Admirals
At the pinnacle of the NWTC's Naval Division lie the 3 Admirals, governed by a single Grand Admiral. Each of them has been experimented on by the archmage Theodorax, whose experiments on life from beyond this plane allowed him to push a mortal's brain and body past their limitations.
Grand Admiral Alexander Rochelieu
Grand Admiral of the Naval Division of the New World Trading Company and head of one of the noble families that founded the NWTC. At over 900 years old, he is actually one of the original founders of the Company. Unlike many of the nobles who joined Anum's conquest of the New World, Alexander was not in it for personal power, but because of his dedication to the idea of keeping the peoples of the world safe from the greater cosmos. This extreme devotion to the cause awakened paladin powers within Alexander. Over the centuries, as he has had tom face tougher calls and ap[prove more cruelty, Alexander's conviction has changed him. He deeply loathes his actions, but his determination to see Anum's greater world propels him on anyway, turning him into a husk of his former self, a shambling corpse that enacts Anum's will no matter his thoughts on the matter, turning himself into a Death Knight. Alexander is also the head of an organisation within the Navy known as Excalibur, an elite group of marines at all ranks chosen for their dedication to the cause. These marines swear oaths to the Company and also develop paladin powers. Notable Excalibur members include Eleanor Seawind and George's orc character.Fleet Admiral Birs
The Admiral in charge of the first half of the New World. Birs is an orc from humble beginnings, having run from his tribe as a boy and enlisting in the Navy before working his way up the ladder. Birs is something of a poster child of the navy, as having a reformed "savage" orc be in a managerial position does a lot to sell the "anyone can be welcomed by the Company!" vibe. He's on a lot of the recruitment posters. Birs was treated horribly as a child but found acceptance within the Company. He saw firsthand the atrocities of pirates and vowed that he would do anything to stop them. He is extremely loyal to the Company, delusionally so, and refuses to reconcile their stated goals with the many terrible things he's learned about them on his climb to the top. He was first recommended to the Company when he and a few other good-natured citizens caught wind of some 'evil triton' attempting to resurrect their dark god. Aided by a man who later turned out to be a Seraph agent of Aegis in disguise, Birs slaughtered the triton, and under the Seraph's instructions, poured a vial of Anum's Blood on to the ritual circle, erasing it from existence. This event is actually what gave Bowgas G. Jack his control over Hellfire. as the blood entered the still-barely-alive body of the merman, changing him forever. One time he was mortally wounded in battle by Bloody Handed Quincy, Quartermaster of the Bloodtide pirates and left for dead, hopelessly outmatched by the vampire's strength. Following this shameful defeat, he signed up to be a willing participant in a study conducted by Theodorax. He became the NWTC's first super soldier, gaining immense strength and magical abilities. When he's not giving orders, he enjoys flying or walking around NWTC-controlled islands, doing helpful little deeds for random citizens, partially just to get to know the various people he's protecting, partially to cover up for the guilt of the other things the NWTC does. Doing so is great propaganda for the Company and Birs is revered as a genuine hero by the public. Birs is a straightforward and earnest man with a jovial attitude and an absolutely unflinching conviction. He is a soft and kind person, but to pirates, he is a monster, resistant to almost all damage and capable of hurling cannonballs with force similar to an actual cannon.Charlotte Seawind
A high elf, aunt to Eleanor Seawind. In charge of the Old World. A powerful psion who fights using telekinesis, particularly to wield 10 swords, hence the nickname - "Ten Sword Seawind". An austere and regal figure who appears distant and aloof puts much pressure on her niece. She lost her sister, Eleanor's mother, to a pirate attack when the girl was only 5 years old. This has instilled in both of them a strong desire to see piracy eradicated.Solf Hengler
Someone who is an admiral and loves it. He presides over the 2nd half of the New World and leads the conflict against the Pirate Lords. Is fully aware of all the fucked up stuff the Company does. He enjoys his job because it lets him inflict as much pain as he likes legally. The Grand Admiral has to keep him on a short leash otherwise he would wage all-out war against all 3 Pirate Lords at once. His enhancements allow him to perceive and easily read the minds of anyone around him, essentially observation haki(basically the foresight spell at all times). This allows him to nimbly avoid attacks and strike weak points with pinpoint accuracy. He also possesses the ability to completely overwhelm the minds of his opponents, in severe cases leaving them shells of their former selves. He is a barracuda merman who was isolated from his tribe at a young age. He of course has heard the tales of Ernath Alus as well as the deep secret that all 'triton' are secretly mermaids and the severe amount of oppression sea creatures face at the hands of the Company. Frankly, he just doesn't care. He finds the merfolk's desperate hiding and plans to free Oceanus amusing and is content to let them struggle, considering whichever side wins to be 'true justice'.Remove these ads.
