Babylon Mercenaries

The Babylon Mercenaries, often referred to simply as Babylon, were a mysterious and legendary group of warriors that operated in the galaxy. Known for their exceptional combat skills, unwavering dedication to noble causes, and their role in pivotal events throughout history, Babylon was an enigmatic force. Their history, origins, and true nature were subjects of intrigue and debate among historians and scholars.

  The Babylon Mercenaries had an ancient and storied history that predated even the rise of the Hegemony of Man. The exact origins of the organization remained elusive, with some accounts suggesting they had been active for centuries. Their emergence coincided with the early days of Faster than Light Travel, and they quickly gained a reputation for safeguarding advanced technology and intervening in critical galactic events.  

Philosophy and Purpose

  Babylon adhered to a strict code of ethics that emphasized the defense of righteousness and justice. Their motto, "Pro Iusto," meaning "For Justice" in the ancient language, encapsulated their commitment to maintaining order in a galaxy marked by corruption and chaos. While their specific goals remained a closely guarded secret, Babylon was often sought after for missions that required unwavering dedication to moral principles.  

Notable Figures

  Babylon's leadership and prominent members operated under aliases and concealed their identities. They were skilled warriors who underwent extensive training and augmentation, granting them superhuman abilities. The identities of these individuals, however, remained unknown to the public.  

Operations and Influence

  The Babylon Mercenaries were highly selective in the missions they undertook. Their services were rarely employed for personal gain or conquest but were instead reserved for matters of great importance. These included safeguarding advanced technology, protecting vulnerable populations, or countering existential threats to the galaxy.   One of their most well-documented interventions was during the events surrounding Jesus's encounter with the Shrike, an entity interpreted as the devil. According to ancient clay tablets and the journals of Pope Pius XVI, Babylon played a crucial role in preventing Jesus from accepting the Shrike's offer of immortality, ultimately saving him from a grim fate.  

Technology and Capabilities

  Babylon Mercenaries were renowned for their combat prowess, mastering advanced weaponry and hand-to-hand combat techniques. Their advanced armor provided them with state-of-the-art defensive and offensive capabilities, making them nearly invulnerable in battle. Additionally, Babylon was believed to possess advanced technology that surpassed the capabilities of most known factions in the galaxy.  

Legacy and Downfall

  The legacy of the Babylon Mercenaries was one of mystery, heroism, and intrigue. Their influence on pivotal moments in galactic history earned them a place of reverence and curiosity among scholars and historians. However, their enigmatic existence came to an abrupt end.   After the rise of Pope Pius XVI, he ordered the destruction of the Babylon Mercenaries to eliminate any traces of his own quest to find the Shrike. In a secretive operation, the PAX Knight Templars confronted and decimated the Babylon Mercenaries, reducing their once-legendary status to mere whispers in the annals of history.   Despite their downfall, the Babylon Mercenaries left an indelible mark on the galaxy, serving as a testament to the enduring struggle for justice and order in the vast cosmos, even as their own existence faded into obscurity.
