Cynthia
Lady of the Hunt
Cynthia was once a human huntress from the Battanian homeland.
In the First Age there was a bear in the woods around lake Paternus which had been corrupted by the Greater Demon Thestronak, lord of gluttony. The bear began to consume beyond what could possibly be eaten by a normal creature. Eventually it began to breed more bears of massive size and they would eat everything in their path, and all creatures of the forest began to disappear. This overconsumption offended the spirits of the forest, who pleaded to the goddess of the Fey for assistance.
Cynthia was a human huntress, whose family had been consumed by the bear while she was going to the city to sell furs. She had come home to her husband and all 3 children eaten by a monstrous bear. In her rage, she killed the 9ft bear with only a dagger. She then began a crusade to end the giant bears for good, successfully hunting them one by one to extinction. She would lure the bears away from their kin using tempting food sources, and kill them before they could make a sound.
In return for her service the the Fey Court, Eostre raised her to a seat at the fey court as a goddess of the hunt. Even today she answers the prayers of worthy hunters, and works with her mother to create new beasts worthy of being hunted. She is also the Goddess of the spirits of the forest, after her mother realized that the sprites and fairies of the realms needed a protector, to hunt those who would dare desecrate her sacred glades.
