Biography
Early Life
In 813, at the age of 18, Jace would join the ranks among T'Cowr's warriors, and it wouldn't be long before he would stand out among his peers. His combat proficiency was immediately apparent, and in no time, he grew comfortable around his new allies. He'd impressively catch the attention of the higher-ups. Not just in his martial skills, but in his values, of which he was very vocal.
Jace remained dedicated to his compassion for and desire to help those in need. Unlike the majority of his peers, his vision of the ideal warrior was separate from national loyalty. He would live by the lesson his father taught him, believing that the legacy a true warrior should seek is one that protects and serves its people rather than the state. To the young wolf, strength did not lie in blind obedience to its government but in the dedication and well-being of all those who call it home.
T'Cowr loved having a promising warrior with the potential and ideals Jace had instilled in him. With beliefs like his, T'Cowr jumped at the opportunity to rush him up the ranks. They'd frequently send Jace on missions intent on re-building the trust T'Cowr once had in the hearts of Táloryn's people. And the organization's efforts paid off, as Jace gave people the impression that T'Cowr was on a path of change and redemption.
In 817, T'Cowr would begin work on their 'One but Separate' effort. Jace, now the poster boy for the organization, was given the opportunity to be part of their first test called 'Project Mortal Decadence' or 'PMD.' The young wolf was to act as the control in the experiment. He'd be put through vigorous physical challenges and training regiments in order to compete with a biomagically enhanced subject.
A week later, Jace was introduced to his counterpart in the test, Rekka, as well as a man named Angli who was to be their supervisor. Competition between the two started strong; however, they quickly got to know each other, and they both grew fond of their competitor. While it was useful to the experiment to know that the two could work well in tandem, it wasn't what the test was looking for. In practice, they were competitors, but behind their obligation was a friendship greater than most.
Just short of a year into the experiment, Jace would begin noticing changes in Rekka's composure. His friend would frequently look worse for wear, but his ability displayed through physical training never seemed to suffer. Rekka's condition grew even worse as time went on. Jace began to notice bruises and dead flesh upon his competition's body that Rekka would be quick to cover and hide from view. Upon asking Rekka what was going on, Rekka confirmed to Jace that his condition was part of the biomagical enhancements done on his body and even more concerning, that he was compliant with seeing it through.
Over time, Jace would slowly learn more about the ultimate goal of PMD, and that it's objective was far from the benevolent test of transmortalism he was sold. Out of care for his friend, Jace would begin to neglect his training in protest. By this point however, the test runners had stopped paying attention to the control. Instead focused on how far they could push the experiment. The wolf's protest's would fall on deaf ears leading to his retirement from T'Cowr as a whole. He'd try to convince Rekka to do the same, but he'd refuse, seeming fully compliant in the changes made to his body.
