Pathways

Structures that anchor each end of a Golden Path, the Pathways were originally identical. Over the ages they have resisted damage from the environment or the people, but nothing lasts forever. But with the rise of the Pathkeepers they are now protected from the vicissitudes of time.

Crafted from carefully shaped slabs of white marble and mortared with gold, the Pathways stand tall with a shaft of golden light emanating from its peak. Within is a single cavernous corridor that gently curves upwards but gravity shifts as the ground curves so it feels flat to someone walking the along it. The corridor leads to a tunnel of golden light that connects the Pathways. Beyond the tunnel of golden light the Maelstrom is visible, raging against the ancient magics that make up the Golden Paths.
