Dwarves

Stone-Lord Dwarves (NPC race)

The dwarven runesmiths live in solice in their superior mountain fortresses with secret technologies, monopolizing early firearms, magical flamethrowers and the ability to craft moderate to strong enchantment on items. The dwarves strives after controlling entire nations with gold and debts owed to them. Caring little for non-dwarven matters unless gold can be earned unless the outcome is too dire. Basically they got most races and nationalities by the balls. The dwarves also keep secrets for mining, extracting and utilizing ore and metals which the falling stars bring from the night sky.    

Outcast Dwarves (player character race)

Some dwarves are born outside of their ancient ancestral fortresses, roaming the open world mingling with humans and other races. As of why these individuals travel on their own vary drastically. Be it a pilgrimage, shame or other reason, they are viewed as the lowest caste within the dwarven society, not knowing the ancestral secrets.
