Session 2: Subduing Siege

General Summary

Wolfsday, 14 Seeding, 998 Y.K.   At first, Ploughshare seemed excited to see the pony, and the other forged as well! Then the sell-shield and Paladin of St. Meighan told the group that they'd been down on their own luck for some time. Work was limited for a bodyguard who wouldn't fight back, especially with memory of the war so close. Plus, they'd been fighting for a long time and just needed some time to rest. mentioned a few possible leads for the group to explore, and specifically told Milli that Morgrave University would probably hire her to go artifact-hunting in exchange for research access.   While Bell and Milli tended to Ploughshare's injuries, Spark and Medya wandered off to retrieve dinner for the group, only to be distracted by a loud crash in the market not too far away. Soon after, cries for a healer drew the two closer to find an orcish girl with a broken jaw, a severe concussion and facial lacerations, among a few other panicked street kids. Rellick took the girl named d'Tharashk Xena to the nearest House Jorasco public center, a sort of arcane urgent care clinic. Meanwhile, Medya returned to Bell's to relay what happened, and Spark and Zer went in search of the assailant.   After Rellick took Xena to House Jorasco, an attendant there asked them to fill out an incident report, which in turn triggered a Watch alert for Siege Seventeen, a forged juggernaut who was deeply traumatized by the Last War. One night, they lost all their money at a dust den called the Sands of Time in Lower Menthis. They were savagely beaten by the guards when they lost their temper and then tossed into the street. In pain, confused, and humiliated, Siege staggered to Lower Dura , to the Crater Bazaar, only to run into a group of orcish and human teens playing together. In the noise and confusion, the orc girl Xena's invitation to play was seen as a threat and Siege lashed out, laying the girl out in a single massive blow.   The children's curiosity and nervousness turned instantly to fear, and they either fled or started grabbing weapons. The noise and confusion overwhelmed Siege, who smashed a tent pole and tore through the canvas, fleeing to the warehouse district near the docks. There, they hid behind a crate of Riedran silks bound for Galethspyre. The company found them there, having unfortunately informed the guards of Siege's assault on the girl. They managed to calm Siege down enough to get them to tell them what had happened to them that night, and they agreed to help the forged out of the city. The group masked Krayg's head and Medya charmed the forged into pretending to be broken beyond repair until being escorted outside.   d'Tharashk Krayg retrieved the Watch order for Siege once Spark said she'd do "anything" to get that order pulled. After burning it, the group performed some minor repairs on Krayg, then smuggled them out of the city, having Zer-Atæsh blink them past the city walls. They informed Siege in no uncertain terms that Siege owed Bell big for this, and Siege agreed. Back at Bell's tent, Spark found a note from Krayg informing her that he'd found just the mission for her crew.
