Kiera DeWit is the daughter of a shepherdess in Dinier, near Dowery on the Cockerel Spur. Fascinated by gems and jewelry, Kiera spent many childhood hours searching local riverbanks for loose gemstones, often using a lantern in heavy fog. Her sigil is a lantern with a red gem at the center.
Kiera has built her enterprise over the last ten years alongside her older brother Staniel Kirdy. In 1546 they took advantage of a rare clear spring, to run a small cattle drive from Dinier to Dowery. This garnered them sufficient profit to set down roots in the big city, and thanks to several warm springs, they made this cattle drive an annual event. Their ranching business is now called DeWit Mercantile, headquartered in Verdant Long, Dowery.
Kiera and Staniel have also started running regular trade galleys, including massive livestock hauls, from Hegel High in Dowery to points in Sharing, Willough, and Tenpin.
While her brother manages the expanding business, Kiera now deals mostly in her favorite hobby, precious gems. She has established seven mining camps in the remnants of deep fog in the canyons of High Shally. The siblings have amassed considerable wealth, most of it reinvested in their trade empire, and Kiera now has a plan to franchise their operations throughout the valley. This is a point of contention with her brother, who has always been the more cautious of the two, and it seems now that the enterprise might split in two if the siblings cannot reconcile a business plan.
