Muerios
Muerios, the fourth of Omega's chosen, was born into a role of profound connection and sorrow. She was the wife of Lazerous, the God of Light and Darkness, and stood by his side as he created the first star. Yet, when that star collapsed and tore Lazerous apart, her life was irrevocably altered.
Faced with two remnants of her husband—Luz, the radiant light, and Oscuris, the shadowed darkness—Muerios was confronted with an impossible question: Which one was her true husband? She sought my counsel, and I told her to choose the man who could love her as Lazerous once did. And so, with great hesitation, she chose Luz, whose light reminded her of the warmth and love she had known.
But Muerios, wise and empathetic even then, did not turn her back on Oscuris. When death emerged in the universe—a concept unknown before the creation of mortal life—she accepted its weighty mantle, becoming the guide of souls, the keeper of the divide between life and the afterlife. It was her own way of making amends, a silent apology to Oscuris for not choosing him. Through her new role, she offered him a quiet comfort, showing that he too had a purpose, even in the darkness.
Over time, Muerios grew wiser. The countless souls she ferried across the waters of the divide taught her the nature of love, loss, and the transient beauty of existence. She became a figure of compassion and understanding, her presence a solace to the dying and the dead. Though burdened by her role, she found peace in serving as a bridge between worlds, offering guidance to those who crossed her path.
Now, Muerios is often found in the divide, seated upon her small boat, a solitary figure on the dark, endless waters. Her lantern glows faintly, a beacon for the lost. She waits in silence, her oar ready to ferry souls across the eternal expanse. She does not resent her role; instead, she embraces it, knowing that her work brings closure to those who pass.
Though she chose Luz as her partner, there remains a quiet connection between her and Oscuris—a mutual understanding, born of pain and love, that transcends their choices. Muerios embodies the balance between light and dark, life and death, and through her wisdom, she brings meaning to the cycle of existence.
