowing magic? I will say that, you see, like a, a very faint glow, of, was it abjuration?
The check. Yeah.
That's exorcisms. I think it.
What is it like for, like, protection? Magic? yeah. I've quite a few. Physical. Yeah.
Actually, no, it. No. Well, look, she say it so it would have a little bit. We'll say there's a very slight glow of adoration and a very faint glow of the, divinity, like, divinity divination. Divination.
That'll work. I'll take this incense. Okay. And the incense, we there's there's various types we have over there. you can either get the, the cheaper stuff, which is about a silver, for a couple, uses, we also have another one that's, a gold, and each for each pack you're looking at probably about like 1015 uses out of them.
So there's, one that's a silver one. That's a gold. And then the really fine one is actually, ten gold. Each, for each use. that's usually people that are using it for various, magic spells and stuff. I know, those who want to find their familiars, especially those who are creating, familiars of, sea creatures.
We tend to, like, use our stuff.
I'll go mid-range. Okay. So how many you want to get? It's like I said, one gold for, we'll say ten uses of, if I ever find, aquatic. incense. All right, so it was five for the amulet, right? Yeah. It's like a river.
That's. Think you got cut off there? Yeah. Six gold. Okay. Six gold. And, so you kind of puts it all together for you, and. Well, if there's anything else you guys ever need, just let me know. What was your name? I don't think we got that. I'm shadow. shadow? I go by, my name is, Kelpie.
Good to meet you. Yeah. That's, the kind of name I usually go for. back home, I'm known as the seashell whisper.
Shell whisper. seashell whisper. That's my, my home name. But here on the surface, people tend to call me Kelpie.
All right. Thank you. Seashell. Thank you. Anything else you guys would like to do?
Just, I think I'll head, to Nessa and IGI and await Arlo and Camp. Unless Calliope or SAS want to do anything else, I would probably stop by the Bard College. for the Bard College. yeah. You got to go a little bit more into the town a bit. Or the city, a little deeper into it.
not, so close to the port. but you do find, like, kind of, by the, there's like a, large park. And around the park are various, like, different buildings, and you kind of start picking up that each one of these tends to kind of, dedicate themselves to a various, aspect of, art schools.
So you're able to find the one that kind of deals with, the glamor and the, the, the elusive symphony there.
There would be,
Kind of of the, I guess for the glamor, it would be a pretty, nice, tall building, as you kind of, like, walk in, you can see kind of like, not perfectly marble floors, but something close to it kind of thing. you would hear throughout the, the air, the building, various different types of songs being played with, different instruments and different rooms to the point that it's done.
It almost seems as if it's meant to kind of come together as one song. it's none of it seems to clash really against the various sounds, even though you can, as you kind of pick out the different songs. There's definitely not meant to be all played at the same time in one area.
does it look like there's like a, like a helpdesk? Like someone in charge, like a help desk, guest services or a concierge? I would say that, it seems like everybody's kind of doing their own thing. You see, people kind of go in this way in that. But there is like a, it seems like everyone knows where they're going.
And so there would be a moment where as you're kind of looking around with a little bit of a, deer in the headlights kind of look, unintended, you you do have, a, a little halfling girl that does come up to you. And so that. Can I help you? Do you know where you're going?
Not a clue. Oh, what is it you're looking for? I'm traveling through town, and I saw this place, and I thought that I would come see what everybody was up to. Oh, so you're. Are you interested in, to to joining our symphony or possibly. What is it that you do? well, we we tell the tales of the old, and we make music, it's, I guess the best way of putting it, how is she?
She does notice your instruments, and she's picking up that you are a bard of sorts. And, for those who are, trained with the the school of, the glamor schools, we we tend to help, continue your lifetime education and training, if you will. At least that's how I was brought into this place. What does it take to join?
there is a fee to join and then, an annual fee, from there. we tend to hope as you travel the world and you learn new tales and and songs, you were able to bring those in, in fact, like, that's kind of what I'm here for today is, to. To to show my song book of, some of the songs that I have picked up in my travels and, hopefully, maybe garner some new spell, songs myself.
Do you have to be based out of the city, or can you like. Absolutely not. very few, bards tend to stay in one place for long, so, it's no different here. there's a few of the, the, actual, guilds that people here that, are pretty much, regulars. And for the long visit here.
But no, there's by no measure, in fact, when you go into other cities and stuff, any guild that is associated with, the grammar schools, it's the same thing as being part of the symphony.
What would is there in an initiation besides payment? The like. Is there an audition or do you have to, like, try out or. It's not so much an audition, per se. you would have to to, I guess. I guess you could call an audition. you would just have to the the guild, leaders that would just want to hear a little bit of what you have.
like, especially for us, you would you would play a little bit of your music, and then if you have your song books or your history that, narratives that you have kept, we would just want to be able to make a quick copy of that. And then from there, yeah. And then just once one the six times a year, just try to stop by, any of the, guild houses to, allow us to once again take a look at your, what you have learned.
And to come by 1 to 6 times a year. That's how we, able to collect more information for the guild that we obviously, when other people bring in their knowledge, we're able to have some stuff to share with you. But that's any guild in any port, right? It doesn't have to be for wind chimes. I'm sorry. Yeah, Jamie's kind of talking above table, but yeah, you would be.
Yeah. You don't have to come to just this location. That's what I'm saying. As long as you stop at any location around the, you know, in any city. So here's the thing. Sometimes we lose track of time. Could be like a couple weeks. Could be like three years. What? I get kicked out if I lose track of time?
Well, not really. it's it's common for. Especially with bards. More than most, guilds. but all you really usually have to do is just make up, any past do and, just, you know, any past do any past dues and, and obviously just make sure that, you have something to hopefully show as far as progress and that you have, learned about, what's your favorite room in this place?
My favorite room in this place would have to be, there is, actually, it's there's a closet. And I know that sounds weird, but it's a closet where when you close the doors, the music from all the various practices and everything else is quieted down to just a slight hum and vibration in that room. So you're still able to pick up a nice melody that comes together and at the same time be able to kind of be alone with your thoughts.
But still sounds very loud. You think it's a, it's a very quiet. It's it's a lot quieter than I'm making it seem, you know, in my brain, by listening to the thoughts.
If it's okay with you, I'll just take a walk around. Yeah. just just be careful. as far as, not to be too disruptive to anybody that's practicing anywhere, but, Sorry, I'm never disruptive. Certainly. She flips her cape and walks away.
And the little halfling proceeds to go where she was going.
So as I'm walking around, is there anything that, like, stands out? As you walk through, the most, you see various rooms where there's people playing different instruments. there's a few rooms where there's like, you see a library where there's just massive books everywhere, and people, at tables taking looks like copious amounts of notes. And, you see another room where there is a, the curtains have been drawn.
And so it's a very dark room as you kind of walk by it, you notice, there is a young trout, female drawer who is, sitting on the floor cross-legged. what is it? saw who? She's sitting cross-legged. and, as it looks like, she's almost like meditating in a way. But you also notice around her are three different instruments floating around her, and they seem to be kind of making, music around her.
And then you see, a fourth instrument, a flute in front of her that's still on the ground. And you see it kind of like try to pop up a little bit in the air, and then it kind of stops and it goes back down to the ground and, as, as it, once again, you see, it's trying to kind of levitate like the other instruments around her.
And as it kind of falls back down to the, ground, you see a little kind of wince in the, the eyes as she's trying to concentrate and get four instruments up and playing at the same time.
As a champion. She's a Jedi. You do notice that she is wearing a set of black robes? actually, give me a investigation check.
Said black robes. Robes like Garm wears. These are brown. Believe they were, But hers are black. But it does. Your noticing it does seem to be a very similar cut and style of what he had.
Does this person look familiar at all? You've never seen her? And she's more actual draw than, like, because you guys have the draw that's on your ship. But she hasn't looked around. she looks more like a regular elf, because that's, that she's a very specific, kind of type, but this one is an actual, kind of pale face draw.
but you don't recall seeing her anywhere? No. Okay. Calliope honestly doesn't want to be disruptive.
So. Should probably just mosey on to then, like, take note of what's happening. Bishop, mosey on to the next room. Okay.
the next thing you know, you see another, like, here you would see a, human gentleman, he's got like a little, he's playing on a layer lyre and, every you notice, like, he keeps dropping notes from time to time. And then unfortunately, he keeps noticing it himself and kind of kind of berates himself.
And then he starts again.
I, will pick my head around and say, like, give him words of encouragement or, like, inspiration. He smiles and, Kind of then keeps working at it again. Okay.
I'll go back up to the front. Okay. And, is that girl the halfling still there? You don't see the half a girl there, but you do see, like, a little desk now, you didn't notice it because you were kind of looking in the room, but now that you're coming back out, it's. It was actually facing the other way around.
That's why, you didn't see, like, a little desk where it seems like there is somebody kind of, I wouldn't say it looks like exactly like a receptionist, but it has a little bit of that feeling of this might be the person that kind of is in charge of some stuff like that. The housekeeper. Okay, I'll go up and I'll, be like, do you guys have, like, a free trial or something like that?
Like a free week? not really. at the end of the day, it really is about trying to protect, our craft. And, once you're in, we kind of hope that you're in. So you.
Okay. Did you have a card? Like a business card?
actually, I feel like bards would be the kind of people that might have, like a calling card. It's not even. Actually, it's not even. It's it. Well, I mean, it's a card. It's a but it's it's more like bigger, more like, like those kind of fliers that you find in your car from, like, you know what I'm saying?
I've lived through the hours. So now that I'm thinking about it, bands tend to always put those little cards in the. Yep. Is it like the flier to chain reaction? So it's it's it's what is it like five by seven kind of card. actually, but actually thinking about it now, it wouldn't even be a card. It would actually be like cheap paper.
Well no no, no. Never mind, never mind. This is glamorous. This this would be like a card stock. Sorry. A very shiny card stock. it and you would see that it just says, really just says Bard School of Glamor. And, underneath that, the elusive symphony, all bards of glamor are welcome here.
I guess, I'll take the card and say thank you for the on Tuesdays.
to drink. yeah. And I'll leave a little bit of glitter on the on the counter. And she smiles and you see her behind, she's got like, you see her with a book, and she kind of, like, now give me an, give me a quick. I'll just use your investigation score. You got already that one.
okay. You're able to notice that as she takes a book that's on the left hand side. she kind of like, puts it underneath this, like, this silk, fabric that's on her right hand side on this little table. And you notice that as she puts that book underneath, that scarf, she's there's like, another book that she pulls up underneath it.
And what you're seeing is that it's like there's, the book, the two books that she puts underneath the scarf. But you also see, like, there's this black stone that she's putting it on top of inside of there. And then she kind of puts the the silk scarf over and keeps it kind of covered, and she just kind of smiles at you.
what? I have seen anything like that black stone before. you have not, Okay. What? I have any sense that it's magical, but give me. I will let you give me religion, history or arcana. Okay. Kitchen history or, let's go to history.
That was not great. Okay. you what I will say is, you have heard that there are various magics that are used to make copies of books. I will say that because of being a bard, you would have heard to some stories that there are prized, magics used to copy books almost instantaneously.
Okay, I will go ahead and hand out, and meet up with the rest of the group. And I will specifically relay, what I saw with the draw that was there and, like, what they were wearing. And then I will specifically ask, Oh, my gosh, I'm blanking. Fashion if he's ever seen any type of like, crystal like that for copying spell books.
Sean. So it hasn't come up in any of our discussions. So once again, I will let you do the same Arcana magic or history.
How do you do a magic check? I'm sorry, that's a magic check. I meant history or religion. Sorry. 25. Okay. Yes, I know how to do this. You would. You would have heard of, especially being a sage background, that there are the various magics used and one of the most notable that is, very prized and almost secretive.
are these black stones? that almost like Xerox, hold books on that? it almost looks like Xerox stones. They have a big, it requires having a, stone, the black stone and a blank book. Usually you want the book to be, to have the same or more pages that's in the book being copied.
And pretty much what it is, is you put those two books on top of the stone, and depending on how I'm depending on the books, because some books, maybe if there is magic involved or other things, it could take much longer. But generally almost very quickly you will have a near identical copy of what is contained in the first book.
this is problematic when it comes to spellbook, so obviously it doesn't work very it doesn't work with, spell books, to the point that you have heard stories, because with the 25, you've heard stories about how people have tried to use these stones to copy magic, spell books. And it's been disastrous every single time. Some times it has actually, destroyed the people trying, destroyed the books.
other times it's even made, casters lose their ability to ever cast magic again. these stones were outlawed at one time because of, But this is, like ancient history, due to the fact that these, when, when this technology kind of spread, it kind of got out of hand. And then some of the governments in their pursuit of controlling the knowledge, if you will, sort of banning these, stones, so people tend to, want to if, if anybody has possession of them, they tend to kind of keep it very secretive.
So it's still technically like contraband. It's, it's it's kind of like legalized contraband. It's there's no law against them. But people are always afraid that somebody might either take it away from them or want to punish them for having it, because the fact that it makes knowledge, so easy to be copied, so is it a counterfeit?
Any document? There's all those kind of situations. the only like, only in the hands, like the old masters and stuff like that of, like, reputable people. The only problem with that, though, is, is that it doesn't actually copy the book itself. It just copies the stuff that's inside of it. so that you would have to actually, you would have to make sure that the duplicate already looks exactly like the first book, if you're trying to do that kind of thing.
But obviously, if I'm sure that there there would have been probably stories of people that have tried. And, that make sense with the Wizards going crazy if it just transfers text and not the inherent magical abilities of your spell book, because you have to burn incense and special equally just write your spell in there. You're actually considering that.
Yeah, it's a it's a whole. Yeah, yeah. And the other thing too, I will say with the 25 version is, you are aware that some libraries tend to try to have these stones in an effort to, help, expand their collection, by the river. Oh. Did fashion ever see any in the outing library?
I never went to that library. But if you do recall, shadow, you might recall you in SAS. When you guys went there. They did tell you that they do like it when people come into into town to allow the library to borrow their books for a little while. Yeah, yeah, that's what I mean. I mean, shadow's not there, but.
Yeah. That's good. Yeah, I came back. Yeah, she she's all together. You guys could all band together for this. I bet. Oh, so it was like 1000. I visited the library, noting. Yeah, they probably have one of those too. Yeah, that's tiny. Library had so much information. This was a creation I've had since that game. Oh my gosh.
Like I said, John still, you know, just opening my lines four years ago. Wow. It's fucking awesome. I love it. You stress about not being prepared and then you spend an entire session in lower dump. I would not call that not being prepared. That's just because I'm skilled.
What is Barlow's adventure? All right, so let's do that. You, First, I will approach the dock area and search out the harbormaster. There's the harbormaster. yes, sir. we have a few items that will need to be, offloaded. Minor art items, few pieces that we can get sold. Oh, certainly. Yeah. and so that the rest you'll you'll want to talk to the, should I figure out what I had for the name for.
But for right now, I'll just say that I just talked to the Port Authority. they'll be the ones that take care of any, of, those kind of trades and stuff like that. he leads you. He kind of directs you over to where you can, a small little kind of like, I guess a kiosk of sorts.
you see a gentleman, for, a halfling over there, kind of, busy on the way to that. I will keep my eye out looking for the, markings or signage, either in, like, an out of the way corner of the dock, under the eaves of roofs somewhere that will show me where, possible location or meet up point in my, give me an investigation check.
Okay.
So we'll someone.
As you're walking towards, the halfling gentleman, at the kiosk, You notice, like the you see the, the markings, of the, the b slash 13. you see, actually see it kind of, kind of very well hidden actually, at first. But you get a, you notice a, with a trained eye.
it's actually at the kiosk.
All right. I'm approaching and let him know about the various art pieces. I'll be getting them off of the ship a little bit later, or I can have some of our crew just deliver them for us and get the coin for us. But I also like some information on looking for someone who might stolen item from me, from us, my crew, and might be looking for a place to stay hidden out of the way.
And, I'll describe the guard with the wooden mask in his build and what he looks like. And so I'm wearing robes and say, possibly carrying what looks like, the chemical or armor gantlet and arm of some type of.
you know, where, any place I can go look for clues or stuff like that, where I might go to set up a meeting to meet somebody. he kind of gives you a once over. they said the marking was at the stall. At his stall? You do see a marking? that, Okay. I'll take my coat on myself for that.
No. Looks like it could be a flip my coin. What's in the air? And just catch it and then put it back in my pocket? okay.
Give me a second here. I'm trying to find one thing here.
I'm assuming this was a black road marking, right? Yeah. Okay. That's the, Then, Well, yeah, I'll toss the coin just so he can see it, and I'll put it back in my pocket.
could I have your name, sir?
The name is. That's an interesting question.
We're going to go with Barlow because that's who.
Person. I'll ask you a question. About what? No. Me asked. So. Barlow. All right. Barlow. Well, it appears you know where all roads lead. So do, the gentleman that you speak of, though. I'd have to find out more about your ranking, because I may know exactly who you're talking about. In fact. And he kind of goes underneath, the kiosk, and you see him kind of like, pull out a book, and he kind of skims it real quick now, in fact, if I'm not mistaken, you were the one transporting him.
am I correct? I was the gentleman you're looking for. Was that an individual? Yes. yes. And he stole something from a member of my passenger, indirectly. Or a passenger. I was delivered, so? So I feel obligated to find this person. Get that I of back. That is, in fact, that's, That's very unsettling, actually. as you are aware that of, we are going to help transport an individual underneath, through our road systems that, they should respect our systems.
that this should give me, you're not lying or anything, so. Yeah, go ahead and give me a persuasion check. No, go and do it with a no. Because,
Oh, okay. That ought to us.
Number seven. well, I mean, that's it sounds like you're you're going to clean up the mess that. So I don't need to really put any real resources into this. what I can tell you, though, is,
He. He did come into town before you guys came here. I we were curious on how he got here without you guys, but at the end of the day, that's not really our concern. But finding out that he had, attacked and, stolen from anybody that's working with our roads, that's very problematic. what I can tell you is that, he he doesn't seem to be alone anymore.
I've seen him, two others. Well, three others. Now, I think about it. two others that look just like him. And then I've seen, another individual, a drought that's been with him, with you there, but. Wow. Okay. For the most part, wow. I've seen them. I've heard that they've been down by the bone arch.
the other one or the other two, I think, was here before he got in the town. That's at first some of our, our connections were thinking he was the same person and that he had got here way before you guys. it's only when the the last one, they wearing a similar wooden mask. that's what they seem to be having.
I have it on strong authority that that, it's a fake mask that it's, they happen to be a a race that we don't really see a lot, but I can tell you that up your nose a little bit about, they're known as plasmoid. they're not actually even from this planet. And they, some of them have the ability to harden themselves so much that it can look like wood.
So that face mask is not a mask. It's actually his face that's. He's kind of making it look hard, probably to help hide his identity a bit. Yeah. I guess if you're a very, exotic race, it's easy to spot. So. Yeah, that's good information. You know, he's got others in town. That's great. And I will head toward this opponent district.
Yeah, I would look, when you go to the hill, if you go to.
Give me a second here.
What you want to check out is, there's a little, little, dive bar down there known as the howling Gale. if you go there, just let the bartender know that, this, just tell them. To do the. What's your name? it's going to be a he, is. It'll be a friend's, the bartender over there by the river.
Just let them know that you've, sailed your ship off the the dark road.
All right. Yes. Okay, well, well, thank you for being a great help. I will let you down one gold coin and say I now have a, another question of yours to ask you. I'm looking for a cracker. A specific tracker named anthrax and Trace Lambert Wilderness. I've lost contact with them. He was on it. Currently on the job for me, but I have been out to sea for several weeks, and I just made it back in the town.
And I need a way to get in touch with them. go ahead and do another persuasion check. And do it with advantage again. then it's persuasion.
And I will put down another gold coin as well.
Nice.
What you get? Hey, Mr. Allen, what was his name again? And.
Rex. Damn.
Like it's happened for you if you need it. You see him? he once again kind of, puts his hands underneath the kiosk and kind of starts skimming underneath some book again. That's a very interesting. That's, the gentleman, actually, we had, sent to look for you at one time. Yes, yes, that's how we, came to make a deal, right?
You had failed to, pick up a passenger. You were supposed to, report and, you should, neighbors and, help, transport, one drop down from there.
Yeah. Granted, that shipwreck showed up by the river. Which is very interesting. We think we might know where she might have gone now, but, I digress.
With, Andrew, he has not been seen in some time, actually.
it's interesting you bring up his name, and if just word out, I need to talk to him. I'm not sure if he'll be able to find me, because I'm currently on the ship or on the move, and we're sailing, so we might not be able to locate me. I would like to know if I get word out that, when we can meet up at a certain port or a place, we'll know maybe someone, somewhere, which I get that I'm.
I'm just getting a little, It's weird that. What is it? You failed to show up to pick up the passenger? That passenger failed to meet us at the port. And now you bring up another person who's missing. Oh, while looking for another person who? Stole and is the missing as well. There's a lot of missing people with you.
oh. There is. Hey. My sister was missing for a while. Two. How about that? I've got her back. That's it. I got attacked by a dragon ship. That task. We now found myself on a small little island by the maddening straits called outing up there for a while now I know that's come out. After he met up with me.
We had sent him to find you out. Yeah. Yeah. And I was under the understanding. He told me that because of that situation, everything was okay. Well, I'm not I'm not saying everything isn't okay. I'm just saying that there's just a lot of stuff, okay, so how about this? I will try to see if I could find him.
If I do find him, we'll think about letting you know. but since you happen to be involved in all this, I would appreciate it if you help us try to find out what happened to your missing passenger. The first one, by the way. So if you do have to draw a draw and fire wrath, let me know.
Oh, that one fire wrath. How do you spell that? really? Good. Okay. I think it's d v y v I t h.
Oh, yeah, I know. so if you're able to find that information and then I will try to see if I could find Andrew and then, then I will let, I will determine whether or not to let you know and find out where he's at. Once I can. Okay. Assess this. Well, I'll be staying on my ship.
That big, beautiful one over there parked in the harbor. No worries. I'll be staying there for a few days if you guys have any, any cargo you need to have, unloaded or sold or purchased. Let me let your captain, though I know how you can work it through me, and I can take care of that for you.
So, I will do for the, off again situations. And what was your name again? I don't think I gave you my name. You did not. I was just being polite.
just go with read. Go read. Good name. Read. okay. All right. You have a good day. I will run back to the ship really fast. Like, really fast. And you could do that. Let the captain know. gather up the miscellaneous art stuff. I'm not sure, but I should probably want to do that. That's Walmart. And, have the crew deliver it and get the gold parts.
And then I'll head over to the, this little was, for the purpose of all the hell in jail or. No, no, not the Highland jail, the hotel, the room that they're staying at. Oh, the sleepy seahorse. Sleep is your expensive. I already did all the, these things. Okay. Yeah. And Sean said that you don't want that.
yeah. You just took care of the numbers. Yeah. You know, you need to just take care of the the roleplaying side of it. Just wrapping it, Leonard, to his, opportunity to talk to connections. He has, Okay. And, Yeah, I had the sleepy seahorse. so. Yeah. You find the sleepy seahorse? yeah. You barely notice the sign is there?
It seems like definitely a place that people like to go. That kind of hang low, to hide out a little bit and lay low.
Okay, let's see everybody inside. Sure. We'll say that everybody's hanging out of the little table inside a little bar area. Okay. I'll walk up and I will tell them what I just found out about the, bulk arm. His buddies hanging out with some new tarot person wearing similar type ropes and garments might be. Weren't you just telling us about a trial that you saw today up in jail?
I mean, how how common are draw here? Have we seen enough for it to be trial tend to be coincidental. The draw are a little rare. I would say that if anything, that you would probably see more in a place like this, that would be fair. but I'd say you only saw maybe a handful. because of the fact that there's a few thieves guilds in this area, you'd see a little bit more, but they do tend to stay away from, above ground places for the most part.
Now, this is only our second, our second real city. We visit it, right? I mean, everything else has been small towns, villages, an island. Right? A yeah, this and wide berth would be the two largest places that you guys have been to. Yeah, it was big in that way, but it was very spread out and kind of whatever, family owned was it, but it's still and it was still pretty small for the most part.
And then I'll, mention to. Sort of, everybody say that, you know, that virus lady got more of a connection with her than previously knew about. She was, one of the passengers I was supposed to escort a long time ago when we got shipwrecked. She never showed up. Oh, now we know why. So. Are you ever told about people working?
never told, exactly who it is. That's all point. they do keep a manifest for their records. but so.
So. No, I don't know. But, hey, here's the good. Because that son of a bitch Garm stole her arm while under our protection. transport is in a little more serious trouble. It's not just us looking for him. It's not just us. Who would be, you know, punishing them if he ever even gets caught. So that's good news.
We might want to talk to him quick and we'll take care of it ourselves. all we do is talk. Yeah, I don't think they're going to do too much with it. they kind of put it on me because it was my responsibility, and I took responsibility for it. And I want to get through this. Right. It's kind of on me to get it done.
So by default on you guys, I'm sorry. That's fine. Well, it's probably better we do it than them because they. Who knows what they would do with the gloves arm. That is true. Glove. Arm. Yeah. So, Mr. Piggy, what do you know? What have they told you guys so far?
You're asking? I'm Iggy Rigby and this are here. Well, okay. So you're okay? yeah. so now that we have a little more detail on a group that he's hanging out with, there's now four of them. So that makes two other lousy ones. We'll say that needs to says. Yeah, that makes sense. Then it seems that if,
If there's more than one that looks just like him, then that's probably why we're getting the kind of reports that we're getting. and you're saying that did you say where they were that we might be able to where your connection thinks that he might? I was it was last seen at the how we go, whatever that is.
That's interesting. Okay. Over to a bar. Yeah. The hell in jail is a is a bar that's over in, the bone arch. we went down or checked that area. We heard a few reports in that area, so that would make sense.
Well, there maybe. Is that anywhere near where Calliope used run? You saw, trials? Well, in the, the guild. Is where I saw them in the field. Arts guild? Yeah. the Arts guild. I think that's more of or and, Goodness.
Well. It might be worth checking out just to at least ask questions. Maybe you can fill out how you how her responses to the questions we ask Calliope. You're pretty good at censoring that myself.
We can. But anything. It may be better if we if we're able to meet her outside of the of the guild versus going in there. Yeah. What I will say though, is, the next thing I'll do with them is, well, I think, the, the Bards Guild's over in Old Town, so that wouldn't.
So nowhere near the Helling. Yeah, that's not near. And how I know, but it sounds like. Anyway. So, I mean, it sounds like the, Garmin has the. That's what you said his name was, right. One of you guys said his name was calm or something, I think, yeah, calm capacity. but if if him and his associates that look like him or down in the bone arch, maybe they had somebody else.
That was an old town. And that's been helping them do other things throughout the city. So. And that's probably who's been helping out stay low. So yes, they are highly conspicuous. Well, it's also general, but less so as they are because they are very, very rare. Yeah. Especially of well, in a place like this, I feel like, if you're going to be a drought, this would be a place to that.
You could probably get away with it. Yeah. Yeah, that's for sure.
Well, if you guys want to go and get the bonus area and stake out the long jail or confront the draw. either one works over here. I mean, do we know for sure that he's working with the draw? That. What are you saying? Or is it still kind of just here? He's been seen hanging out with two others like him.
And a trial is emails, right? I believe based on. Yeah, I know. Oh, they were. Yeah. And they said that they were wearing similar types of cut of cloak or something like that. Obviously Garland Mueller plasmoid. But these all look identical. So they'll be hard. This thing was we met three of them.
But that's around.
They're much easier to recognize okay. See them together. Look.
I'm all for a good stakeout. An ambush. Well, I did that. Did you see of male or female?
Know male. Oh, man. Roll for memory check. Yeah. And we're looking for a female. I thought Calliope said she saw female. The female? The female within the at the counter. And the halfling. That's the driver. I thought the drivers as well. I can't remember. And he doesn't remember. Calliope. Remember? And he's high. And I'm not gonna lie, even the DM.
I have you for I can't. He is. I'm starting to think I have. Like, I feel like I'm now questioning myself on what I said. I thought the footage around that edit that Calliope saw was female, so just remember the robes, right? Just. Yeah, I was. So what I will say. Well, because I know is a gentleman.
The other one was a gentleman. I know that the human was a gentleman. I can't honestly remember if I made that that one a female draw or not. I think it might have been, What I will say, though, is that you did notice the features were, It wasn't like you saw straight like a full face in way.
She they did have a cloak over their head, so it definitely could have gone either way. To be honest, some of the shade and some of the lines in her in their face could have been male, could have been female. But they were androgynous. Yeah, but they look to them. But they were wearing the same kind of robes.
Just black. Just happened to be black.
That might be your guy, but I thought you said they were brown. The brown arms are brown. Oh, okay. Yeah. That's right. It looked like the same style that. But what? That's what made it kind of, distinct. But the fact is that it's different because it was black.
You. Oh, we can definitely do a stakeout. That could be fun.
By beer on snacks? Yeah. On it. I do just want to, as a DM, just remind, Chuck. Oh, he didn't say that so much that he goes there. Just that you should talk to other, I get this. The bartender from. Yeah, it was more of. You should go talk to friends at the Helen Gale and tell them that you just killed your ship off the dark road.
And that would be kind of like a code word, right? So. But, hey, Yeah, yeah, yeah, but I don't. Yeah. Okay. Maybe she can do that. I don't want to correct you in the middle of all of it, but I realize I should correct the, player. I got it, yeah. It's okay. Doesn't, doesn't, Barlow have a pretty low intelligence score, so he could have played a game of telephone just on the way.
Come back to the hotel and exactly.
Got ten. He's average. That's a pretty average thing to do.
So you guys want to go to, do a stick out there? What? He goes on to.
Yeah. Wherever he said that, he's been spotted over Barlow. Thanks. Yeah, that's over the. How long did you go ask the bartender there? He's been. So I was told that you might assume. We'll say as as you guys, leave the main gates. I do, Nissa, and, you can come with us as we'll visit them along.
Oh, yeah. They will definitely go along with you then, if you are giving them the kind of, hey, it's cool if you come along, then yeah, they would go with you. so what we'll say is that you guys have been actually staying in the copper docks. That's, But actually, no, I think about that. they're there, actually.
But they would have been in the West Docks for their hotel. as you guys kind of go back through the town. they might you get into, like, as you get towards, like, where there's a castle in the center. that's where the, like in between where the West docks and copper docks are. That's kind of a probably the best part of the neighborhoods.
there's some nicer homes as you get a little bit northern towards what's called the gardens. But as you get towards, Stairway Reach, you can, you can see how the, the quality of life and whatnot. It's kind of seeming like it's going a little bit downhill. as you get towards the, the, the southern walls, as you exit the gates of the stairway, which, the guard would, because it would be nighttime at this time as you guys are going down there, unless you guys are going to go.
And then the next day. So. Oh, like, how late is it? we'll say at this point, I mean, I'm just kind of spitballing. It's been all like, all over the place. But if you guys were leaving when you guys were done talking there, it would have probably. Then like eight, 9:00. Or did you guys want to do this in daytime?
I don't know what you guys know based on on what I thought you were at with that, but do you think Borrello. should probably get in touch with them. How do you get the information? We can find out what we can do tomorrow. So, with it being nighttime, they do tell you, they kind of. Be careful as you guys go about towards the bone arch.
As much as people are willing to respect the law, and, within the the gates, the, who's to say what can happen? What happens outside of the walls is kind of what they they kind of give you that impression. but you guys kind of go through, bone arch, and you can see, a little bit of quality, like, it's a little rough out here a bit, but you find out that the, where you guys need to go, the howling gale is actually when it gets a little bit nicer towards what's called wine gate on the west side.
and you do find, the little bar called, The Howling Gale? It seems like it used to be a bit more nautical, but you can see that they been kind of trying to get rid of that. Look. And the howling gale seems to be the last part that's still left over from when it was more, nautical.
And. is it, is there a lot of people here? it seems kind of, it's pretty empty, you see, like, only about like 3 or 4 tables, taken, people just kind of just drinking their drink. nothing too exciting going on in this place. It's more like business as usual kind of thing.
All right, folks, you know.
approach the bar. So I'm gonna approach the bar and look for, Fran's.
well, you only see really one bartender there. he everybody's kind of. It's not, like, busy or anything. So he's kind of actually sitting there just reading, and he kind of puts his book down, and. Oh, so you kind of come up and I gotta get you a drink.
you sure can. name's France, right? yeah. France.
Arnold here just, sailed in the shipping of the dark road here and just had a few questions. I want to get a lay of the land. Oh, yeah. some local flavor. He kind of puts his book down, kind of, side eyes, looks around the tavern. the rest of these guys, you know, I'm just going to take just you because I,
That's that's fine. it kind of leads, you towards a little, like the little office room that's right behind him. as you kind of go in there, he kind of enters, kind of make sure that nobody's following. And so, what do you remember going on? So. Okay. I'm, I'm. I was told by Reed to, I'm looking for one.
They called Garm, the wooden faced gentleman. yeah. You stole an item or just. Yeah, that's their own little bit off. Steal it. I need it back. Now. let me know that you guys might be that you might be coming by. so. Yeah, I what I'm hearing is, talking to a few people. There's an old church, just right outside of Bone Arch.
It's a barn. It's a bit abandoned, so nobody really goes out that ways. But some people have heard that they might be, maybe staying out that way. Oh. Day. that's, that would be him and his two other buddies. Those three individuals, as far as I understand it. I was told there was also a, a drawing room that's now, I haven't really seen much of the draw.
maybe, maybe the draw has been helping them more inside of the gates and outside the gates. But outside of here is the stories I've heard of just about them. Three.
The old church. All right. will be easy to find. What's the name of the church? It's not. Yeah. If you just if you take the, the south road, you know, like, it'll go behind a hill and then. So you're not going to see the church from the city. But, as you go around that hill, you'll see the church there.
You know, I would, why is it, why is it abandoned? Oldest. Well, that's that's one of the, the the areas where they, they used to bury a bunch of people that kept coming back a bit too much. So they, they stopped using it. the only time anybody goes out there really is.
Every once in a while, they'll send a cleric out. That kind of stop. The ones that keep trying to come bring themselves back out from the earth. That's the same church walk in churches. Sorry, a little too loud. you guys might have heard that through the doors. Everybody's got a barbecue here. I got to say, I don't want to be on that wall of.
Nonbelievers, if you know what I mean.
there's just so many. Why is the all the reason?
Thank you for your time. No bronze. then they get, you know, drinks for my my guys. actually, you know what? I'm just going to give you two gold. we're not going to buy any rounds right now. It's kind late, and we need to get back. we're going out to check out this church. Would be best to go there in the daylight, I'm assuming.
Right. That would probably best if I want. You know, I go anywhere near them. Okay. Thanks. Certainly I will, and I'll head up and let everyone know I'm going to look at this book while they're gone. What's your reading? It's a fucking church. And another one.
let's see here. Trust me, we just glove. whispers of the Drowned two through whispers of the drowned.
You don't have to tell me what it's about, but I'm going to read the synopsis on the back. And does it sound like it's an interesting book? you take a peek? it looks like it's just some type of mystery. what's it called? Whispers of the drowned. Whispers of the drowned. Just,
It just give me a, Perception check that Barlow would just read the last two pages, and that's it.
25. what you picked up is you're looking at it, and it looks like it's, my your it's kind of racist in a way. oh. It it seems like you're picking up the fact that whoever wrote this really hates the, the merfolk and seals, and so that's kind of what it's it it seems like you're picking up.
It's all about like, some mystery about something that's like going around killing people from, coral. whatever I called it. Haven coral Haven. and just some of the, the pejorative terms that you're kind of seeing in there about the, the sea races is, kind of offensive, but it seems like. And just, what's the word I'm looking for here?
like, unnecessarily too much kind of thing. So that's why you're kind of getting the feeling like it's kind of bad in that way. I'm definitely going to give him the judges look when he comes back.
And. Well, now shall the. I'm sorry I needed lower on all the derogatory fish name art. I like. I'm going to accidentally kill some ale on the book. with learning a new language, I want to know the customers first. That's how you learn, right? Right. It's. How do you get the locals to respect you?
yeah. You just throw a casual.
I will say that if you spill the ale on it, he acts like you didn't even do it and doesn't seem to care. You realize that he, it doesn't even seem like he's even really reading it. He's just trying to make himself look like he's doing something. Oh. Me sauce. Oh, look,
A better things to do. Like watching his bar is a good question. Yes. Not.
All right. As we leave, I'll just tell him you need a better book. So.
we don't want to go check this place out. I know. Right, guys? We all in agreement on that? Yeah. Probably not. They might be away from where they're at during the daytime, so that might give us a little chance to find out why. Or we might. I don't know. Either way, I'm all for it. So early for you?
Yeah. I'm down to get a nice rest and then go check it out. Out in the morning. Yeah. Sounds good. And actually literally rested great too. Yep. Yeah. All right. John. Off. My painting is too long, so we'll just pick it up with you guys. Going to check out the church. Church? Yeah. Another haunted graveyard. And then shadow, you heard us telling us about the rumors of them.
The priest going out there, the, top seven dead. Yeah, yeah. All right. They just keep coming back. Right.
All righty. Yeah. Well, I hope you guys had fun. Yeah. George. Shopping. Got some information, and, Lord, got some law. Got some law. Got some info, got some rumors. We're good. Yeah. Oh, my.
