The Low Road

This old gnomish stomping trail snakes along the western coast of Oren. Extending for several thousand miles, the Low Road varies wildly in quality: the northern most portion is gravel when not paved or elevated on planks whereas the southern and central sections of the trail have nearly vanished. Parts of the Low Road near Gyre have been repaved but much of its extent in The Lower Wylds has become largely overgrown.   During the Elven Empire's reign in Oren, the Low Road was heavily patrolled by gnomish war machines and unsavory mercenary bands. Decades after those conflicts, the Low Road above Wall's Cove remains one of the busiest paths in Cabochon. South of the wall is a much different story. Highwaymen and goblinoid bandits stake out some of the most treacherous lengths of the road. Those traveling along these sections are highly advised to either travel in large caravans or with an arm detail of guards. Sometimes, otherwise adequate protection is not enough for clans like the Crimson Banners.
