The Sanctuary of The Pater-Bear

Hidden away in the Nix Hollow Woods, the Sanctuary of the Pater-Bear is hard to find, harder to enter, and harder still to fathom. A sixty foot high hedge encircles the sanctuary, impervious to traversal and all but the strongest of magics. On the hedge grows fruit, vegetables, grasses, herbs, mushrooms, and all manner of other natural foodstuffs. Passage can only occur through a magical archway, to which one must offer something that grows to provide sustenance.   Once inside, the sanctuary is a marvel to behold. Centred around a small hill which has been carved out to form a grotto to the Pater-Bear, the grass is lush and wild, dotted with meadow flowers, tall cypress trees, and squat fruit trees. It never rains within the sanctuary, indeed, the sky is always clear, and the air warm. Marble statues are scattered around and there is a fountain which, from it's four ornate faces, trickles a sweet, honeyed wine.

Purpose / Function

The sanctuary exists to offer shelter, food and rest to those lost in the Woods.

Architecture
