Mana

Mana, a strong and hardworking woman of 63, carried the weight of the world on her shoulders to provide a better life for herself and her young daughter, Narin. As a single mother, she worked tirelessly to keep their cozy little apartment in the heart of Rinew's Gate, a neighborhood they called home. Balancing long hours at work to make ends meet often meant leaving Narin alone, a decision that would later fill Mana with regrets.   When Narin turned 20, she moved out of their apartment after the tragic loss of her dear friend Ember. Left alone, Mana threw herself into work, hoping to drown her loneliness in the bustling activity of the city. However, fate had a different plan for her. By a twist of destiny, Mana stumbled upon a baby boy that Narin had abandoned, weak and on the verge of death. The revelation shattered Mana's heart, making her question how a mother could ever leave her own child behind.   In that painful moment of clarity, Mana realized that in her pursuit of providing a better life for Narin, she had unintentionally left her daughter alone and yearning for more. Fueled by the determination to make amends and break the cycle of abandonment, she took the infant boy, naming him Kaedin, into her loving arms. Despite facing her own struggles with chronic COPD and exhaustion, Mana fiercely cared for Kaedin, ensuring he was safe and loved.   Together, they faced life's challenges as a team. Mana brought Kaedin to her workplace, carrying him on her back when he was too young to walk. As he grew, Kaedin reciprocated that love and care, devotedly helping his grandmother with her duties at the Palace, determined to ease her burdens.   Sadly, tragedy strikes, and Mana passes away, leaving Kaedin heartbroken and bereft of the one constant source of love and support in his life. Though gone, her impact on Kaedin's life is immeasurable, her memory a guiding light as he navigates the complexities of life, seeking a place where he truly belongs.
