The Ruby Hall
Staple of life in Ynath is the longhouse, the Hall where the most important decisions are taken. The Ruby Hall was finely constructed in Bruorsivi a few decades ago, when Ynath started to grow in size and power. It stands on the eastern part of the village, and boasts a large room and yard, where the villagers are welcome to take part in assembly and decision-making.
Design
The longhouse is split into two distinct areas: the main hall where tables and benches are lined up, and at the end fo which stands a large chair where the Reeve sits, as well as private, closed-off appartements including a kitchen and a few rooms. The later are obviously closed to the public, richly decorated.
Entries
There are two main entrances to the Ruby Hall. The public entrance is on the longest of the walls and stands two doors wide, leading directly into the main room. A private exit leads to the garden at the back, going through the Reeve's apartments.
Sensory & Appearance
The lights always appear dim, perhaps because of the dark color of the woods, the small number of torches, or even the imposing furniture and pillars holding the roof. Because a fire is always burning in the house, for warmth and light, the smell of smoke is usually the first thing anyone who walks in notice.
Regardless, it's a warm and mostly welcoming house where people should feel free to walk in at any time.
