Session 48: The Barren Shores

The Wandering Scholars are on the Barren Shores, and they have found a tabaxi who seems like Guen's mom. they set up tents and eat some food, and as they do, some Unseelie Shadow Lurkers stumble upon their camp, and see Guen's mom and go in to get her back to their encampment near the Pallid Grove, where she had escaped from. Olin and Guen fight off a few of them, heal Guen's mom who had fallen, and travel back towards the encampment, as Guen's mom (once Olin heals her tongue) speaks of a book where the people record things that might be of use to the party. They arrive in the treeline near the camp, and make a plan. Flick summons a phantom steed with orders to run around the walled camp after 30 min. He also casts invisibility on the 4 of the folks (the hoardborne is with them).   Entering the camp they see a big tent which is where Guen's mom said the book was likely to be, and they go in the tent easily. All the folks have the veils in the Faceless Faction style. It looks like these folks are just researchers..... part of the recorder here refers back to the digsite at R? when they found the notes from the one room in going to Olin's home, and thinks, maybe these are the Faceless Scholars???   Flick casts fireball, and in turn, those who were hurt turn to him and hurt him. Guen gets the book they were after (the page that was open looked like a just completed cypher key), Olin got a different book. (The Arbiter's Fate). Flick got hurt.   The hoardeborne found scrap metals, the phantom steed made its lap, and the tent was on fire. They manage to exit seemingly unnoticed in the chaos, and dimension door back to Guen's mom, who hid well --this time--.   They ask her questions, and she confirms that Guen's other parent was called Edo, (Eredok or Ethedok), so Guen is a demi-god. They asked a couple other questions, but I don't recall specifics.   Flick found a note in reply to the flame being taken.
