Gods and Goddesses

Carcerra resides in a universe created by the god, Primus. Religious scholars have pieced together a rough history and understanding of how the world came to be, the family of Gods responsible, and their interactions with mortals/the planes over time. It is generally believed that Primus existed before everything else, and their conflict with evil and darkness eventually led to the creation of all that is perceivable.   Now, Mortals look to win favor of the Gods - or simply avoid angering them. Their levels of omnipotence are debated and unclear, with some Gods taking a very active role in the shaping of the planes and the fates of those who inhabit them.   Common belief is that their physical forms never manifest on the Material plane, and they work through Avatars, celestials (or fiends), and other powerful creatures such as high-level Clerics.
