Goblinoids
The other contender for the tittle of cockroach.
Found sparingly all over the world, goblinoids are naturally impulsive by nature, they tend to live in the moment, vying for the immediate satisfaction and pleasures they get from gold, food. drink or any shiny object they deem valuble without a second thought. This usually leads to the goblins most notable weak point, they often lack the foresight or self-control to preserve themselves. While more than capable of acknowledging the obvious dangers in front of them, they rarely notice the more subtle risks in life, while a human may hesitate upon seeing a chest in the middle of nowhere or check for traps, goblins will rush and trample eachother to grab the contents inside the mimic first.
Thankfully, goblins posses an unaturally high Constitution that they use and outright abuse to crawl out of any mess when they bite of more than they can chew. Despite their Short tempered and short-sighted, if not greedy natures, a goblin is not dumb, far from it in fact, goblins are some of the world's most cunning minds in the world (a notable story shared by goblins depicts them going so far as to decieve the god of pain himself) and wouldn't hesitate to use feints, fight dirty, use hostages and anything in their environment to get ahead for even a moment, a goblin will usually put their survival over anything else and can be quick to change sides should they see an oppurtunity to save their skin.
Hobgoblins- The Highest on the social totem pole of goblinoids. Taller, smarter, and far more ambitious than their lower-class counterparts, hobogoblins can range from militant to methodical in their cunning tactics. Because of this, hobgoblins and are almost always found in leadership roles over their "lesser" goblins. Their origins as leaders supposedly derive from a story that describes them as being the first goblin to exibit long-term organization and planning skills that far exceeded what was thought possible from the race.
Bugbears- The rarest of three, their origins are shrouded in mystery beyond a notable connection to the fae. Bugbears are far larger than their other counterparts, with sprawling limbs that can rapidly dislocate and relocate to extend lentgh momentarily. despite this (possibly literally) monstrous strentgh, bugbears are quite lazy, prefering to doze off during the day and bossing around smaller goblins below them, when they do act however they prefer to operate stealthily under the dead of night.
Base Goblins- The Lowest and most common goblin, Goblins are always found living in groups, believing in strentgh in numbers, despite this, they remain the most self-interested of the three, what the lack in skills they make up for in sheer overwhelming numbers, deceptive intellect for backhanded tactics and a cowardly nature they refer to as a "tactical retreat" regardless of it's intention, a goblins skills in self-preservation and stealth are impressive enough to gain the attention of numerous ninja clan willing to recruit outside the family.
