When the Platicalex colony force first arrived on to Gattic, they were isolated in a remote valley in what they named the Doorway Mountains. This isolation ended when, after fifty years, they began exploring eastward and encountered the Orc nation of Orthura. Though the people of the Nucalex colony tried to approach in peace, the Orcs wanted war and bloodshed in the name of their God and the Traitor King Orzemus.
The Conflict
Prelude
The prelude to the War of Birth was multiple decades of peace until contact was made with the Orcs of Orthura. Unbeknownst to the colony, The first messengers where killed, having thought to have possibly been waylaid by accident or beast, however, discovering the heads of the second group with a written declaration of war expunged that notion.
Though numbers vary vastly the deployment of forces for both sides occured in relatively the same manner. First smaller deployments that escalated in tandem until both sides had fully committed all their forces to the battle.
The battlefields of the War of Birth are the mountains and fields between the valley of the original colony and the capitol of Orthura, Urth.
Due to the length of the war, battles were fought in all conditions, from sun to snow to sleet and rain.
Orthura is left utterly destroyed and the colony forces are severely depleted and five dragons less.
Orthura is completely destroyed and The Kingdom of Mithlonde is founded. Its capital, Nurothrim, is built upon the ruins of Urth, the capital city of Orthura.
Historical Significance
Hundreds to possibly thousands of pieces of literature have been written, everything from memoires, poetry, plays, and songs, to the obvious historical recordings. Alternative historical fiction surrounding the war has also found an audience among the peoples of Mithlonde.
