When first published centuries ago, it caused a revelation in the scientific and religious comunity, for at the time they were largely one and the same. It is thought the prospect of finding one of these ancient tombs lead to the establishement of Trondhiem as the book lead to many adventurers searching for these long forgotten artifacts.
The Histories have since fallen out of popularity, accurate or no the church has since recalled all copies and it is thought all have been destroyed.
Yet rumour has it the university still holds a copy on the dusty untouched shelves of a far corner of their great library, forgotten by all but the ever vigilant librarian.
Purpose

The Histories, by Saint Yça
Found within is the result of a lifetimes work, the last decade alone I have travelled all across the Empire visiting our most Holy Spaces and talking with most Wizened individuals who illuminated much to me.
The tale that is told here both fills me with fear and fascination, for it has long been known that while we are without Gods, those terrors of the Sun in the world above have enjoyed the favours of such beings, which have turned many of our great victories into defeat.
This comes as part of an ongoing effort by myself to identify why they have such a boon and how it can be negated.
As such, please enjoy the product of my search, for I believe this to be the most accurate history of the early times before memory.
When the Gods made the world they looked upon its vastness and grew bored,
Thus the Gods made plants, but they simply stood and basked in the Gods light and the Gods quickly tired of them.
Thus the Gods made animals, but the animals only roamed and ate and mated, so yet again the Gods grew weary.
Then one day the youngest of the Gods had an idea, he gave some bipedal creatures curiosity to learn, and imagination to create. the Gods were fascinated.
But the creatures did not know when to stop, and soon the gods abandoned them trapping them underground as they started a new world above the old.
The creatures would not be deterred, with their broad imaginations and great stores of knowledge they hatched a plan to capture the gods, so that once more they could enjoy their light and power.
Their plan suceeded, they managed to lure some of the gods down to talk and activated their infernal machines entrapping these gods in totems.
Soon these creatures realised that these bound gods were at their mercy, and that they could tap into their power unrestrained.
it did not take long for them to rbeak into fights, arguing over who should wield this power and becoming too jealous to share it between each other.
This began the Mage wars which ravaged the Underdark, leaving once fertile plains and forests into barren desolate places.
but in time, these great relics of power were lost, hidden away in tombs jealously guarded by thier dead masters deep in the earth, far away from the prying eyes and machinations of any other.
