Abhinav, of The Autum Harvest
The one who sees the larbor of the field...
And rewards the virtues of a simple life. As the god of the harvest and the autumn season, Abhinav oversees change and the various ways in which life can change. Like many deities in theĀ Shenaim 'Ahsir, few mortals have ever seen the god with thieir eyes, but visions and artistic expression has given way to a genrally accepted appearance. His apparent age is ever changing, shifting between a youthful teenager, a lean and calloused man, or a silver haired veteran; each visage has a laurel of intertwined wheat on his head, the teenager has green and growing, the man has golden and blooming, and the veteran has withered and brown. Each visitation of Abhinav has brown eyes, rimmed in gold, scarlet brown hair (that grows more silver in his older appearances), and his body is often based on what form he takes; the teenager has a lean, slinder body, the man has a more muscular frame but with more fat on his body, and the elder is again lean, and his musculature is well defined, as if from a long life's work. His places of worship is often in communal temples, a shared space with other gods of the Shenaim 'Ahsir or in small shrines as part of a local farmers guild or an individual farmer's home. Offerings are often agracultural in natrue and usually include some sort of first harvests. This sect of the 'Ahsir doesn't have a well designed clergy structure but often will appoint clerics in times of sowing and harvesting to pilgramage in an area and bless farmland and workers. Communal temples, often in cities, will have a select number of clerics present to answer questions and help. While they are well trained in agracultural practices and keep updated on best practices for farming success, they also are trained in helping someone deal with sudden changes in life. These clerics, not normally being of a violent nature, often carry sickles and hand axes for weapons. Although Abhinav is one of the popular gods, his worship is much more seasonal, so he doesn't have as many dedicated temples like Paragon or Hayah. Major events corrosponding with Abhinav and his worship include:- The Nav Festivals. These are generally held at times of sowing and harvesting to give thanks to Abhinav. Usually lasting no more than three days.
- Some Marriages or Concemption Celebrations. Whilst Hayah is goddess of new life and renewal and primarily presides over marriage, followers of Abhinav may choose to celebrate their union or pregnancy with him instead of Hayah.
- Any sporting game held within the Autumn Season. Primarily the games are dedicated to Alvah, but secondarily, Abhinav recieves some reverence as well.
Relationships
Generally, Aghinav has a calm and pleasent demeanor. Rarely coming to anger, acts of wrath may include things like: withering plants, barren fields, or in the worst cases, the loss of new life (livestock or personal)
Abhinav's relationship with the rest of the Shenaim 'Ahsir is mostly ammicable. He relates most well with Hayah, Gelena, and Zyran. Abhinav is at great odds with Reiner, Saffron and Thanriel.
