Celestium

Celestium or "celesteel" is an alloy forged by celestials that draws many structural similarities to mithral. Celestium is considered much rarer than mithral as only certain celestials of the High Heavens are known to cast it. The constituents of this alloy remain unknown potentially predating inspiring the creation of mithral.

Properties

Material Characteristics

Celestium finds recovered and studied confirm its light brass color. Unnaturally light, the brassy alloy can withstand high heat, pressure, and is not obviously reforgable. Despite this high durability, celestium still fractures and deforms under heavy shear or arcane stress. The alloy emits a golden aura when in situations of strong religious significance.

Compounds

It is believed to be an alloy of some type but neither the nature of these composites nor the conditions in which they are cast is currently known.

Celestium

An alloy forged by certain celestials that draws many structural similarities to mithral. Celestium is considered much rarer than mithral as only celestials are known to cast it. The constituents of celestium remain unknown and may have inspired the creation of mithral. Although very similar, celestium shares identical characteristics as mithral with some differences:

-Celestium appears as a golden or brass looking metal rather than silvery.
-Celestium offers no decrease in spell failure chances.
-Celestium glows a soft golden light in the presence of celestials or religious places, rituals, or items.
-Celestium armor or shields deflect up to 1d4 radiant damage (per piece donned) as harsh, yellow light. Armors are treated as one category lighter than normal.
-Celestium armor, like mithral, increases maximum Dexterity bonus by 2 and decreases armor check penalties by 3.
-Celestium weapons deal additional 1d4 radiant damage if glowing (see above)
-Celestium weapons, while lighter, have no change in size category or how they are wielded.
-Celestium items are considered legendary and use mithral’s masterwork item cost modifier multiplied by 1.5.
