Azriel
Azriel, a sequestered avatar of Archdevil Zariel. In Zariel's thirst to fight the Blood War unabated, a consolidation of her former angelic nature was discarded into an avatar. Renaming itself Azriel (an anagram of Zariel), the angelic avatar pleaded to the High Heavens for support. Archangel Pythas granted Azriel a celestium blade once he shared the truth of Zariel, her avatars, and all of Cabochon.
Azriel would later find a tiefling Hope whom made he a pact with. Throughout the year, Azriel would guide hope until his eventual capture by the mindflayer Naihboor. The mindflayer used the avatar as a bargaining chip with an agent of Zariel to fix his spelljammer and continue his experiments on various phenomena. The agent wanted Azriel's mind removed thus preserving his immortality. Luckily, Azriel persuaded the mindflayer to ressurect his mind as an elder brain citing his vast knowledge of the cosmos and his potential for the future of the ithilid people. This process would kill Azriel which would in turn weaken Zariel whose power depended on the avatar's imprisonment and survival. Azriel bid Hope farewell a few days prior to his ultimate transformation and death. In a fit of pure irony, Hope would sign a conditional pact to Zariel just one day later.
