Session 35: Arrested...? Report
General Summary
The Wandering Scholars were enraptured in a memory with Pipus where they were forcefully body swapped with another being. (The group would have recognized the changeling as Pendi from the prior memory) They saw Pendi (now wearing a glowing white skin) had them a tightly wrapped cloth that shifted occasionally. Pendi instructed them (Pya) to go and deliver it safely to a house that the party would recognize as The Memory Dealer's cottage, and to do so hurriedly. In this memory, with the bundle they traveled through the faewild, and somewhere between entering the faewild and stumbling into Innistrad the bundle went missing.
Shunted from this dream, Ospreay and Flick can't maintain grasp, and get woken up from the spell effects, and Flick uses Dream to communicate with Andre (who was having a great dream that he was in a all you could eat pub where the drinks were desserts and the meals were gormet). Flick asks if Andre recognizes the little bundle, and he says it looks similar in color to what he found Olin in, and that when he found Olin there was a leather cord that had a compass attached that had what looked like 'Olin' inscribed. Hence the name. Ospreay starts writing a letter to Beth and Andre. Olin is put in a spectator situation where he is front seat watching some looming scary entity with (3 horns??) and Claws?? cut threads that Olin and the other (mortal-seeming) figure under attack could see. Spooky stuff. Olin interfered and was spat out and awake in the room in the spire by fire. Flick has another night of going insane. Pipus feeds him bugs. Guen misses out on a long rest to follow a noise, and finds Geoff (Jeff), Harry's eldest heading to a crime scene. His day job is the coronor, and there was a brutal murder of 5 people in the museum of House Lumas. Going with Geoff, they chat for a bit, and she is not let behind the police perimeter. She does not realize she was followed, and Robyn skirts around on the cliff face to get inside the museum to talk with Geoff. Pleasentries were exchanged, the Dahlia's were mentioned (whatever that is??? O.O), and Robyn left Geoff to do his work and finds Guen. In chatting she sticks with Guen to go get food at the Spire By Fire, and they arrive back to an Olin who is reading. Slowly the party trickles in, as Robyn is talking about these murders, Flick all but confesses to Robyn that it was him, Pipus, Ospreay, Jade, Saphiq, and Shroomy, to her--but then does confess to police who are skeptical (Who would confess to the murders of 5 people??) Ospreay tries to run, is tackled, and Ospreay, Flick and Pipus are brought to Jurgon's Jailyard ( the new updated precinct of Jrusar on the Smolder Spire) and are placed in lock up, where a person goes to get a statement make sketches, and then.. they are left there.
Robyn, Guen, and Olin make their way to the police station, and manage to go to the 2nd floor where they offer to help (maybe the fish spoke a different language or didn't understand things????) and they left, Robyn having +300 gold in her pocket.
In light of a fire, and not seeing a need to hold some crazy confessors without solid evidence Ospreay, Flick and Pipus are released right after a call to action at the Temple of the Duskmaven, where things have been set ablaze with magical means, and it is catching nearby buildings on fire. The Party works to put out the fire, and rescue all inhabitants in the orphanage and cathedral. We ended with the group (except Pipus??) going and taking a break in Flick's lamp. and when they pop out 10 min later, there is a note staked in the ground with Guen's name on it. It is signed "Rin". There is also blood, that is likely from Pipus in the nearby alley... a lot of it. Like a lot.
