Half-Elf
Origins
Half-Elves are the result of elves having children with other races. Contrary to the name, Half-Elves do not need to be half-elf. Elves consider anyone less than a full-blooded elf to be a Half-Elf, and there have been records of individuals with as little as a great-great-great-grandparent exhibiting Half-Elven traits.Regions
Half-Elves can be found in many elven communities outlide of Riflian. Behind the wall, however, most live in a town called Halfsville. The full-blooded Elves in Riflian also refer to this town as Muttsville or Mongrel Town.Stereotypes
Stereotype | Why this Stereotype Exists |
---|---|
Half-Elves are frowned upon. | While this is true in Riflian, it is not particulary true for the communities of Elves in the wider world. Even some elves behind the Wall of Walking Frost love their half-elf children, even if they can't be as open about it. |
Half-Elves are a combination of Elves and Dwarves. | Elven biology has proven to be compatible with a great number of other races. Most of this has been discovered through the actions of a small number of Elven Bards. |
Half-Elves find it easy to fit in. | Many find it hard to locate acceptance in cultures of either of their parents, no matter how supportive their parents might be. Both cultures they are born into are likely to see them as the other. One notable exception is Half-Elves that are also half Biethtíre. |
