Funerals and Mourning Periods
When a human dies their immediate family, friends, spouses, children, and anyone else who was close to the deceased goes into a period of mourning. This period varies in length depending on how close the individual was to the deceased party. This period usually lasts a few months for friends and acquaintances; but with family members it can extend for up to 5 years. During this period the mourners wear purple clothes with cloth masks over their eyes. They also do not mention the deceased by first name, only refering to them as what connection they had and last name.
Funeral rites are done one week after the person's death. In this the body or effect of a body if none is available is brought to one of theĀ Resting ponds and floated into it.
