The Well
The Well is the spiritual home of the Elves. Created during the Godswar, the Well is the repository of Elven souls. Its location on Darkwood is only known by Emerged Elves. Most Elves never see the Well, as they are trapped in a Soulstone to be borne to the Well to await rebirth. Upon the birth of a new Elf the infant child is carried to the Well by the Keepers, dipped into the Well to become an Antecedent bearing a sleeping Ancestor Soul, then returned to their parents. Many Elves will travel to Darkwood to ensure they are close to the Well when they give birth. But they never see the Well. Only the Keepers are trusted with its location.
Once the Antecedent matures and enters their mid adulthood, the Ancestor Soul Emerges. The Ancestor Soul merges with the Antecedent to become the Emerged Soul.
