Karrlakton
Located along the Cyre River, southeast of Korth, the second great city of Karrnath stares into the face of disaster across the turbulent waters. Karrlakton, an ancient place of power and the birthplace of kings (both Karrn the Conqueror and Galifar I were born here), can never completely shake the feeling of despair that hangs over the place; the memory of poor Cyre remains fresh as an open wound.
House Deneith has a lot of influence in Karrlakton, and enclaves, outposts, training centers, and barracks can be found throughout the city. Here, one of Karrnath’s largest industrial centers churns out weapons and armor. Karrnathi armaments tend to be functional and heavy, with neither the styling nor elegance evident in their Brelish counterparts.
Because of the close proximity of the Mournland, Karrlakton attracts a number of doomsayers and apocalyptic cultists. One can look across the river to see the wall of dead-gray mist like a funeral shroud that hugs the border of what was once Cyre. Rarely does anything slip out of the Mournland and make it across the fast-moving river, but sometimes the winds change to carry a flying monstrosity or living spell into Karrlakton.
The ports of Karrlakton were once active and important to the interior sections of the nation. Since the destruction of Cyre, however, water activity has decreased significantly. The waterway has become much more turbulent and harder to navigate than it once was, and few sailors relish getting too close to the desolate shore or the dead-gray mist. For this reason, the city has lost a lot of transportation and cargo business to Atur as sea captains turn to the Karrn River for travel inland, then employ cargo caravans to move goods to Vedykar and farther into the interior.
Shield Ward
The architecture of Shield Ward shows its age. It is the oldest district in the city and full of smaller stone buildings. Shield Ward surrounds Sentinel Tower, and most buildings and services are tailored to the needs of the Sentinel Marshalls. Most of the permanent inhabitants here are either Sentinel Marshalls themselves or descendants of the Dragonmarked humans.

Orin's Armory - A large family of dwarven craftsmen, providing high quality armor in high volumes for Karrnath. The leader of this clan is Branagh Orin. He is from the Mror holds but has long since moved his family to permanently reside in Karrlakton. He is still particularly interested in arms and armor from the hoard of the dragon Attes. Gere's Marvelous Blades - The storefront to a large collective of metalsmiths. The proprietor, Arran Gere, sells weapons both retail and wholesale. The Sentinel's Strength - Nearly the size of a city block, this sprawling store sells all sorts of adventuring gear. The owner, a male elf named Avourel Amakiir, knows his market, and keeps a wide variety of trinkets, exploring items, and tools, to help the Sentinel Marshalls prepare for any sort of bounty they find themselves on. The Healthy's Awe Inn - A beautiful three story building made of wood and stone. The owner, Belanor, is friendly and polite, and is happy to provide fine food, lodging, and companionship to his customers. It is no secret that Belanor has the finest establishment for all three in the city.Dock District
The growing size of the Sentinel Marshalls demanded an increase in goods and services, River Trade in the city boomed, and the bustling Docks district was grown. Now that the river trade has all but dried up , The Docks District mostly is used for residential purposes with a small focus on the river fishing business.
The buildings here are smaller than those of the Shield Ward, and are mostly built out of wood. While the presence of the Sentinel Marshalls keeps a high amount of order in the city, a seedy underbelly resides in Karrlakton, and its heart lies in the Docks.

Driftwood City, "The Drifts" - A collection of docks that have been converted into cheap tenements.Mist District
As Karrlakton boomed, the population expanded along the river into the Mist District. The architecture here is similar in style to The Docks District, being built primarily out of wood. Here, the river takes a swift and rocky turn, and a constant veil of mist gives the district its name. In alleys and between cobblestones, moss and lichen grow unperturbed by any attempts to clean.
If the Docks District houses the organized crime in the city, The Mist District houses the disorganized side. Being the farthest removed from the sentinel Tower, security is lighter here than the rest of the city.

He buys and sells wholesale raw materials and transports them from neighboring cities to Karrlakton. Lizia's Magic Shop - The slightly crazed, but powerful, enchantress Lizia runs this magic store.
