Ironhill Clan

The first great family of miners to grace Aeronys was the dwarven Ironhill clan. Thovir wasn't exactly sure what he had at first; but the more he mined, the deeper the vein seemed to go. Iron, one of the building blocks of all metallurgic arts was plentiful in this particular mountain, and Thovir had found it. He quickly sent for his immediate family and they settled there, calling the mountain "Jernåsen." In the common tongue it means "iron hillside." When the work was discovered to be a bit too much for one branch of the family, Thovir sent for more. He spoke of the limitless abundance of the material and even sent money to aid in the sudden move. And the family came. In cartloads his kinsmen slowly arrived at the mountainous homestead and witnessed the many cartloads of raw iron. It wouldn't be until humans made a move to take the mountain that they would unite together with Thovir. All of them at once swore an oath to Thovir and took up arms under a banner depicting the Ironhill. While war was a possible outcome, the lord of the region was a very diplomatic and kind man. Rather than attempt a siege on the mountain he chose to do business with the Ironhills. Their goods began to spread far and wide. The quality of their ingots could never quite be duplicated even though many tried. Ironhill iron became a supply of choice quality and the family's wealth grew to a near insurmountable height. When Thovir had given all he could to ensure the prosperity of the Ironhill name he passed from this world and on to the next. He passed in the year 218 at the ripe age of 302. Now his son, Gloflir, carries on the business and wears the heavy mantle of patriarch for the family.
