Dulcis Saxum

Dulcis Saxum is the resin that accumulates when the sap of the Cocoa-Coffea Tree is left to harden. It is a common staple at the kitchen table of nearly every family amongst all strata of Sprites. While its name literally means "sweet rock," it is most often referred to as simply saxum.

It is harvested by the Root Sprite Colony of each tree, preferably while it's still wet and sticky and easy to scrape off of the tree's delicate roots.

This sticky sap is collected into long sheets and allowed to dry into a hard, crystalline form. This is then run through grinders until it is broken down into a fine, granular dust similar to sand...but much better tasting.

In fact, it's not just better than sand, it would actually make sand taste better!

Saxum is the secret to all Sprite cuisine, from Moon-Brewed Chocoffee to the flavors of the dried cacao and roasted coffee beans themselves. Saxum makes it all taste better.

Wood. Leaves. Grass. Blend it with a bit of saxum and heighten all of the natural flavors and refreshing sweetness in every bite or swallow of slurry!

It's not just about the flavor enhancing properties. Sprites who consume large quantities of saxum experience excess energy, a sense of euphoria, and digestive looseness. This latter is usually enough to keep overconsumption to a minimum, however young sprites will often play a game where they dare each other to consume saxum until the inevitable.

Kids will, after all, be kids. ghjghj
