Zacam Ne (Zah-Kam Né)

Written by Oliv3eeer

A ritual in the Stywl religion, the equivalent of a Jewish Bat Mitzvah.

History

When the Ängelæc were created, the Gods gifted to 6 chosen ones their attributes, like the Foers for Archeons. They transmitted them to their children, and they did too. It became a tradition amongst believers. It was almost eradicated because of the Grand Domestication, but the families just practiced the ritual in secret. It became a way to prove you were truly an Ängelæc, and a way to rebel against the human oppressors.

Execution

It often starts with greetings, and a blessing of the room. It then continues with the child reading a few verses of the Ne Aldon, enunciating his/her choice of God/Goddess. Then, the sacred item is attached to the child, and they have their first prayer. It is then a mix of festivity, and sacred worship.

Components and tools

The item to be attached to the child depending on what God/Goddess they pledge to, such as the Chysm for Allucam. A copy of the Ne Aldon is needed, along with a sacred item of the God/Goddess such as carved, and engraved oak for Mille. There also often is ambrosia or nectar in their non-natural form, such as frozen nectar, because it is so rare, and this is one of the most important events in an Ängelæc’s life.

Participants

The immediate family of the child attends the ceremony, and often the extended family members. In cases where the child is in the royal family, important members of the court such as lords and ladies also attend it. The High Qaal rarely attends the ceremonies, so it is usually a High Priest or Priestess who performs the ritual.

Observance

This ritual is performed when a male Ängelæc is 10 years old, and for female at 13. It is performed on the third moon of that age.
