Author’s Note: The original copy of this book was uncovered in an ancient elven ruin near the city of Hamier. These accounts were translated from Sylvan and depict the origins to a few historical figures that might have achieved demigod status. Much of the original text was destroyed or torn out.
First Account - Cortrua
Author’s Note: This account seems to be the origin story of the Orcish god of Cortrua, also the origin of the Orcish race.
Cortrua was born in Helmorni. The High Elves of the city treated any wild elves as slaves. The wild elves would do their work and would even be experimented on with magic. Cortrua was a High elf like the masters, but an Archmage gave him the mark of a slave. He would do this Archmage's bidding; he was used for experiments. One day, when he disobeyed his master, he was cursed, turned into a tusked monster, and kicked out into the streets.
Many more slaves were cursed to being hideous creatures, they were named Cursed One's or Orcs. But from the experiments performed on him, he could see the patterns of the sky, he knew when a great storm would come, and that's when we formed a rebellion.
All the Orcs besieged the city after a terrible storm destroyed parts of it. They took the city, killing any master they could find, when the Arch mages performed a spell that made all the wild elves in the city go mad. The Orcs were now just killing anyone they could, even each other, over who got what. Cortrua knew they were going to lose, so using the power he had, he attempted to call a storm down on the White Onyx Tower. The beam struck down into his two blades, and he aimed the blast at the Archmage, who was preparing the ritual for the next wave of magic. The explosion was so powerful, the mages and he were turned to dust; all that was left were his two blades. The blast was felt around the world. All remaining wild elves on Zordrel were cursed to become orcs.
Second Account - Luvon
Author’s Note: Not much was mentioned of Luvon in the original book. Most of the knowledge here is from first hand experience.
Luvon was a Drow from the first elven empire on Zordrel. He practiced shadow magic, allowing him to live far beyond the limits of life. For his crimes, he was banished to the Far Realm by the gods; his only gateway home was a book containing his dark research. His book was sealed away for thousands of years before being discovered by a woodcutter who corrupted the book to perform dark deeds. When the woodcutter was executed, his son, Reyvn Chaem, didn’t believe he was evil. Luvon had tricked Reyvn into bringing him back to Zordrel, thinking it was the woodcutter.
Luvon, after escaping his prison, swore vengeance against the gods. He planned to use artifacts from an ancient time, known as the Astral Hearts, to take away the gods' power. The first Astral Heart was buried under the city of Winterfrost. Once activated it froze the city solid. After this event was dealt with, Luvon was defeated.
Third Account - Gjalbrym
Author’s Note: This section of the original book seemed to have been torn out. Using my limited resources, I did research on this name and have come back with hardly no results. The knowledge I did find pointed to this being an imprisoned demigod of unknown origin.
- Imprisoned Demigod
- Grants his champions a powerful glaive to wield
Fourth Account - Udracar
Author’s Note: This passage was originally torn out but was later found within the Onyx Order.
Once a dragonborn from ancient times. He turned himself into a demon using the Veiled Ones' blood and became an undying warlord. Rumors say he is still alive somewhere in the world or has long been dead. He is one of the reasons why the dragonborn fled their homeland and came to found the city of Onyxia.
