The Drunken Drake

Four stories tall and boasting balconies, a turret, and five chimneys, this Manorial House and Tavern was once one of the grandest estates in Trollskull Alley. In addition to livery and maintenance, Lord Renaer Neverember enfeoffed the adventurers with this manor house in gratitude after being rescued from a kidnapping. The manor is haunted by the spectre of the tavern's previous barkeeper, Lif. Immediately prior to the adventurer's taking possession of the Manor it was inhabited by Volo who had been using it as fieldwork for his next publication, tentatively titled Volo's Guide to Spirits and Spectres.   In the past, the manor has been owned by Ulkoria Stonemarrow, a member of the Watchful Order of Magists and Protectors, who later sold it to a family of shield dwarves. However, when they could no longer afford to live there, ownership of the Manor was passed on to a woman who intended to turn it into an orphanage. The orphanage became a dark page in the building's history, as the woman was revealed to be a hag who fed on the children she supposedly rescued. Trollskull Manor had several other owners after that, until Lif turned it into a tavern.   Currently the taproom is still filled with broken furniture, tarnished silverware, casks of wine that have turned to vinegar, and worthless detritus. The other rooms appear empty, except for cobwebs, dust, and harmless vermin.
