Iron Lancers
Structure
The Iron Lancers feature an extremely regimented military hierarchy based on experiance and aptitude in battle. Most Iron Lancers begin as guardsmen or Soldiers who find themselves heading the call of wanderlust or looking to progress their carreer. The selection process is gruling and tests the mettle of even esteemed verterans but those who are able to pass may find themselves among the ranks of the Iron Lancers. Those who prove their enduring skill in the crucible of battle may even find themselves among the ranks of the Honor Guard, a hardened group of veterans who are equpped with Iron Lancer Heirloom Armor, the sight of which making even the most audacious of foes have second thoughts.
Culture
The motivations of the Iron Lancers are often no mystery: Follow Orders, Maintain the Chain of Command. Iron Lancers maintain a soldier-like discipline that would put most larger organizations to shame. The chain of command is a brutal hierarchy with no leiniancy for devianance and zero tolerance for defiance. The mortals of the Iron Lancers are hammered into perfect units often of 5. One squad leader and for underlings who follow, each suqad leader belonging to a triumverate and so on until reaching the Iron Generals and of course, The Anvil. When Iron Lancers appear, they are there to complete a task and will act in accordance to the orders given without second thought.
Public Agenda
The Iron Lancers are often employed to bolster the ranks of paying militaries and often act as shock calvary. As their name suggest, the Iron Lancers often weild a superheavy Lance, massive spears that look more at home at ceremonies than in battle. These Lances are often custom-made for each unit and some even have unique properties. Their iconic Heavy Lancer Armor is well documented, often having heavy Steel plates and featuring a Frog Helm. They hold close ties to worshippers of Degir as well as the Guild of the Hammer. The Iron Lancers are well respected in the communities they engage with and have a reputation of honor beyond what is expected from a foe. Many have spread tales of surviving an Iron Lancer assault, mostly because they are known to show mercy to foes who have been throughly defeated.
