Isle of Rest
This is an island located near the northern edge of the Bottom Lands of Pleska and is an abandoned burial ground featuring a chapel and several large mausoleums. Individual graves are also present in large nimbers and are marked by stone burial posts, many of which have fallen over. The burial site has been abandoned for over a hundred years and has been forgotten by the grave wardens that once were its keepers. The island is undergoing subsidence into the surrounding swamp and is overgrown with vegetation.
Geography
This is a low lying but rocky island slowly sliding into the surrounding swamp. Pools of standing water have collected on the island's surface. The central part of the island is slightly higher and rockier than the ends which have become wet, reed chocked mud flats with stands of trees occupying any slightly elevated ground. The central part of the island, occupied by the graveyard, has many trees swathed in vines and moss.
Ecosystem
Unlike surrounding islands, visitors might notice an absence of any animal life more signifcant than insects. However, the vegetation here is thriving. The lack of animals larger than insects is a result of the presence of large numbers of undead that remain a passive state until unleashed on unwanted visitors.
Climate
During the summer the island is hot and humid duringthe winter cold and wet.
Fauna & Flora
Swamp grasses dominate the edges of the island, but as it gains elevation trees and vines become common. Mnay of the trees are dead as the rising water level has drowned their root systems.
History
About three hundred years ago the Grave Wardens established a burial ground to serve several nearby communities. The graveyard eventually filled up and with the island slowly sinking into the swamp the Grave Wardens abandoned the island. For years the gravwardens would visit checking the wards and the seals on the tombs. But after a few decades it was completely forgotten allowing the Necromancer Belgaz Krinnos to move in and use it as a base for his nefarious activities.
Tourism
Maybe someone has a sudden urge to visit their great grandfather's grave, but than you might have something better to do like dig a new cesspit.

I think the background and overall concept of your piece are well thought-out and a great fit for the prompt. The visual description of the location is beautifully done – I really enjoyed that part! However, the element of “danger” felt somewhat like an afterthought. It didn’t quite match the strength and richness of your setting. The historical background, while interesting, didn’t feel as developed as the environmental details. Just some honest feedback – I truly appreciate the mood you created with the setting!
