Carlotta Marietti
Elderly couple Nazzareno and Carlotta have run the convenience store and deli in southeast corner of the 44 Armando building for decades. The name is a pun - “comodo” means “convenient” in Italian. (It was Nazzareno’s idea.)
The Mariettis own the building, and are thus the landlords for everyone who lives and works inside it. They are pretty great landlords, if a little bit nosy, and Carlotta just loves bringing tenants home-cooked treats in exchange for poking into their personal business in a very Italian-grandmother kind of way.
Faust has known the Mariettis all her life, and she calls them “Nonno” and “Nonna.” If they had a grandson, Carlotta would be trying to set Faust up with him, but as it stands she is just delighted by the sudden introduction of Falcon into the mix and has been extremely unsubtly voicing her opinions about “that handsome young man” and his friendship with Faust. Nazzareno plays along with this because he knows it flusters Faust, and he considers it payback for all the times he pretended not to see her clumsily shoplifting from him when she was young.
