Grievous Injury

Combat can be dangerous and any moment may swifty turn the tide of battle against even seasoned combatents. Occasionally, characters may recieve Grevious Injuries or Wounds which cannot be treated in the heat of combat and will continue to plague the character until properly healed.   Types of Injuries may have different effects and servarity depending on where on the body they are. Types of Injuries and their discriptions are listed below.   Gash: An open wound, often made with slashing effects resulting in the seperation of tissues and bleeding. Large enough that the skin around the wound cannot close on its own and thus requires intervention to heal.     Puncture: A wound made by a narrow or pointed object that is often deeper than it is long. At times the object is retained or only partially removed.     Fracture: Often caused by blunt force, a fracture is the breaking or shattering of structural tissues causing loss of use and often incredible pain.       Wounds can effect the Arms, Legs, Abdomen, Chest, and Head. The table below outlines the effects of injuries when on specific bodily objects.
GashPunctureFracture
Arm Acts as an irremovable MedBleed proc until cured. Lowers Str by 2 Acts as an irremovable Light Bleed proc until cured. Lowers Strenth by 3 Arm is unusable and any object in the effected hand is dropped. Stregnth Decresed by 4
Leg Acts as an irremovable MedBleed Proc until cured.. Lowers Movement Speed by 15 Acts as an irremovable Light Bleed proc until cured. Lowers Movement Speed by 20 Movement speed is dropped by half Affected leg is unusable Dexterity decreased by 4
Chest Acts as an irremovable MedBleed Proc until cured. Lowers constitution by 5. Adds a stack of exhaustion. Adds a Stack of Heavy Bleed Prevents self heals like second wind and lowers effectiveness of healing by hald Lowers Constitution by 8
Abdomen Acts as an irremovable MedBleed Proc until cured. Adds a Stack of Exhaustion Adds "Stunned" Status effect for one turn Lowers constitution by 10 Adds the 'Poisoned' status effect Sets Movement speed to 0 for 1 round Adds two stacks of exhaustion
Head Acts as 2 irremovable MedBleed Procs until cured. Perception checks have disadvantage until removed Rendered Immediatly Unconsious Adds Two stacks of concussion Disadvantage on perception checks Disadvantage on wisdom and intellegence chceks
Elemental damage types may also result in grevious injuries, althogh some have different effects when creating wounds.   Fire: More than 70% of a body being covered in 2nd-3rd degree burns.
  • Causes 1 exhaustion per effected area.
Frost/Ice: Hypothermia of the effected tissue and localised frostbite.
  • Freezing removes 10 to your movement speed and you take double physical damage to effected limb
Lightning: Electricity will often channel through conductive bodies to ground, grevious injuries often reult from the current running through one or several tissues vital for funtioning.
  • Unconsious if hitting chest or head, affects two body parts.
Thunder: Concussive force can case internal injuries to sensative tissues
  • Causes Fracture and adds a stack of concussion. Increased damage to chest and head.
Acid: Chemical burns and severe corrosion of flesh
  • Damage increases incrementally until healing is received.
Force: Concentrated points of magical energy leave marks simmilar to physical attacks.
  • Applies peircing or bludgeoning effects.
Necrotic: Causes necrotising of flesh which can travel to other parts of the body and increase in severity.
  • Disables the Limb and applies the Necrosis condition.
Radiant: Light-based attacks, cause burn damage and leave blanched and petrified flesh in its wake.
  • Disables the effected part via petrification.
