Grand Marshall of The Westerstrum Army

Unless exceptional qualities have been noted by many high ranking members of the Westerstrum army, council and elite, someone must at least have risen to the rank of general to be considered. They must have seen actual combat and show both a great understanding of the empires strengths and weakness, and display a strong sense of nationalism. Finally they must take an oath to protect the council in the case of revolution and to attempt to the best of their ability to keep as much of the army under control as possible.

The Grand Marshall is expected to stay in constant communication with the various lower ranks, stay informed on the happenings of the navy and the sky brigade, ensure adequate placement of troops for defense, and plan offensive strikes. The only decisions relating to the army that the Grand Marshall does not have the authority to make, are raising the active state of war, and the usage of Nimrog, other then that he is in complete command. They will normally be found handling the administrative work from within the capitols walls, however in drastic circumstances he can be deployed to lead from the battlefield and must be ready and able at any moment.

They are given near royal treatment within the capitol, and when sent to battlefield are sent with plenty of attendants to take care of their needs outside of combat. There expenses are paid in full by the council and should they need to spend time in another city are treated as if they were a councilor.

The council can at any moment, should they feel that the duties are not being adequately fulfilled or, should the Grand Marshall loose in a battle he was sent to, remove this title and replace them.
