The Everstorm
At port towns across the world, sailors whisper of a section of the New World that could bring untold riches to those that would brave it. A place where gold and treasure is said to rain from the sky. But the catch is that to get said treasure, one must face a monster of a storm. A storm that has been said to have been raging for centuries. Its name: the Everstorm.
True to the rumours, gold and treasure do in fact fall from the sky here, albeit often propelled to insane speeds by the winds, smashing through ships hulls or a crewmates skull, often resulting in another addition to the graveyard of ships that lurk beneath the waves.
A few livable islands can be found around the edge of the Storm, the largest of which being the NWTC owned Chadwick.
Above water, sailors report of beings formed entirely out of stormstuff, clouds and wind and lighting that seem to command the storm to some degree.
Another fairly common sights are ships that originate from the nearby islands outside of the storm proper. Although apparently suicidal, many treasures can be found at the bottom of the sea in the everstorm, either from falling from the sky or from wrecked ships. It is lucrative enough to be the main income of many of these islands, who train strong divers capable of surviving in the otherwise inhospitable environment. The most striking thing about these teams of divers is the designs of their ships, colloquially referred to as Flying Fish. These ships are medium sized and solidly built, but with a set of extendable sails that dwarf the ship itself, positioned parallel to the deck of the ship. When conditions are right, these ships can use the tumultuous winds within the everstorm to catch the inside of these sails and soar above the treacherous waves rather than on them for short times, skipping across the oceans surface like a flat stone. These ships remain around the outer rim of the storm, as the winds can become so strong towards the middle that some have claimed to see ships being flung hundreds of feet into the air to a watery grave. See the entry on Flying Fish or Chadwick for more information.
Geography
True to its name, the Everstorm is a hurricane force storm that reaches over 100 miles across. Unlike most storms it doesn't appear to move at all, and any attempts to calm its waters with magic has been met with limited success. If there are islands within its waters, then those islands are probably devoid of all life.True to the rumours, gold and treasure do in fact fall from the sky here, albeit often propelled to insane speeds by the winds, smashing through ships hulls or a crewmates skull, often resulting in another addition to the graveyard of ships that lurk beneath the waves.

Inhabitants
Being such a hostile environment, one would expect there to be no life endemic to the area, but this is not true. Many aquatic species can be found only here, mystifying cooks and scholars alike. Many of them are carnivorous, like the muscular Devil Shark or the noxious Wastrilith, making falling off of your ship a near instant death sentence.Above water, sailors report of beings formed entirely out of stormstuff, clouds and wind and lighting that seem to command the storm to some degree.
