General Information

Classification: Monstrous Humanoid / Apex Predator

Physical Description

Frostfang Yetis are hulking, fur-covered predators with bluish-white coats that blend seamlessly into the snow. Their fangs are jagged like broken icicles, and their eyes glow faintly with a cold, arcane light. Their long claws are capable of tearing through steel, and their breath carries an unnatural chill that can freeze flesh on contact.

Behavior and Ecology

Despite their monstrous appearance, Frostfang Yetis exhibit high intelligence, especially in hunting strategy. They are known to isolate prey, lay ambushes, and use howls to mimic storm winds. Some scholars theorize they communicate telepathically within small packs.
  • Nocturnal and primarily active during auroral surges
  • Solitary alphas are the most dangerous
  • Resistant to cold-based magic
  • Sensitive to celestial fluctuations — often more aggressive during lunar eclipses

Legends and Myths

Some druids believe the Frostfang Yetis were once sacred guardians of Hrímfjallið, created by the Celestial Architects to defend the leyline convergence from corruption. Others whisper that they are cursed remnants of the Starlit Ordain, twisted by exposure to divine energies gone awry.

Known Encounters

  • The Glacier Hollow Massacre, where an entire scouting company vanished in a single night
  • Frozen statues in the Sapphire Crags believed to be victims of the yeti’s breath
