Zoleis
Basic Information
Anatomy
The wild Zolis is a tan colored marvel of the deserts, uniquely fit for the environment. They have thick hides that are nigh impenetrible to slashing damage and large feet that prevent their four slender legs from sinking into the sands. Zolis have four long ears, two on each side of their heads for dispelling heat and detecting hostile shifts in the sand and air. One of the more interesting features of the Zolis is its trunk which gives them the appearance of having a long snout.
Dietary Needs and Habits
Zolis eat mostly bugs, particularly desert bees, termites, centipedes, and spiders. They use their long snout and tongue to probe the sand and burrows on insects for their next meals, which also supplies them with sugars and water from the colony's resiviors.
Behaviour
Zolis have a reputation as enigmatic as they are able to detect the desert storms from long distances and timescales. They are relatively skittish creatures and rely on their speed to escape predation. They have been long domesticated by the nomads and inhaitants of the Oazallan Desert and serve as mounts for these people.
