Solgoneth, Keeper of Flames
Solgoneth is Lord over the eternal purgatory in one of the circles of Hell. They take delight in the unending torment of the trapped souls of mortals that are burning in the hellfire forevermore. As a mighty Demon Lord they are almost as powerful as one of the Gods but the literal devil is in the detail here: almost.
Ever envious of the Gods' powers Solgoneth and the other Demon Lords try to strengthen their grasp on the material plane and its inhabitants, offering pacts of power to weak and ambitious souls alike. Little do these souls care that these contracts are binding in perpetuity and the final payment on their part is due after their death:An eternity of torment awaits...
