Good Children's House
Located in the heart of the City of Gys, this charitable institution houses the city's numerous orphaned children.
Structure
The Orphanage is run by the city's local chapter of the Good Sisters. The orphanage's director position is called a "Head Sister", and she is in charge of apointing all other positions within the orphanage. In total, about 100 good sister work in the orphanage, including wet nurses, cleaning staff, bakers and teachers.
The children, who can be as young as a few weeks old, to around 16 years old, are separated by age groups, arranged this way: A few months to 3 years old, 3 to 6 years old, 6 to 9 years old, 9 to 12 years old, and 12 to 16 years old. The children are also separated between boys and girls, starting at the age of 9, due to religious reasons. Human and mage children are also separated from each other until the age of 12, due to security regions.
Public Agenda
The goal of the orphanage is to help the homeless children of the capital. This is part of the Good Sisters's overall goal of alievating suffering in the world by helping the needy, including children.
Assets
The orphanage's main building is three stories tall, and contains a large basement. The building is divided into three sections: a central main hall, and two connected wings. Between those two wings and the main hall, a paved courtyard, which contains numerous planted trees, including apple and pear trees, that offer shade in the hot summer days of the city. The Orphanage also possess a small temple within the courtyard, which is dedicated only to the staff and children of the building.
History
The orphanage was founded by the local chapter of the Good Sisters on the site of an old delapitated solian temple in the year 180ac, a few years into the infamous 20 year's war against the Kavasian Empire, which had left many orphans and widows in the city as their fathers and husbans went to war, never to return. Many children also became orphaned after the war, when their widowed mothers found it difficult to support them alone. Even after the effects of the war subsided, the orphanage was kept open, as the demand remained high enough.
Demography and Population
Currently, the orphanage is at normal capacity, housing around 300 children and 100 staff members. The vast majority of both the staff and the children are humans, but about a quarter of the kids are Elemental Mages, who usualy come from human families who don't know how to raise a mage, or don't have the means to do so. Soulbound Mages are very rarely accepted in most orphanages run by the Good Sisters. The children's median age is around 5 years old, which is also when many of them get adopted or a bit later, to be raised to become servants or apprentices.
Education
Children living within the orphanage have the opportunity to get a basic education, which includes reading and writing in Gysian, as well as basic mathematics, such as additions and substrations. These are taught by the Good Sisters, who also reside in the orphanage.
Mage children aged 8 or 9 and older can be sent to mage schools for short training camps, usualy a month or two long, before being sent back to the Orphanage. Older mages can also stay for a while at those mage schools, but retain their place at the orphanage.

Calydan's experience
Calydan was brought to this orphanage when he was barely 3 months old. Despite being a mage, he was raised as a human there since the Good Sisters did not know of his nature thanks to him not exibiting any signs of magical affinity. Over the years, Calydan made friends with a few other childrens, mainly those he slept with in their shared room. He particularly liked playing tag and hide and seek with them. Soon after turning 5 years old, he was adopted by Benars, an alchemist from City of Gandasi. However, while he remembers many moments of his time at the, his most vivid one is his tearful tearful goodbye to his friends, who he hasn't seen since and probably never will again.
