Calistaph is a large continent, typically divided into a handful broad regions. Below are brief descriptions of these regions and their component countries and people.
Thadonia
Thadonia is the southernmost region in Calistaph. It consists of nine countries that are primarily human, share a calendar, have closely related languages and religious practices, robust trade, and are covered in tropical rainforests.

Iushana
To the East of Thadonia is Iushana, an elven nation composed primarily of city-states. One such city-state, Penitia, is often considered part of Thadonia by the elves, but it shares a calendar, currency, language, and religious practices with the elves. Penitians also tend to consider themselves part of Iushana. The reason for the disagreement is ancestry: Iushians are usually pure-blooded elves, and proud of that, where Penitians have both elven and human ancestors.
Eshia
To the West of Thadonia is Eshia, an insular nation with its own strange religion that seems to ignore the elder and mortal gods altogether. Their language is quite far removed from any Thadonian language, leading anthropologists to believe that it was originally formed by settlers from another part of the continent.
Saza Wilds
North of Eshia and along the western coast of Calistaph, the Saza Wilds are an untamed, perhaps even untameable, jungle. Legends travel far and wide of the gigantic beasts found there. The cunning and deadly tribes of humans, lizardfolk, and unspeakable others are effective in keeping other nations from venturing too far in.
Starreach Mountains
No internationally recognized countries exist in the mountain range that separates the Saza Wilds from the Sandsea. But, it is common knowledge that dwarf clan city-states exist under the high peaks, and elusive scaled and feathered humanoids can be spotted from time to time in the upper reaches of the mountains.
The Sandsea
The Sandsea refers both the great desert in the heart of Calistaph, and the collection of countries in and around it. Long, straight trade routes cross the desert and connect producers of iron in the south and northeast, and wine in the southeast to markets everywhere. More hospitable regions are dominated by humans, but lizardfolk, dwarves, Dragonborn, and elves fair better in the harshest parts of the Sandsea and have established their dominance there.

Tablands
The Northeast corner of Calistaph is where humans were first created from dust by the Elder Gods. These first humans called themselves Tabs, and as their civilization spread and diversified, their ancestral home came to known as the Tablands. The human countries that still persist there cling to their ancient traditions, most importantly to their practice of slavery. Many countries on Calistaph have slavery in some form, but the institution is more central to countries in the Tablands than any other region on Calistaph.
Tzakandra
Tzakandra is the northernmost region of Calistaph, composed of few countries and many nomadic tribes that have found a way to thrive in the bitter cold. Not many people want to go there, and Tzakandrans are perfectly happy to be left alone.
