Security Clearance

A being's security clearance is what determines the position that being is allowed to have. It is acquired during their time in the military. In order for someone to gain a security clearance, they must go through psychological evaluations. Those evaluations are continued throughout a being's life, regardless of if they are career military, outside the military structure (a 'civilian contractor'), a scientist, etc.

The higher a security clearance, the longer and in-depth the evaluations.

In order to acquire any type of security clearance, a being cannot have any negative psychological illnesses, including but not limited to: racism, racial superiority, xenophobia.

If a being is found to have any negative psychological illnesses, they are treated for them and/or given a dismissal from the military. They do not acquire a security clearance of any level.

Everything on K'lais is determind by a being's security clearance as well as their ranking within the military. Even if someone has a lower ranking, if they have a higher security clearance, they are not allowed to answer the questions of a higher-ranking being. Instead, the lower-ranking being can flat out inform them to contact a higher-ranking official, and if they have the needed security clearance, they will receive the information requested. A being's security clearance can be raised and sometimes lowered.

Children are required to have the same security clearance as their parents, which means they go through psychological evaluations. Even at young ages. If the child is adopted, they must be cleared prior to the adoption. If a child does not meet the required security clearance (regardless of the reason), steps are taken to ensure the child does not learn anything requiring the security clearance.
