Gith

Origins

With their strange, almost alien, biology and their rigid society, many scholars have theorized, many independantly, that the Gith are not native here. They posit that they entered this reality through the dreams of a strange being. While not much is known about these beings, they are sometimes referred to as the Dead Dreaming or the Dread Dreaming. Their purpose or reason for being seems to have been lost, or maybe it was never dreamed. Regardless, these strange beings are often regarded as suspicious due to their strange origins.

The Gith are located on Duality Isle, as well as several smaller outlying islands.

Stereotypes

Sterotypes	Why this Stereotype Exists
The Gith are as isolationist as the Elves.	It is the nature of their living on an island that gives them this reputation as it is hard to reach them. If they are sought out, however, they can be very welcoming.
The Gith have knowledge of magic and technology far advanced from the rest of the world.	There is no proof of this, and while it could be true that they did have this knowledge at some point in the past, that it was lost when they were dreamed into this realm. Scholars who spent much of their lives cultivating trust with the Gith have reported no secret knowledge.
The Gith are heavily militaristic.	When encountering the Gith, it is the Githyanki that are often met first. Of the two types of Gith, they are the more physical. Since they are often the first impression, they are often the one that most people remember.
