Kinslayer Steel
The wailing banemetal forged in flame to bring a second death to Undead
Mechanical Benefits
HP/Inch: 30 Hardness: 10 For Weapons: Weapons made of Kinslayer Steel always deal B/P/S damage instead of their normal damage type(s). In addition, such weapons also gain an extraordinary version of the Ghost Touch and Bane Weapon Special Qualities - the Bane Quality functioning against Undead and any creature the wielder is blood-related to or otherwise considers a trusted friend or ally. Additionally, one of the following abilities may also be added depending on which aspect of the vengeful spirits are channeled during the weapon's creation:For Armor: Armor made of Kinslayer Steel wards a creature against the foul, profane energies of the grave and automatically lowers all energy drain, ability damage, and ability drain by an amount equal to 1 + the armor's enhancement bonus. Kinslayer Steel Armor also increases the death threshold for the wearer by 10(Whether they are living or undead) and grants a bonus on all Constitution checks to stabilze equal to 5 + 2x the armor's enhancement bonus. Additionally, when worn, the wearer of Kinslayer Steel armor can cloak themselves in a mundane, extraordinary disguise as a swift action and appear as an undead creature whose appearance is largely determined by the wearer(Skeletal, Zombie, Etc) until they spend an identical action to return to normal. If the wearer is undead, they may instead appear as a living creature instead as per an extraordinary guise of life. Finally, if the wearer of Kinslayer Steel armor dies while wearing it, the armor will eventually shatter as it absorbs the wearer's grudges and residual necrolytic energies - preventing them from returning as an undead naturally(Though potentially becoming an animated armor or other haunted armor set in the process). If the wearer is an undead, the armor will help stave off the Soulshivers while worn. Ammunition: Ammunition made of Kinslayer Steel functions identically to Weapons made of Kinslayer Steel, but cannot be augmented with a Rite.
- Rite of Empathy: By ritualistically anointing a weapon made of Kinslayer Steel with the blood of a creature living or dead over the course of a minute, they may attune the weapon's bane quality to that creature if it weren't already for the next 24 hours and gain a status effect on the creature for the same duration if the creature in question has accumulated many grudges against them(Gm Discretion). If the creature is dead(And not undead), the weapon instead allows the wielder to speak with them as per speak with dead(Save negates). If the target is particularly consumed by grudges or hatreds, there is no save and the target answers to the best of its ability(Though its answers may be tainted by its grudges).
- Rite of Hatred: If a creature succeeds their save vs a curse or necromancy effect while wielding a Kinslayer Steel weapon, the weapon absorbs the spell/effect and stores it to be discharged on a future attack against a struck target similar to the spell storing weapon special quality. The weapon may store a number of effects in this way equal to 1 + its enhancement bonus, and the wielder can choose which to discharge at the time of attack.
- Rite of Love: Weapons made of Kinslayer Steel have an uncanny ability to absorb grudges and negate the onset of Necrolysis - if a weapon made of Kinslayer Steel is plunged into a corpse as a move action(Or as an immediate action when slaying a creature), it ignites with sickly green paleflame, dealing 2d6 extra damage on all attacks(Not criticals) for one minute that counts as both fire and cold damage(Whichever is most beneficial in the moment). Creatures or Corpses used to trigger this ability are prevented from naturally becoming an undead creature, and are treated as having SR equal to 15 + their HD in life vs all magical attempts to turn them into an undead.

Kinslayer steel is a material produced in the icy-cold, wind-blasted lands of Venau, far to the north and away from prying eyes. While no one quite knows for certain how it’s produced, rumors abound of the material being created by the Dread Lich Barkhan himself, wreathed from pure arcane might and the bones of those slain by the undead which have been coated in mithril and heated in the hottest forges of the north...the curses within the bones are said to seep into the forging process, and contaminate the metal with horrible, awful hatred. Tinged a deep shade of blackish-green and wreathed in ethereal green flames, the wailing faces of those living used to forge it apparate in the flames at irregular intervals...and while few have managed to procure it outside of Venau, it has shown its worth first hand in the secretive Undead Hunts that take place within the snowy plains, beneath the moonlit sky. Burning undead skin like charcoal and hitting like a club, sword, and rapier all at once, this material singes the twisted, rotted souls of the undead it faces and can even outright atomize them with a solid strike.Properties
