The Wild Spirit and the Wild Hunt

Force of Nature

The Wild Spirit is thought of as the culminated consciousness of the Neutralia, the neutral-aligned gods. This is meant to reflect the peace of nature, something more along the lines of lawfulness rather than chaos. It's more on the side of plants and weather. This is more Dulvir's area of expertise (the god of plants and storms), as his domain exhibits sides of both chaos and law, but mostly law. He is also thought to be the main contributor to this consciousness, and all things connected to nature are believed to be in a sort of connection to one another (or so the druids and shamans say). The Wild Spirit isn't prayed to like the gods, but rather honored, as it is a personification of nature rather than a deity. However, when it is massively disrespected (such as killing an animal messenger of a god, burning down an entire forest, etc.), the fury of its "other side" will be shown.

Howling Winds

The candles go out, the doors swing wide open, and a howling wind that vaguely resembles an owl's screech all signal that nature's fury will be felt. Not even Morrok (the god of animals and hunting) is responsible for this, though his most chaotic aspects are felt in this "other personality" of the Wild Spirit. This is the Wild Hunt, a horde of spectral warriors made up of elven hunters, goblins, wolves, bears, stags, and other creatures. Killing a messenger of Morrok will 100% trigger a Wild Hunt attack on the next full moon, and doing other horrific things to nature in large quantities will get the attention of the Wild Spirit to send the Wild Hunt after you with a 50% chance. It only targets those who are guilty, but they inadvertently end up killing livestock and causing supernatural fear in civilians just by looking at them and showing their undead nature. As this is the more negative side of nature, things like parasites, toxic spores, and blights are to be used in the attack, too. The Neutralia don't just cover the good parts of nature, but its horrible aspects, too.

In Art

Especially in rural areas, it is not uncommon to find tapestries and murals of different personifications of the Wild Spirit and the Wild Hunt. Many nobles have attire with artists' depictions of either force of nature.
Date of First Recording
