T'Cowr
T'Cowr was a Taloryn private military contractor founded in 763. Upon refusing to abide by Taloryn's pacifism campaign, T'Cowr would later be denounced and re-labeled as a terrorist organization.
After the election of 809 and with the announcement of Taloryn's pacifism campaign, T'Cowr's higher-ups would grow concerned as this meant their budget would be cut. Between 809 and 815, many meetings were held between T'Cowr's leadership and the Taloryn crown to discuss the organization's role in the future of the nation. Said meetings would typically end with the crown delegating T'Cowr to continue its civil service as usual; T'Cowr leadership was never happy with this answer.
In response to T'Cowr's dissatisfaction, the crown proposed a compromise where the organization would be given a designated budget for their civil service projects. However, T'Cowr's leadership saw this budget as insufficient and continued to push for more funding. They claimed that with Taloryn's official military being reduced to a defense force, T'Cowr was the only offensive force the nation had. For this reason, they believed that their militia should receive the same amount of financial support that the official military receives. T'Cowr's reasoning was met with one demand. They must disband.
The Taloryn crown had come to the conclusion that T'Cowr's leadership was seeking to profit from war. A practice less than unwelcome under the new monarch. T'Cowr's leadership refused to disband, adamant that their militia was necessary for the survival and legacy of the nation. The organization was subsequently classified as a terrorist organization after their refusal to comply.
The meetings that were held between T'Cowr higher-ups and Taloryn were confidential, so general T'Cowr membership was held in the dark. They were confused as to why they were suddenly considered a danger to the nation they had pledged their lives to. With all the feelings of confusion and betrayal, T'Cowr's leadership saw an opportunity.
T'Cowr's leadership would begin to propagandize their denouncement, claiming that their relabel was a result of the new monarch's weakness and fear of their militia. They took this opportunity to rally their followers and incite fervor for their cause. The propaganda campaign was successful in further radicalizing their supporters, who now saw themselves as rebels fighting against a tyrannical regime. Violence, however, was not their goal.
In an effort to win over the public's sympathy, the general T'Cowr membership was instructed to carry on with their civil service. Behind the scenes, leadership began work on a plan that sought to lobby the Taloryn crown back into the higher-ups favor.
History
T'Cowr initially began as a citizen/paramilitary to be used as levies by the Taloryn crown in times of war. The organization still remained separate from Taloryn's official military, allowing those who were not able to commit to enlistment another opportunity to fight for their country. They were often called upon to assist in various conflicts and were seen as a crucial asset in times of war. During times of peace, T'Cowr would act as a national civil service movement. Its members would seek out communities within Taloryn's borders that needed help. The organization's members would partake in disaster relief, infrastructure projects, and many other forms of public service. After the election of 809 and with the announcement of Taloryn's pacifism campaign, T'Cowr's higher-ups would grow concerned as this meant their budget would be cut.
