Dew Point

Dew Point is a fantasy world of airships, politics, and fog. All over the world of Skye, a thick fog is slowly rising, swallowing the landscape. The fog isolates highland cities and buries lowlands in darkness.   This fog seems to be part of an epic cycle, repeating every few thousand years, burying old civilizations and technology deep in the mist. This time around, the kingdom is called DeVere, and its capital is the ancient cliffside port of Marino.   But things may be different this time. Some scholars believe that this is the final age, and that this fog will swallow the whole world. For better or worse, most people are too busy with their daily troubles to worry about such things.   After the Fog   The game "After the Fog" takes place roughly between 1554 and 1571, the so-called “golden age” of the Dearworth Valley, in the Highlands of Devere. This period was triggered by a decades-long recession of fog, which precipitated a widespread “rediscovery” of the Dearworth Valley. Wealthy and powerful families from all over Skye rushed in to claim (or reclaim) their share of the region’s wealth.   The Conscript   This period is also the first seventeen years of the life of Galiard Gaspar-Ewen, the protagonist of The Conscript. So this period, and these characters, are recent memories when their adventure begins. In 1571, Galiard’s father Lantry Ewen, formerly a soldier in Wilem Hightower’s Navy, is a struggling tailor in Lowers Rest.
